  • As with all bodyboarding manoeuvres, speed is essential and key when pulling off moves. That is why it’s important knowing how to hold your board correctly to be able to maximise speed and projection across the face of a wave.
Bodyboard Holidays coach Matt ‘Mave’ Davies explains the theory behind what we call the ‘Claw Grip’ and how just the slightest of changes and knowledge can improve your bodyboarding in no time. 🚀

Very true. I had to learn this on my own back in the day. Alot of little tips like this were secret in the 90s. Noone would discuss them. Sometimes stewart would give a tad of info but very discrete. I picked this up from watching mitch rawlins alot. Even tho lm older than him l learned the 'claw grip' from him. Made a huge diff moving fingers over to top corner of rail rather than whole hand on top corner of nose. Improved my riding alot. Cool that this info is available now. Have to say, this is 1 good thing about the internet. Thx

Never buy the boards that connect to your arm with that type of water if you get hit hard they will easily snap
