I've got a Lifetime membership of Malwarebytes for my PC running and I never knew about this little gem of software from them, I've installed it and will be monitoring things even better now due to you providing this info for us. Cheers Britec09, very much appreciated my friend ;-)
I have been flip-flopping for 4 weeks about staying with Windows or jumping to Linux Mint. All of this was driven by all the uninvited MS traffic. If this Malwarebytes Firewall controller does its job I'll be staying with MS. 🤠🤠🎯🎯👍👍✅✅
Every Windows user who cares about their Security, Privacy, and Hardware, should install this. Awesome tool. I was using Bitdefender's built-in firewall to do the same thing but it's unreliable. This one is much better. Thanks.
Thanks for this video, I am a Malwarebytes premium customer, and I wasn't even aware of this product. Kinda feel Malwarebytes dropped the ball on this one. Your channel is the place to go for the obscure, not so obscure and things that should never be obscure. Liked saved and shared, appreciated 👍
I installed this programme and started using it and I although I have all the recommended windows telemetry switched off, I am amazed that this programme catches many other windows outbound connections that just seem to "pop up" and gives me the opportunity to block or allow it through, Great programme and like many others I use Malwarebytes also and was completely unaware of this product.
had someone try to gain entry into my system and this firewall blocked it without flinching, been using this for 4 years best tool i have found to block any traffic in or out just so many useful features. thank you Britec09 for bringing this to a video so everyone can be made aware of it.
I haven't use a firewall in ages, my first one I used was the combos spysweeper and zone alarm firewall, after a few years I abandoned the firewall and used only the windows defender option, this past year I gave comodo firewall a chance but was too complex to un install because it gave me problems with a system update, so I ended up removing it again. So now I will give this a try
how do i block more complex scenarios like requests per second or event count requests by protocol per second, if you telling that take full control of windows firewall, so how do i contoll this kind of scenarios?
Hey Britec thanks for this........I have a problem with this software after I installed it......When I chose "Medium filtering - Recommended" in profiles it blocks all of my incoming windows mail emails ?......So I had to set it down to low filtering to get them to come through......So how do I set it back on medium filtering to stop it from blocking my incoming emails. Let me know.....Thanks!
This is a really great video. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this gives a user the ability to do -most- of what other firewall 'software' does ... i.e. observe and take control of application behavior (over the network and internet).
Nice presentation for a short video like this. You could have also cover the uninstallation process and maybe mention 1 - 2 spots that needs to be taken into consideration while doing so. Is it straightforward or does it leave leftover files / dlls behind? Have you tried that?
@Britec09 hi l downloaded the malware bytes windows firewall program as recommended , l also used your Microsoft edge program uninstaller, however this malware program says edge is running, and regardless of how many times l block it in the firewall, the program unblocks and allows it self internet access,🤔 I'm using Firefox latest version, so has it uninstalled or is it still running
This will be a good substitute for Comodo Free Firewall. I've used CFW for a long time but it has been almost a year since any updates came out. So I guess it's going to be abandoned in the future.
Never knew malwarebytes have this, interesting for sure. Altho im a Comodo Firewall user where you already have 100 % control over your system but this looks like a tool to try to play around 🙂
If you don't mind, try helping people to use a better option like Simplewall, and an in-depth tutorial will be well suited for those who can't pay for one.
I was using Malwarebytes Premium for 10 years and they were always showing website blocks all the time which are fake & saying they block this & this. (I still have one lifetime licence ) I would not recommend Malwarebytes to anybody. Windows Defender & common sense are all you need & remember you are your own anti-virus.
😱 Now we need another 3rd party program to set up Windows Security? Just started using it and is a good thing I have a new version of my old one, which changed the firewall settings frequently😱
@@Britec09 I'm very likely going back to my paid Bitdefender parked in a drawer. I have searched a lot on just how Windows Security works via a thorough video and nothing found. It actually has security features that are recommended to be turned off???? Does MS actually hire their engineers who have split personalities? I could go on but not. 👍as usual
ET Himself. I ditch my Malwarebytes Premium which I had for about 10 years, I've gone back to Windows Defender it's all you need. Malwarebytes Premium was always showing fake website blocks & was continuously blocking legitimate sites, but I do know you like your paid Bitdefender.👍
@@Nick41622 I do like Bitdefender - thought I would try Windows and do not care for it as above and more. By the way HI👍.I only use Malewarebytes at times as free and 1 full scan then delete it and remaining folders and sub folders. Not use it for some time though as it never found anything that Bitdefender or Kaspersky missed. This vid kinda tells me a lot. Later 👍
Yeah. I installed this and i cannot make my internet work. Tried twice and I need to re install windows to fix it. No commands/uninstall/network and firewall reset can fix it.
Its too late for Microsoft. Windows 10 and 11 are bad quality products, but Russian firewall like Dr.Web restore usability + they give free mobile app firewall, but its paid
drop us a comment and like the video. Thanks

I had Malwarebytes Premium for years, till I found out they were showing fake websites blocks. You don't need this fraudulent company.

I wonder which update set it off.
Just what I was looking for. Ingenious!
Thank you so much, this was so useful for my security
Thank you so much for what you do. Malware Bytes user for years never knew this existed. Always just used Windows firewall.
You're welcome!
I recommend SimpleWall
open source & can block anything even system processes
Making a video on that soon
I have used it for a while, it's useful tiny software. thankyou
Glad to hear that
Been using Malwarebytes for years. Nice little icing on the cake. As always, thanx again Brian !

It gives you more control with the built in firewall

Comodo Firewall is to much for the average user
@@Britec09 absolutely, no matter the settings you still need some understanding of its alerts and windows itself. Comodo is basically a geek tool 😁
It is no longer available. Why?
Used malwarebytes for years, didn't know they did this.
One question is why do requests come in if my router has SPI firewall on?
dont use that using nortons smart firewall part of my norton 360 delux here
This is only if you use windows defender firewall with Windows defender

How i can block idm notification update ?!!! ... i try to block it ... but it can change unblck itself
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DownloadManager
look for "LastCheck" double click and change year ie 18/09/22 change to 18/09/30
Restart

how do you know this is ok? Malwarebytes has nothing on there site about it, and he has nothing on his site to validate the malwarebytes logo?

You better off disabling Windows firewall and using the one inside your router
Its not the best firewall, but some people will only use Windows defender and built in firewall

The ones in most popular routers are extremely poor.
