As for the future, - I fear unfortunately that next week all the surgeons, rocket scientists & engineers that come to our country to stay in our 4 & 5 star hotels will be there fishing the place empty to fill their bellys. At Stanborough Lakes today there were a group of 4 guys with a net curtain stretched across the chalk stream, & a landing net to fish out the bigger specimens (which appeared to be anything between 1lb & 5lb); Which were promptly flung into a bin bag inside a holdall. They didn't seem to care that people could see what they were doing; & when asked - said "no speak ingleesh". Called up plod - Not interested. Called up the Environment Agency - No Answer !. What a s#!thole this country is becoming as a result of the malfeasance of the imbeciles allegedly running things & maintaining the waterways & rural affairs. Sadly those who are meant to care - Just don't.
Yes indeed M Harris i have said this in the past with Graeme and his channel. He's Totally Professional, not just Totally Awesome. A remarkable channel that caters for everyone. He is The Best, Steve in Fife.
That's truly shocking...There will be nothing left in a very short space of time...but hey-ho let it all go down the toilet pan...Why worry when half the Government don't even know what's really happening out in the real World and the other half are wokey lovers ,wet as a rag in a washing machine with the backbone of a jellied eel !!...Don't get me started ,it will only give me a sleepless night of simmering rage...Thanks for your comment though.
I’m glad there’s people like you in the world my friend, your videos are a great escape from all the madness in the world today. It’s good to know that a fish still identifies as a fish.😂
It truly is a pleasure, and a privilege, to be invited along on your adventures, Graeme. Superb session! I was worried that beautiful barbel on your firs chuck was going to be the dreaded “first cast curse”, but it turned into the exact opposite! First cast blessings! What a lucky boy you were. The legacy you are building here on RUclips is phenomenal! The lessons, knowledge, and tips you are leaving for future anglers is a totally awesome resource which will benefit all anglers for years to come. God bless you, Sir! Tight lines, my friend. 🐟
I'm certainly not in it for what I can get out of it,hopefully as you say it will be something I can leave behind that future anglers can dip into, either for some unusual old school fishing tips or just a bit of enthusiasm to get others out there fishing. I do know some people have said they go back into some of our early films again even though they watched them first time round, which must say something about the content.I just wish I had a video camera 50 years ago to show what some of our rivers were like .
Other fishing channels its the best gear best boats costs a fortune puts me off but Graham strips it all back and shows it doesn't need to be that way with some knowledge and common sense you can do it easily love the way he shows how to make your own gear.great guy
Another fantastic video Graham. This is the best fishing channel by far! Yours and Mike's videos are so entertaining! Keep up the good work both of you!! ❤️🎣🎣👍
It's always a pleasure to watch these video's after a long day at work, I do miss Lake and river fishing trips but work and family are conveniently taken up the time but I'm due for a week off work this month fingers crossed lol
The only barble I've ever caught was on the river Seven Iron Bridge along with chub in the late 70s. I have never since had a fishing session like it. Watching you reminds me of those days. Loved the video. Thanks for sharing.👍
Thank you Graeme, yet another great Video. I save your Videos in watch later & wait for Sunday evening to watch them with a glass of Bourbon, watching your videos is a great way of ending a weekend on & getting ready for the week in front, Superb therapy. Thank you 👍🏻
Firstly Graeme...Thank you for all yours and Mike's content....absolutely love all your videos...just wondered what the name of the stretch of the Wye you quite regular fish, heading down early next week and will be sure to go and see Woody but just to do some homework before hand...Again many thanks !!!...👍👌👍
Have become a huge fan of your videos Graham. Fished for 20 years then unfortunately never found the time. However, you've inspired me to fish again, currently at Marsh Farm, Milford. Bury Hill was always a favourite though. Keep up the great work, cheers!
What a lovely video. I live 10mins from Throop on the Stour and Hampshire Avon. Sadly we are plagued by Boarders during he summer so i stay away til later in the year.
Many thanks for that...I had quite a few Smidges in my bivvy while Tench fishing the other night..Kept me awake with their whining trying to get inside my hoodie ...!
Graham I’ve watched Mikes Chanel now for years and years and have only found your channel recently used to fish 5 days a week for almost 13 years but since having kids haven’t due to commitments now their older and am looking forward this summer to taking them down for their first ever session on the Thames I do love The golden king of the river and have learnt so much from your channel over the pst couple of weeks I have so much to catch up on it even seems that aka mr whisker’s even the anglers Mail has gone now too 😢 oh well all is well as I have your channel to look back on sadly I don’t think I live near you but hope one day to meet on a lake or river what fun 😀😀 great video my friend right lines 🎣
Thanks for the comment, you will have plenty of catching up to do as there are over 1000 films up,so hopefully there might be a few tips to put you on the road to some fish. Good luck with the fishing and old whiskers !
Another week and I'll be venturing out on the river wid near me.....I'm missing roving the river on a summer's day. Thanks for the video, a welcome treat tonight after putting the finishing touches to some decking I'm building since 8.00 this morning 😖...I'm now layed up on the sofa, beer in hand and hot water bottle on lower back haha
I get the hot water bottle bit. I was out all night blanking for Tench couple days ago, forgot the inflatable bedroll and now the back is paying me back..I'm on the Ibuleve, but no hot water bottle yet.
looking forward to having a walk down a river, I looked at my local the other day and wished I hadn't...it was choked with weed and almost unfishable...
What you said about recasting a feeder every three minutes. I think it was Keith Arthur who said to choose two swims. Fill the feeder and cast to the first, count to 50 then recast, count to 100 and recast, count to 150 and bring it in. Chose the second swim and repeat then go back to the first swim. Repetitive feeding is what brings results, no more 'chuck it and chance it' which ledgering was said to have been about. That's a good swim you have there. Don't tell anyone where it is or the circus will arrive there. Nice one Graeme.
I imagine there are loads of swims with Barbel, its just finding them. I must do a bit more roving with less gear next season, try to find some new spots. Apparently the footbridge was the AAA swim last year.I tried 2 different trips to try it but anglers in it every time...Good job really,it made me move elsewhere.
good grief gp what a session. the description threw me for a hot minute because it was worded in third person. I feared something happened to you, guy! 😂 hope your summer has arrived in uk, it has not in alaska yet
Hey Graham buddy thanks for uploading mate what a lengthy upload buddy, looking forward for this one, much love an maximum respect everyone from Birmingham 👍❤🙏
Hi Graeme, you are probably aware that Mike Oxman's Fishery at St.Michaels Lake has closed as he was unable to renew his Lease. Have you fished his new lake yet?
Having TXT Mike recently I don't think that even he knows for sure what is in there. A lot of his "knowledge" of the Water is based on Chinese Whispers and rumours of what was in there years ago! It could be a Paradise, or a recipe for a very hard day's fishing.😂👍
@@TAFishing maybe is the terrain of those ponds and river you fish on, we here use knocker rigs/paternosters for pond and lakes and they are the norm here. 2 or 3 hook setups usually. cheers!
May I ask why you use such a long hooklink? Is it because of the fast flow, ie you don't want the bait in the feeder passing the baited hook too quickly? I'm an inexperienced river fisherman! I'm hoping to fish the Kennet this season, so any tips most appreciated.
I was given the tip by Woody in the tackle shop a few years ago.Maybe its because the Barbel might be wary of the feeder itself and lie back a bit picking up loose feed further downstream.
as point of note - Probably an old trick but seasoning your luncheon meat a day or few days before with some curry powder also sends the carp and barbel mad. I only used curry powder back in the day but im sure other spices will work. Bit of curry powder, let them chill in the fridge then on the day you go fishing you could even stick them the microwave for about a 40 seconds to a minute to get the oils in the meat going and your set for catching a monster.
Guys you should start a Patreon, unless you already have one! Would love to see some episodes with better filming equipment and the money made from Patreon subscribers would definitely pay for all your expenses and allow you to make better visual quality videos. Keep up the good work!
We did have a Patreon account several years ago,but to be honest it never really sat well with me so we closed it . I just fund it all myself . But you are right about the old filming equipment,I just get Mike's old hand-me-downs as I know its often content that most people want .That's why you rarely see drone shots,we've had 2 or 3 drones but its just something else to worry about. Its wind in the Mic /sound that I consider my biggest drawback. I just like filming on my own ,doing my own thing etc. Guess I'm too old to change now with fancy equipment that I would never use properly...I have enough trouble texting ..!!!
Swans have an incredible ability to be annoying. In the past I found the best longish term solution was to feed each one a whole loaf of cheap stale white bread which sends them off to sleep somewhere for a couple of hours.
I like the small reels,I don't want to go all Carpy...I have baitrunners but just use them for Carp, ocassionally Pike, and sometimes Bass. Or maybe they do make a small baitrunner ,but then again my old reels have been with me for some 40 years,I don't think I could see them upset and "cast" aside just because of another model ...!
Shame you never watched the vid where I say I'm fishing in October !!....Not to worry,we always say it won't be more than a day before someone says that ...Always happens this time of year.
I realise that but didn't want to say...we have drone shots somewhere of our first ever trip up there and probably no more than maybe 6/8 years ago ?..Lush streamer weed beds..now there seems nothing green at all.
This episode alone shows why this will always be the best fishing channel. It's easy to feel like we are there with you.
I try to keep it real and tell it how it is,rather than a totally sanitised edit .that would be too boring for me. I'm too old to change now.

Always worth that last cast, or in boat fishing at sea.."just one more drop down "...
A Totally Awesome fishing trip.
Always a treat, thank you! 👍🍻

Such a nice guy, thanks for the entertainment as always.
That swan is hilarious it even brought some of its buddies to come check you out. Love your vids btw. From Alameda California!
Hi there California...Do you need any swans over there ?
@@TAFishing lol as a matter of fact I don't think we have those here, or chum. Plenty of Geese, Sea Gulls, and Crows.

Graeme Bolt! The fastest man on the bank. New river record from chair to rod 😂
I had to leap over another rod as well and being over 70 it might count as a hurdling record also...!
Yet another cracking video Graeme and FYI a tad is slightly larger than a smidge!. Ihope this answers your question on the size of a tad.😀😀👍👍👍👍
