I do feel like the Hermits are going to essentially ignore TFC. I get that he wasn't the biggest contributor but man there should be a huge mine made by the Hermits in his honor before the season is done

He wasn't that big of a contributor but that shouldn't matter and they should step the fuck up instead of seemingly forgetting about him and I'd be shocked if he was mentioned at all again on HC.

I remember watching the hell out of a youtuber by the name of MonkeyFarm. They were my goto for finding out how to make any type of automation. Whether it be Slime, Chicken Eggs, Mob grinders, or farms in general, he had them all.

Yes, I believe the whole SciCraft community had an unimaginable impact on Minecraft. Especially, as you said, on farming, but also redstone as a whole and their automation. And I definitely think RaysWorks also deserves a spot on this tier list ranking.

Hermitcraft being a league of its own makes me very very happy. And the fact that TFC and Techno were the first ones in their respective teirs makes me extra extra happy.
I knew Techno would've been at the top here, but thank you for putting TFC here too. Really had a massive and profound impact on me as a person, not just on how I play Minecraft. The fact that season after season he was just content to be branch mining most of the time was inspiring to me. He just appreciated being part of it all and that was enough for him. Respect.

I know Etho is a hermit, but to me he is definitely a part of "minecraft as we know it"
I watched this guy way before i started watching other hermits (tho i did watch some of grian's build swap videos back then as well)
I always think of him as a MindCracker first. I remember being so hyped for Season 4.
For me, I remember finding his channel when he was still making build school videos back in 2015 or so, in his really early days of his channel. It was cool since I had already known about grian well before that from when he was the builder for craftedmovie making videos in 2012/2013. And I know people who have been watching Etho since even before then. He's definitely the most popular mc youtuber from when he started, and the fact he's never fully given up on minecraft since and still remains very relevant to mc youtube is a feat of its own.

I think people like Techno and TFC deserve their own Remembrance tier, but them being put at the top of their respective categories is a nice touch!
I think that Luke TheNotable should be on the list under "shaped the game." He was responsible for starting one of the most successful Minecraft trends and quite possibly changed how Let's Plays were done from that point
I know that it’s not the point of the list, but I feel like mentioning how great he is on his own right. His comedy is really funny, and he seems to have a grasp on the world population of 10 year olds

@@doomchromee8648not really "sudden" but unexpected for sure, he had to have a leg amputated in the months before, and often with people at his age who have amputations because of (if I remember correctly) unchecked diabetes have a rough time in recovery.
I really hope that where ever he is now, he is feeling much better without his arm and leg hurting him anymore

I really REALLY miss SethBling's redstone videos. They are genuine creativity showcases that have nothing to do with profit-oriented clickbaits nowadays. Good ol' days.
Nice video man. One creator I would add is Hat Films, the makers of heaps of the OG Minecraft trailers, and also the people who got me into the game way back when. I guess they're kinda under the Yogscast banner, but they have a pretty unique identity outside of the Yogs, and they're still streaming Minecraft today!

this is a really nice way of putting it. to put a creator “above” another wouldn’t be fair, but it’s undoubtable that some creators had different levels of impact. you did a really good job at showing how important each and every player is at crafting the games legacy

I like the way you made this tierlist, it feels nicer to make every "tier" it's own category/group for the different ways our minecraft creators have influenced the community in their own way. instead of just "i think this one is better than that one". because really you cant seperate this community into good or bad, that doesn't really sit right with me. they've all put in their own efforts and their own sparks; map makers, redstoners, builders, programmers, and all the various content creators. even some of the people not actually playing the game, such as the many kinds of artists!
this community goes so, so deep. and every creator has made a contribution of their own to make it what it is today.

i'm french (make fun of me now) and I grew up watching Aypierre's vids. i'm happy to see him in that list because he DEFINITELY has had some kind of influence on the way us french play the game. with his "let's play mécanique" with crazy old school redstone and really big builds. as well as his team, "les patricks" playing every single sethbling map known to existence against the Spanish. i absolutely love this guy. so much nostalgia
I'm glad you mentioned Henzoid. I learned who they were a while back and it astounded me how many maps they did that I've seen YTers play.
I find it funny how PewDiePie, jschlatt, Ludwig, and Pointcrow are considered Minecraft RUclipsrs. It's like saying that you are a mechanic just because you jump started your car once.
Edit: so yeah I agree PewDiePie deserves to be on this list. However I still hold strong with the rest. Schlatt himself doesn't even consider himself a Minecraft RUclipsr and doesn't want to be associated with it, PointCrow is best known for his Zelda videos (which Zeldatubers are their own category), and Ludwig is... well do I even need to explain? But yes they've made some Minecraft content in the past... I just don't think it's the thing that explains what their channel is about. Another one I thought of was Ted Nivison. Where's his Minecraft videos? Nothing against these creators by all means - I just wouldn't personally put them on this list :/

Pewdiepie and Jshlatt deserve it. Both helped revive Minecraft and Pewdiepie's mc series is a 10/10 better than 90% of Netflix shows.

QSMP really is helping and improving the whole mc community! Both by giving people from all different cultures and languages some exposure to things they might not be aware of and by giving viewers new people to love and binge watch! I may not know more than 2-5 words of portuguese but all the brazilian streamers are so fun to watch! Especially Cellbit, since he has a translater in his twitch.

Since consuming Minecraft content since 2011 (basically over half of my life), I am SO happy to see Mithzan & PaulsoaresJr here. im curious where Chimneyswift and Slyfoxhound would go, but all of them have shaped my childhood and now adulthood in ways I can't fit without a lot of words. I do also think Sethbling should've been on here, no doubt about it. Map making is the backbone of this community if you don't at least recognize modders as well.
Love the list and theres dozens of creators I could talk about, but its still so good.
Didn't think I'd see TapL there, but I'm glad I did. I miss those "Minecraft but" videos where he had loads of people compete. Was always fun to see who was in the slap fight of the final two, with or without full gear and weapons.

Techno Dan and Stampy will always be my top 3. The days of grinding potatoes, Testing in the lab with trayaurus and adding signs to the love garden will stay in my heart forever.
I didn’t know who techno was until about one year before he passed. But now every time I think of Minecraft I will think of him in kind. He was truly amazing.
I know the channel is inactive for a long while but I feel like ExplodingTNT kinda need a spot as he have his fair share of influence as well. I first heard of Failboat because of him lol.

Big one I'm missing (or overlooked) is SeaNanners, he did so much to popularize this game, I kinda doubt the game would be this big today if not for him.
Team Crafted was the Golden Era of minecraft content creators. It felt nostalgic to look back at the contents back then.

So glad that you referenced PSJR, he was truly a legend back in the day, making the (or one of the) first Minecraft Let’s play in 2010, and still producing content. Also TrueMU, as his mc universe modded let’s play was what brought me into Minecraft.

Your callouts for ones not on the list made me very happy as I'm subbed to at least 30% of them.
I feel like nowadays there is such a big disconnect in fan bases between the old era of Minecraft RUclipsrs, and what we now call just the shortened "MCYT". It feels crazy to a lot of us that people like Seth Bling, PopularMMOS, and PewDiePie didn't get in, among many others, but it does make sense. The new MCYT fanbase is young, and when they started watching RUclips, Minecraft was kinda dead, until PewDiePie and DreamSMP. And by that point, most of those RUclipsrs that didn't make it had stopped creating Minecraft content, or very rarely uploaded a video/map, etc.
Except PewDiePie, without him most of these new RUclipsrs and streamers wouldn't have a fanbase, like bruh he single handedly made the game popular again

With Beef’s TCG, Tango’s minigames, Joe’s TO SCALE pinball machine… I am constantly astounded by what they manage to create on the Hermitcraft server.
Every season manages to astound me. Like look at the past two seasons, Boatem was absolutely insane, and season 9 is arguably the most chaotic season in Hermitcraft history

And Grian was co-owner of Wynncraft
And Iskall is co-owner of Vault Hunters

Direwolf20 should definitely be a part of this list. He started making videos on the modded side of Minecraft way back in the day (and still continues daily uploads 10+ years later). He defined and gave a platform to mods that has shaped Minecraft into being even more versatle and creative than it already was.

@@Hmmmmmmm2 Long story short, he's got a history of being racist, sexist, and anti-semetic, both regarding his own content and the people he endorses. You can look up the details yourself it you'd like, it's been a while since I've brushed up on the details and I don't quite feel like looking into it.
And before you say "but he was just making edgy jokes it doesn't mean anything" - it does, actually! One of the most effective ways to radicalize unsuspecting people is to start with little jokes, things that seem a bit off but can be chalked up to 'harmless' fun, and then gradually lead them down the rabbit hole once they're fine with that much. And even if it wasn't intentional - although it's clearly not unintentional if he keeps doing it despite being called out for it and publically 'apologizing' - it doesn't matter. He's got such a gigantic fanbase that, statistically speaking, many of them are going to be impressionable enough to genuinely believe the sort of sentiments he perpetuates and go down the rabbit hole themselves.
So, yeah, I can see why Phoenix, or anyone with decency, wouldn't want to associate himself with someone like that.
You should include Callmecarson, Cscoop, and It’s_Jawsh because they were the creators of smp live which really helped kickstart the resurgence of MC

No matter how extensive a list like this gets, some inevitably fall through the cracks, which only serves to highlight how enormously rich and diverse the whole Minecraft space is.
In my mind, one could never do justice to the whole space with a single tier list, and that is the greatest compliment of all
In my opinion, I think PeenixSC should be in A tier.

Dunno if he’s on the list but Vechs was a massive influence to shaping the hardcore mapmaking scene in the early days of minecraft. He definitely deserves a spot on this list
As a French, I'm proud to see that Aypierre is getting some recognition outside of QSMP
I find it astounding how minecraft content has changed over the years, and the game would not be as large as it is without these content creators. Also, nice tier list Phoenix 👍

Something that I know is kinda niche but still very important (to some, myself included) is the amount of effort that Pixlriffs, ZloyXP, and Lyarrah put into the Hermitcraft Recap- they’ve been doing it for so long and I really respect them for it
Perfect tier list except you need a tier for pvp RUclipsr smps ie: when you die _____ happens (like life steal) cuz there are a lot of smps like that
