Mr. Weilenmann, I have been following your work for some time now. I finally had to let you know how thankful I am for your tying videos. Thank you for taking the time to teach us some of the techniques you've mastered. You truly have a gift for tying and teaching. Almost in every video I learn another technique that I can apply to another pattern besides the one your teaching at the time. One of my favorites is your CDC & ELK. It's quick and best of all productive. Two of my favorite qualities in a Fly Pattern. It's January 2nd, 2015. I hope you and your family had a wonderful previous year, and I hope this one is even better. Thank you agsin from all of us. God bless and take care.
    - Justin Aldrich.

10 years ago. Simple for even a novice such as I. As with all your videos, your technique and explanation of same is extraordinary. Thanks, for this and, really all, your videos. I wish others were as generous as to the materials you use listed below your videos. For those others, please take note. Thanks again.

Thanks, Hans. I've been using your examples for my ties for years. You are one of the all-time bests.

Hans, thanks for designing this one. This has been my go to dry fly for years. It'll sound crazy, but this fly works great during mayfly hatches.

Danny Mc G Danny, if you take only one pattern from my channel - this is the one to save, to tie, and above all to use.
      Cheers,
      Hans

Great fly. It became one of my favourites last season. I added some threads of zelon just for the fun of it. Did work. Thanks!

Everyone should have this fly in their box. It takes fish when all else has failed. A great design Hans, thanks.

      *chuckle*
Shhhhhhh.... it is a secret pattern ;-)
Nah, it is not - and yes, I am happy to hear you also find it effective.
      Cheers,
      Hans W

On the local river today. Cold, windy but found a pod of fish rising to large dark olives that refused all my go-to patterns. Tied on a CDc & Elk and caught one of these stubborn fish 1st cast followed by a few more.

Yes Jan, both I and a friend tried that - independently. The deer hair version worked better for both of us.

    Hi Hans,
I am tying a bunch of your great fly yet and two questions came in mind:
    1. what's the range of hook sizes you use for it?
    2. are you using any floatant for it? I did so last season, but only for the deer hair.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers Jan

    Hans,
thanks for the quick answer. By the way, did you ever try to combine a snowshoe wing with the CDC technique you use in your CDC & Elk?
    Cheers
