MR.pilgrim i would love of you make a video on christone ingram. He is a great blues guitarist and also please analyse or make a video on his playing like you did on john mayer
You are the only one youtuber that i can see every time without torturing myself and having a GAS attack. Cause you use every time the same guitar and i love it cause you demonstrate pratically that having 200 guitars and trillions of expensive pedals doesn't make you a good guitarist.
I figure we better enjoy and appreciate Pilgrim while we can; he's probably going to get stolen away by Hollywood as the next leading man heart throb at some point. Man, those eyes...
The title of Grandmaster of Funk Guitar is quite tricky to decide, but Al is definitely a master of the style! Always have been a fan of the playing style, it's a good workout and a test of rhythmic ability! Cheers for this lesson!
Great tribute,Al McKay is my favorite guitarist. His work with EWF is legendary. He doesn’t get enough credit for his overall work.Al McKay co wrote “September” “Best of my Love” by the Emotions. When Al McKay join EWF in 1973.That was a major game changer for their music.Awesome video!
I watch all the big RUclips guitar video people. Your videos have their own style which makes them more enjoyable to watch. Another great one here. Keep up the good work.
I can't get enough of these vids. One of the best Guitar channels out there. It reminds me of the joy of playing instead of the gear and other distractions.
That actually moved me! While I stick with simple rock and simple blues, (stuff I can fake my way thru!), I always wanted to be able to stretch into some funky chords! Listen to Brian May in "Another One Bites the Dust", and Robin Trower in "Somebody Calling", for examples of great rock/blues artists that effectively threw a bit of funk into the mix!
PRINCE was the dopest! thats eariler funk Jimmy Nolan, jesse johnson , sugarfoot eddie Hazel. Tony Maiden man Al Mckay EWF guitarist. Man he great but you gotta keep digging
Oohhh!!!PLEASE.....another great lesson and NOW Funk ! Broken down ..Better than the Master of FUNK himself could break it down...just COME ON Already !!! You just take music apart into such digestible peices, we can assimilate AND I Thank You !
Yes what i think of genius of funk guitare i think about al mackay tony maiden and niles rodgers but there is so many other genius but those 3 come first in my head
Another great video Thom. I'm a big fan of Leo Nocentelli of the Meters and of course Nile Rodgers of Chic but I definitely need to listen to more Al McKay.
Awesome video :) Gotta love Al McKay. When it comes to funk and funk rock, gotta check out Eddie Hazel too. Whole other can of worms there but equally good.
Great Lesson! I would love to see you do Eddie Hazel Jr.'s "Maggot Brain" (Yeah, I know it was Funkadelic, but for me, it was all about Eddie's playing)
Killer player. Too bad he never found big success on his own. His sound was a big reason I got a delay pedal. I wanted to play those killer jams from Maggot Brain.

great to showcase Al, grandmaster with Earth Wind & Fire. Riff to ‘September’ is a masterpiece - was that him? Another great day, Pilgrim. As you have shown us over and over - ‘it’s in the detail...’
I know the video wasn't about piano styles, but your piano playing sounds really nice as well. I heard a little "Wildfire" notes by Michael Martin Murphey towards the end there. Nice. Shalom.
I do love this video! Thanks! I'm a fan of Prince first of all and also EWF and Funk in general. I would put like several times if it was possible. Don' T stop making videos about soul and funk. O(+>
great vid as always ,, can you show us princes cream off the MTV live ,, but ,, without his guitar stuff , just his atititude and carismah .. you can show us the way ...
Hello I subscribed to your channel a while ago as now became one of my favourite Can you plz tell me what guitar strat you playing Or can u guide me to any link Thanks
Hey. Why haven't you covered Dick Dale on the channel yet? He laid the foundations for so much music to come! I'd love to see you dissect some of his songs (that aren't Miserlou haha). I'm a new subscriber, I found you this week while I was researching Scotty Moore's guitar playing. Stay safe.
Just when I thought: who is ever gonna openly appreciate Al McKay?, I find your video. Too bad you didn’t show more EWF work where he is really famous for.
Enjoy this video with Study Guide: ➤ bit.ly/2TwubBX
I did not know this guitarist, . The good thing is that now I have a new guitarist to listen to in my spare time! THX greetings from Argentina!
Guitar Pilgrim can you please show us the Gary Moore style.
I have an old Al Mckay instructional cassette covering his rhythm playing - It's very cool!
I totally dig your content Pilgrim!!!

I’ll tell you who else played a mean funky guitar, and that was Bobby Womack.
