This is so pleasing to watch. One of my favorite days is market day, there’s something about a fridge full of food that just says “abundance”. And even though it’s a lot of work sometimes, it feels so good.

Can you do an in-depth video on how to clean veggies and fruit and when its best to wash produce, so it doesn’t go bad and more ways to store produce after washing it?
Oh my gosh you are a gem. I do more frozen produce these days. Your dedication to that whole cleaning process when you get home is amazing, but I know I wont do all that. (I’ll do what I can tho!) I found your channel for the eco cleaning but I am thrilled you are a vegan with vegan tips too. ❤

I loved this. Please take us with you to anywhere else you shop. I love learning! That fridge is so bomb. I also want to know if you plan your meals P.s. you can do no wrong!! Everything your brain thinks or does is just *chefs kiss* I swear. Such a gem!
heY! i think it would be pretty interesting how you maintain fresh your vegetables and fruits an dhow you storage them and idk if you frow some of the vegetables :)
This was so aesthetically pleasing to watch but also very informative. I wanted to get reusable bags for a few yrs now and I actually just did it after watching. I love grocery shopping and market days so I can’t wait to use them!
It helps to see someone else's routine! Thank you for this video girl! Although I have my techniques, I really appreciate seeing how you deal with critters and what you use to store your produce. Nice fridge by the way! 😊❤️
Definitely love this video! I usually end up grocery shopping after work and end up too lazy to do a thorough clean / prep my produce properly for it to last longer. I end up doing the bare min lol. I have heard that you should store your potatoes and onions in different areas, something about either the moisture or ethylene gas. Since I started storing them separately, I do notice them lasting forever.
This was very pleasing to watch 😌✨ I just got home from the grocery store and I also love washing everything immediately so I can properly store it in my fridge. And I put the carrot greens/ parsley stems/ Kohlrabi leafs in a jar with water for my bunny to enjoy throughout the week 💖
Thank you for the detail you went into with produce shopping! When I try to go, I realize I have no idea what I’m looking for and just grab anything. I know what to be more aware of now!
Pleaseee!!! I would love a combo of grocery shopping + meals 🤩 I love love loveeee your videos! They are so calming and enjoyable to watch. By far my favorite channel ❤️
omg i used to watch you religiously and just found my way back to your channel after moving in to college which is in philly as well! love your vids ❤️
I use just vinegar to get my produce clean and it's great! Just soak em for like 10min and rinse off, I will rub them with baking soda sometimes too if I feel they're really dirty. Plus no soap scum :D
Did you wash the greens with soap and rinse with a water/vinegar mixture as well? Also, how long do you leave them to dry before storing? As always, I love your content but I especially loved this video! Would love to see more around storing produce/other food items in general. I’m also curious as to how long your produce stays fresh when stored this way?!
yes. i just pat them with a tea towel and store. i like to leave some water on most of my greens so they stay crisp, like keeping fliwerse fresh in a vase of water.
I also wash my fruits and veggies very thoroughly, so I really enjoyed watching this video. Also learned some new things! Very informative and oddly satisfying video haha
I clicked so fast! Great video, it was very informative; I didn’t know what “Castile” soap was before this, it looks cool, I’m gonna check it out. I love seeing people talk about reducing waste & being plant based, thank you for sharing!
Great tips and I had no idea about the avocado button! Can u just wash your produce in vinegar? Does it make it last longer you think. I'm trying soooo hard to eat healthy. This video was so inspiring. Thank you 🙏🍄🍓🥬🥑
you can do whatever you feel comfortable with; Ive done vinegar only in the past. i wouldnt say it makes it last longer, no. In fact if u use too much and soak it too long the acid will breakdown the food.
referring to the black avocados only, it helps determime whether theyre too far gone because multiple people squeezing them in the market leads to bruising making it harder to tell. Since theyre ripe, they’re the ones i eat immediately usually same day.
@@abetweene thank you for your reply! I agree definitely good on the same day, I just find so many buttons pulled off instore but that could happen in transportation etc. also yes definitely need a v gentle touch,!
Your fridge is so peaceful! So, in regards to washing stuff, I have heard that some produce, like berries for example, will go bad faster is they are washed long before you eat them. But other stuff, that usually gets sprayed with water in the store, seems like it makes sense. My only pet peeve is washing things in the sink. It’s probably just me, but I’m grossed out by people who soak greens or herbs in their kitchen sinks because I think most sinks are filthy. We wash our hands in there, pour out beverages that have our saliva in it, etc, so unless you were to give the sink a really good scrubbing before you do that, I’m just concerned there’s a lot of bacteria in there. I usually wash my greens in a bowl, in fact, I bought a big hard plastic restaurant storage bin to wash greens in, specifically things like chard because it’s so dirty and big. So I don’t wash anything in the sink, but rather I rinse it under the tap.
yes, in summer ive been drying them in the sun before storage which prevents them from going soggy in the fridge but in the winter ive been known to just store them in an airtight container and wash just before eating as well. Also my sink is always cleaned and dried before this process.
im liking this, new to your channel. girl i aint never washed veggies before putting them in the fridge. seeing them critters making me think twic about my life now hahah
Very pleasing to watch. Tip though it's an error I see many people do. Do not store your onions with your potatoes. Onions emit ethylene which will make your potatoes spout and spoil faster.
I pat them with the tea towel at 7:06 but still leave some leftover moisture for certain greens because it can be helpful in keeping them crisp like romaine lettuce which can withstand being completely submerged in water and stays really crunchy. for those that need more wicking though you can place cloth or paper towel inside the container to absorb any excess.
i always love watching your videos, always learning something new:) p.s i normally wash as i go and this video really made me realize why i shouldn't lol. // you put soap on them first and then the vinegar? if so, can it be any kind of soap ? how long do you suggest to let them soak in the water?
correct. i use castile because it’s advertised for use on produce, so other types i couldnt say for sure. I just agitate them to make sure i losen any debris in crevices like the tops of apples, etc but dont leave to soak. same with the vinegar

ok, it helps to have an elevated tray in the container so the berries dont sit in their own moisture as condensation forms, but i generally only buy berries right when i want to eat them so they only spend 1-3 days tops in the fridge or since their in an airtight container anyway, you can store them tight away and just wash them right before eating.
