- Farming Simulator isn't what comes to mind when one thinks about esports. However, while it initially may sound mundane, this game of cultivating and harvest crops actually has developed a competitive scene that can become quite intense once you get into it.
Competitive Farming Simulator events have quietly existed for several years both online and at various events, but recently its developer Giants Software decided to put support into the community and launch the Farming Simulator League.
This is the story of Farming Simulator esports. For more info: fsl.giants-sof...

Did you expect this game to have a competitive scene? What other titles do you think we should take a look at in future videos?
Maybe Minecraft PvP?
Pokémon vgc
Online scrabble or online hanabi. Both online adaptions of real games, but there is competition and intense strategy none the less
It would be nice if you guys could cover Gwent next. It is the more mature card game compared to HS and LotR and has one of the coolest competitive stages in tournaments! They even had one tournament in a castle
Dance Dance Revolution or Sonic Riders
The perfect esport for Dafran
Well, he was a great feeder so...
Hahahaha that made me laugh so hard
Yes!
LETS GROW!!!
Dafran is streamig right now 🤪
I love how Farming Simulator has more developer support than Smash
*Cough* TF2 *Cough*
say what now
*cough* Overwatch *cough*
Yeah I tried explaining this to my grandpa and he was completely lost. "Well I've been farming every day for 50 years and the only competing I do is with the bank"
A man out of time if you think about it. He has no idea the crazy shit that the people he's helping feed have created lol
tfw farming simulator gets more tournament support from Tractor Companies than Nintendo is willing to give to competitive Smash Bros, Splatoon, and Arms
Someone else who remembers arms? I thought I was the only one.
After watching Akshon Esports videos, i know that Nintendo gave up on the Western competitive scene of ARMS, but i believe it continues to thrive in Japan. Among the three games, I know that Splatoon is the game that Nintendo mostly supports as an esport. But yeah, the devs of this farm sim are willing to make an esport out of their game, while Nintendo refuses to support an actual fighting game with a competitive scene that grew by itself. All they have to do is capitalise on the opportunity and officially support it...
@@argenta7658 We have a video on the ARMS esports scene if you haven't seen it yet!
@@Akshonesports Oh I have.
And Mario Kart!?
That's the one that surprises me the most
Imagine having to tell someone “I’m a professional Farming Simulator player”
You will have to explain so much.
As if that matters people don't give a crap about what's between the words "professional" and "player" it's all the same to them, saying I'm professional League of Legends player or professional Farming Simulator player is the same they will cringe at both COZ IT DOESN'T MATTER...
@@blitzzz75 partially true
@BlauTrackDuck assuming you win
@@blitzzz75 What makes you think it doesn't matter?
This is what dafran is playing now
IN REAL LIFE
I honestly find that so funny there's an esport for a simulator for farming. Esports are becoming bigger everyday and it's so cool to see what farming simulator has become, I always knew it existed but I didn't know there was a league. Great video btw
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
imagine one day there'll be a corporate/office simulator esport lol
@@andre51605 Then real team management could be utilise

Whats OWL?
@@jensenlopez2944 Abbreviation for Overwatch League

Finally, an esport for the hardworking man.
Imagine having a house building game, but using the real-life technical paramaters of building a house.
even when its about farming they still put out a banger video
Come on, Nintendo. This is a farm sim! *YOU* have a *fighting game!*
They have MULTIPLE competitive readt game series and they dont do anything with them
Man, I remember seeing this game at Walmart and thinking "What an absolute joke" and completely dismissing it. It's cool to see competitive scenes grow around unlikely games.
Same.. I have felt guilty thinking about the people who worked on the game.
Thinking to myself... Man all that work for a game nobody is going to buy or play.
@@dnegel9546 oh don't worry, the farming simulator is actually one of the biggest german IPs. We have lots of simulator games over here, and frankly, most are utter garbage (yes, we have lots of memes on that). But farming simulator is a genuinly well crafted calming "strategy" game. It is honestly not all too different to ur average switch farming game or PC survival on an island.
You manage resources, strategize investment, build "relationships" (with traders), farm.. duh, and much more. Contrary to the other games where you mostly farm from top down on a small crop field, you manage a realistic farm
Boomers: games cause violence
Gamers: hehe tractor goes vroom
_"High octane gameplay"_ are not words I ever would have associated with a farming simulator
When a Farming game has more esport support than Smash
OMG SO COOL! I've never been more happy to see BIG COMPANIES sponsoring things, but seriously, way to go professional sports teams who sponsor esports, and tractor brands supporting gaming, so amazing!
Ok, this is actually really cool and now I want to get this game.
Do it!
@@FarmingSimulator Lmao
haha when ur thinking about buying a game and the official channel responds you kinda have to huh
I remember owning the very first every released version of this game. Very chunky textures, glitches but me and my brother had a blast discovering the island where the game took place and taking care of our crops. I'm glad the developers continued and the community kept growing into an esport.
How was this not considered for the Olympics? It's perfect.
at this point there is probably a pizza maker esport hidden somewhere
PAPA'S PIZZERIA BABYYYY WOOOOOO
There ain’t not way John Deere is more gamer friendly than Nintendo.

I’m actually one of the people who enjoy playing this game! And I’ve heard of the league too!
I love gaming for these niche , small competitive gaming communities. Through the Tetris Championship I found the wonderful competitive Dr. Mario community.
Dafran when OWL doesnt workout :
Here's another like for the most interesting esports channel on RUclips. Would love to see you guys do some analysis on the OWL off-season moves and what it means for the upcoming season when all is said and done.

John Deere sponsoring an e sport team is hilarious
The more you explained this the more interesting it sounds. Loads of decisions/nuances to make competitive play really good.
Bro im german and never heard of it before. But that could be because im not from the South of Germany.
Same. NRW here.
I know this game has always a big presence at Gamescom, and has always huge sale numbers, but I didn't knew it was THAT big

I also have never heard of it
I want more of these unexpected competitive scenes!
The F1 eSports scene might be worth a look. Great video !
thank you for this KKonaW
This changed my view on the game. Thanks
i thought this was a shitpost but now im thinking about the most effective strategies to farm wheat
I love and hate the fact that this actually looks much better than a lot of other esports!
Akshon blessing my morning with an upload.
Anything can be an esport at this point
i remember first time i saw a fs poster at my friends house and since i live on a farm i looked it up i got the game and i have never missed a game since then 2011 to 2019 happy to see it growing
“What do you do for a living?”
“I compete in games.”
“Cool, what games?”
“F-Farming simulator...”
“Visible confusion”
fucking hilarious how at 7:00 the match up was 2 kids & a 30 year old virgin vs a kid, 50 year old man & a 30 year old virgin
Finally, a true competitive game
This is just mindblowing to me... well I guess no matter what type of game is in question and if it has enough support and popularity, it CAN become an esport.
I absolutely love FSL.
It kinda mixes two of my absolute favorite games (League of Legends, and Farming Simulator), and i really like it. It's quite entertaining, and fun.
I also learing agriculture, and agricultural engineering at school.
So yeah, Competitive Farming Simulator exists, and it's actually well made, and fun.
this is the strangest and best rapper I've ever heard about
top tier reporting fellas
Honestly I'm pretty suprised what the competitive gaming scene can bring
been watching this esport for 2 months, actually really entertaining.
They actually did have an English tournament at Saw Con 2020
I wonder how the devs discussed this idea. They had to be like "Yo guys I got an idea and don't laugh at me. How about competitive farming sinulator?" and the others were chuckling and saying "Sure lol".
Are we not going to talk about that missed fist bump at 7:01 ?
2:43 - the best goal to win a game yet
Farmers starts playing this
Everybody why do i hear boss music?
I would like a video on Vainglory, a mobile MOBA with a thriving eSports scene that shot itself in it's own foot by giving up its originality. It used to be 3v3 with all touch controls but it added a 5v5 mode, virtual joysticks, and PC cross-platform and all players lost interest as it was now practically identical to competitors. VG also did not advertise itself well, leading to competitors drawing in more new players.
Nah... There's *no way* this is actually a thing... Right?
I said the same thing after starting this video
It's real and with some serious money up for grabs too!
@@Akshonesports I-I can't believe this. Why is it so deep?! Why does it seem like it's actually super fun?!?! Thanks for sharing this with the world, I'm actually gonna look this up.

Sorry if it came out rude, I was just... in shock, you know. Really hope Farming Simulator League gets even more coverage because it's pretty fun to watch!
Psssst: you didn't hear it from me, but take a look into the Sonic Rider's competitive scene. It's a large group of fans that are trying to remaster the game and bring in an esports scene around the 2005 Sonic Riders game. They even make balance changes and pretty big overhauls of the core gameplay that make Sonic Riders a genuine one of a kind racing game.
Let's grow dudes!!!
Thanks to this vdo, I've been a fan of this esport for a year now!
I'm now realizing I just learned how to harvest :/
You know, it's kinda funny that a farming simulator manages to get a relatively successful eSports scene while so many other games designed for it (eSports) flopped. Battlefield V comes to mind.
From OWL to FSL, Dafran might enjoy this
**the entire population of ireland wants to know your location**
True
nice april fools joke lmao
Edit: oh its actually legit
anything can be a esport if you invest in your community first and wallets last
I checked the upload date twice to make sure this wasn't just an elaborate April Fool's video. It is not an April Fool's video.
It very much isn't. :)
This legit sounds stressful but a little fun too.
To think that mods can really lift a game. (CS, TF2, DOTA) (PROJECT M, SLIPPI) (HINT, NINTENDO, HINT)
I’m not gonna lie the way you saint Paris Saint Germain hurt me

Let's grow dude!!!
I really love these esport related contents.
I would also like to see the content about Pokemon VGC and/or Smogon competitive scene. I think its a community with very very long history. The game is surprisingly very complicated. Huge non-competitive fan base. However, the competitive scenes are not so popular.
Yup, imma just subscribe now. This is too good.
Never thought that I would be intrested in Farming Sim... At all.
I really want to play this game mode though!

We're at the point where every games can be e-sport. I wouldn't suprissed if there's a flight sim e-sport
theres a literal drone racing league, so it wouldnt surprie me to find a virtual flight sim e-sport
Nintendo have Smash, Arms, Splatoon, and Super Mario Bros royale. They can supports the competitive scene of these competition but they continuously ignores it!
Sad but true.
this honestly doesn't seem too bad
I mean this is finally my esport
Anything that comes from a community based mod is always better.
it's nice to see the devs actually care so much for their esports scene and willing to hear from their community and fans. unlike some devs.
Dafran dosent play this, he lives this
