- Join me as I review LEGO Harry Potter 5378 Hogwarts Castle from 2007, a 943 piece LEGO set based on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and themed on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This was the only 2007 LEGO Harry Potter set and included 9 minifigures including Rubeus Hagrid, Ron Weasley, Albus Dumbledore, Death Eater, Severus Snape, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy and possibly the rarest and most collectable LEGO Harry Potter minifigure: Dolores Jane Umbridge.

LEGO's 5378 Hogwarts Castle from 2007 was the only LEGO release for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and has become especially collectable because of its rarity. The main building of Hogwarts includes features such as the Gryffindor common room fireplace where Harry Potter speaks to Sirius Black and Hogwarts High Inquisitor Dolores Umbridge's office where she gives Harry Potter lines for telling lies.
This third edition LEGO Hogwarts Castle also includes a second build featuring The Room of Requirement and training aids for Dumbledore's Army. LEGO also recreates the Herbology greenhouse of Pomona Sprout including a pair of LEGO Mandrakes which are very cool elements.
As one of the rarest LEGO Harry Potter sets, 5378 Hogwarts Castle commands a high resale value and not least because it contains some of the most valuable Harry Potter minifigures including a Professor Dolores Umbridge worth over $80. As well as reviewing the 5378 Hogwarts Castle, we'll also be reviewing the minifigures in detail and comparing them to LEGO Harry Potter minifigures from other sets.
LEGO Harry Potter 5378 Hogwarts Castle also includes some magical creatures and no less than two LEGO Thestrals, a magical skeletal horse which can only be seen by those who have seen death. Of the five LEGO Hogwarts Castle sets, this is among the best and a very desirable addition to any serious LEGO Harry Potter collection.

The tile with, as you correctly assumed, elder futhark runes reads ”lego” on the middle and ”leg godt play well” in the tiny print on the top and bottom. ”Leg godt” literally translates to ”play well” in danish, but you probably knew that already.

To me this is a really oddly designed set, with all the gaps in the walls. It's like they wanted to keep the cost down but didn't want to make it smaller, so they only half built it and called it a day lol

I still love this Snape face. And the Death Eater (Bellatrix if I'm not mistaken) is also great. This Umbridge still has the superior hairpiece (which was surprisingly cheap to buy second handed compared to the rest of the figure). But the best thing about the set is definitely the greenhouse in my opinion. It's still the only appearance of that iconic location (although that's gonna change) and the mandrakes were pretty cute.
When I was about nine I was just getting into Lego and wanted to build a set and decided to take inspiration the green house but ever since then I could not figure out where I got that from I looked at Harry potter Hogwarts sets remembering the sticker on the brown panel but couldn't fined where I got it from but here we are years and years later I finally remember!!! Thank you so much this means so much to me I'm about to cry thank you!!!

well i think we can all agree the Holly Grail in HP minifigures is the Voldemort with the glowing hair in the Graveyard set. the skeletons are also unique. Lucius and Pettigrew are also unique.

Pretty sure my mom did find all the pieces and put it in a bag like with the rest of my sets.
If it weren’t for the Order of the Phoenix themed Forbidden Forest set coming later this year, I would try and get the Umbridge figure from this set or the bricktober pack. I’m still kind of annoyed that my mum couldn’t snatch up the bricktober pack but my she would never spend 70 dollars *minimum* for 4 minifigures

According to the Lego Harry Potter: Characters of the Magical World book the death eater is actually a dummy for training Dumbeldore's Army.
You should have rebuild it in speed build

Jesus, it’s beautiful. Oh and for people who don’t mind buying fakes: On AliExpress, there are multiple copies of the old Hogwartts sets. Such as: Hogwarts Castle, Hogwarts Castle and Hogwarts castle. Haha, yeah. Most of the old Hogwarts Castle sets. Other: Old Hagrids hut and.. DIAGON ALLEY FROM 2010, PRAISE ZEUS! (Note: as stated earlier, these are fake. Fake does not mean they are manufactured or approved by LEGO. They aren’t legal to produce per say, but they aren’t illegal to own. Buyer beware: These take normally a month to arrive. Due to COVID, they take about 2-3 months. Oh and, ya won’t get COVID buyin’ these bad boys of AliExpress. As stated before, 2-3 months arrival date now. But do take caution when opening.)

I was very paranoid about buying this set because of the number of fakes out there. The biggest problem with the fake sets is that the parts often end up getting mixed in with genuine LEGO.

I never understood why Lego only made this one set from Order of the Phoenix, then abandoned the rest of the movies in their original set lineup...
I say original because with lisenced franchises like star wars and harry potter lego does remade versions every year... Only years later they came back and did more OOTP, HBP, DH.

I gotta say, whilst I love the 4867 Hogwarts Castle and think it’s still good to this day, this set is just not good looking. The oddly large amount of Dark Grey in it doesn’t help, and is a terrible contrast with the Tan.

Actually that enigma was the Vanishing Cabinet. It was briefly mentioned in the Chamber of Secrets where Peeves destroys one to bail Harry out of detention with Filtch.
