As a $ struggling fisher, I totally love all your money saving hacks. This pool noodle video saves me money and upholstery in my vehicle from snags and tears. Thnx so much!!
As silly as it sounds this is one of the coolest kayak hack videos out there. THANK YOU. I live in Tampa Bay & in the blink of an eye, the weather is turned for the worst. Pool noodles will now be the reason my family no longer loses things, LOL Thank you again.
Those were all great, but the the last one: making a cover for the rod with lure-BRILLIANT! I will be implementing that one, and I am sure it will make canoe/kayak fishing less frustrating.
Ya don't need a weather vane to know which way the wind blows..one video is enough to know you're good people..this old Air Force veteran appreciates you very very much..God Bless you and yours..and thanks..P.S.I don't know why I didn't think of that lure guard trick..✌
That last hack for fishing rods/lures is brilliant. So many Anglers on boats and kayaks fish barefooted. That could be a great Safety item for that purpose too. I'm doing that for my rods tomorrow morning, today got a little busy. But I bought the pool noodles earlier yesterday evening for this hack. Thanks again!
First video I've seen of yours that I know of but here's what use a pool noodle for my kayak, I cut about a 3 or 4 inch piece and slice into 3rds or size that will scrunch up to plug scupper hole. Cheap to make and works, you can make make many with one noodle. Thanks for sharing.
The drip rings, brilliant! The rod sleeves, brilliant! My paddle floats so I'm good there but the other two ideas I'm implementing for sure. Thanks for the info!
my paddles float but I see it has applications for the kids to identify their paddles without fighting for , mine no mine or searching on the water too hard, black paddles on a dark water...eek
How about placing a thicker (or multiple) sections of pool noodle to act as layered drip stops? All you need is enough to make the paddle float. Once you know that, you can cut to sections. For example, if 4" makes the paddle float, you can add 2 1" drip stops to each end, and you've got drip stops and float covered. In the rare case the paddle sections separate, both parts would float.
Loving the lure guard idea. Great safety feature for sea fishing when choppy or re-beaching. I worry about hooks flying everywhere in case of an accident.
I Love It!! It feels like a part of my body. It's a Pelican, the cheap one. But I don't want to get out there doing crazy stuff, just put it in a little lake a few miles away. I caught the biggest bluegill I've ever seen today and some fish I've never seen before. I think someone emptied an aquarium in the lake. It's easier than people had me believing it would be.
I have picked up on a number of your noodle hacks. I just purchased my first ever kayak to do a little fishing, and added a stabilizer outrigger, and although it helps a great deal, however it is awkward and time consuming to install. At 73, I need the extra stability. After I had done that, I remembered an old Radison canoe I had back in the 70s that had foam sponsons on the side for stability. Have you ever experimented with using pool noodles attached directly to the side of a kayak for extra stability? I have a Pelican Blitz, 9.5 ft.
I have a 7 foot one piece rod. I split a noodle down a side, at the top used a nylon tie, few inches down from top, squeezing one end tight. I use it as a rod protector. You can get the rod tip to slide pass the closed end, so you might have to seal the center hole with something. Next time I might cut a piece of sponge put into the end hole, before zip tying closed.
I trip with pool noodles and camp on rocky islands. They are great for slipping under my fibreglass kayak to protect the bottom when pulling it up onto smooth rocks. Because they are round, they roll right under the kayak,as you pull it up on shore. When I arrive at the campsite, they also make good water toys.
Thanks. Uea I love useing pool noodles for something it wasnt ment for. But the one you did over the bait on your rod I did not no that one so thank you. Ive made one with plastic material from a big 18 wheeler tarp that was cut up bad. Then used velcro but the heat yea it didnt stay glued down. So noodles ill deff use that hak thanks bro. Hope yall doing Ok. Me not to good i do miss making videos though. Have a safe weekend. God bless
I'm still very new to kayak fishing so I grab a ascend 12t. Only been out a handful of times and already want to get a pedal yak. Lol. Hard to fish and paddle at the same time. Lol. Gotta start somewhere though and any yak is better than no yak. 🎣🇺🇸🎣
That was a pretty cool and simple video! I don't have a kayak yet, I'm unemployed due to bad health and have been turned down for disability numerous times. I'm looking for one in my area for I'm tired of fishing from the shore. I'm in terminal health and I like watching these videos to keep my spirits up. Can't really afford a 'good' kayak, so I'm looking for a good, used sit-on pedal drive. Thanks again for the know-how! Wish me luck! Respectfully, Tod..
I wonder how I can use those pool noodles as pontoons maybe slice one long way and figure out how to make the kayak more stable installed on the bottom sides I love your ideas though
Gee this was great! When you have little kids around you surely don't want them to get hooked somewhere w/ a fishing lure or hook. Your idea should do the trick. Also my drip cuffs never stay in place on my paddle. The noodle cuffs should do the trick of keeping them in place & water out of the kayak. Thanks!!
pool noodles also make good lure holders. i use one in my tackle box to hold my spoons and rooster tails. (the rack the tackle box came with didn't work so well so i simply cut a noodle to size and slipped it over the the little rack, now they don't go everywhere if my box gets jostled. just stick one hook in the noodle and your good)
Hack #3 is brilliant for those of us fishing in an inflatable K2 Explorer Kayak...I just know my husband is going to be hooking the kayak one of these days and we are gonna be swimming back to the dock. lol That was brilliant. Headed to Dollar Tree for some pool noodles now! :)
Yes sir. I like that. I use them screwed between studs in building cut slit in top to bottom few inches laying horizontal and push my poles in it closer to top of pole and bottom of rod just sits on floor. Got 10 poles stored recessed in for 1$
Another great use for those lure guards. You can slip them over the left and right side of cockpit to lay paddle do We quietly while stalking fish silently. I've been using pipe covering.
Great tips 👌. Love the rod one as I have 3 rods all with lures in my suv all season and have to always worry about the hooks snagging my upholstery while driving or loading camping gear. It seems a waste to cut and retie everytime.
I was just telling a friend that I wanted to come up with something to cover my lures and that was perfect!!! Thanks for the videos! By the way we were never locked down and I feel sorry for the ones who were! I just so happened to have an extra noodle from a previous project.
@@norcalbowhunter3264 I never said they would make it float better. Just that it would add buoyancy if you took on water, which it will because the noodles are displacing water.

Boy, That's really using your noodle!👍

Getting my wife out on the lake for the first time soon. Just wanted to say thanks you are going to make me look like a pro!
Thank you so much for this video with these great tips! I LOVE saving money, especially nowadays! 😊
That last one is pretty darn great. Thanks
I'm a new kayaker. This is very helpful and cost effective! Thank you for sharing!
Awesome. Welcome kayaks are amazing. What kind did you get?
I am very grateful for your words of wisdom and actions.
I clicked on this to be judgmental. Now i am rethinking my life choices because these are SOOOO BIG BRAINED!!! Amazing video dude!!!
That’s awesome and Thanks for giving me a chance and for being honest. We hope you stick around. What kind of kayak are you in?
Thanks for some excellent ideas, will work very well kayaking
Drip ring hack is great for those bone stock paddles that " comes with " the budget kayak. Thx.
Incredibly simple incredibly cheap and wonderful hacks thank you
Thank. What kind of kayak are you in?
Thanks for the hints. Peeps were asking me about their paddle flotation capabilities last weekend. Now I can tell them how to insure they will float.
If you took the paddle float and cut it in half and put one half near each blade, wouldn't that act as a drip guard as well as a float?
That was probably the best helpful hack video I've seen in a while. Lots of these hack guys are... Well... Hacks... 😁

Three great ideas thanks for sharing.

Good tips. I like them for keeping pre tied leaders . Just wrap around and stick in hook, or toothpick if using swivel.
