Melanie, thank you for this clear, helpful video! I am an art teacher and am teaching a STEAM club and a Makerspace this year and I have done this project once before with 30 8-9 year olds and it was a lot of fun because they designed their own art to go with their lights. But, the copper tape was tricky for them to get solid connections. Your tutorial is easy to follow and I believe your tape looks like 3/8"?a bit thicker than my 1/4 tape, maybe easier for small hands. Also, I like how you poked the lights through the front of the card and taped the sides down. I may offer this to them to view to create their own cards in the Makerspace! Great tips!!

The fine liner colours you use .... Are similar to stabilo...is they spread when come in contact with water?????

We just left them exposed but you could easily ad an inner layer of paper.

Can you also use the conductive ink marker instead of using the copper wire? I having a really hard time mastering copper wire.
Where did you find the Robot image? And did you draw the circuit outlines yourself? This is perfect for my Brownie Unit if I can just print them out for them.

Can we use silver foil in place of conductive tape
I have done it before using aluminum foil, just keep in mind that the tape you use may be a surprisingly good insulator and may block a circuit unintentionally.

I am planning to do this project with kids but I'm wondering if there is a way to affix the battery more permanently to the card. I'm worried about younger siblings getting the battery.
+Aimee Aul try using hot glue but leaving part of the battery surface uncovered by the glue so it can make contact with the conductive tape

Use a resistor. A 56ohm resistor would be fine
