    I asked my mother the other day what it was like in her generation she said we had the best cars they lasted a long time We had the best era because we created it the way we wanted it and we had a lot of compassion love and freedom for everything. We loved one another. ❤️❤️

    • @themidnighttavern6784
      @themidnighttavern6784 9 месяцев назад +3

      Classic cars were generally far less reliable than modern cars. As for the love people comment, again, that applies more to today than the 60s. Lots of wack jobs back in the 60s wouldn't even let my gay friend marry another adult for literally no reason.

    • @kennethstegall1075

    • @terryschnereger8531
      @terryschnereger8531 9 месяцев назад +6

      Classic cars lasted longer and are more rigid and far less disposable than today's cars. And the ppl were far more sensible, caring common sense than today's society. I've noticed this growing up in the 70 & 80s. Today's generation is so traumatized by what gender they are. You can't even walk outside the comfort of your own home without offending anyone.

    • @themidnighttavern6784
      @themidnighttavern6784 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@terryschnereger8531 Everything you just said was incorrect. The average lifespan of a new car in the 60s was less than 7 years on average. Meaning on average, you'd buy a brand new car, and it would be in a junkyard less than 7 years later. That's a statistical averaging tracking the average age of cars on the road. By comparison, 7 years is nothing for a modern car.
      As for the comment on society being more compassionate, tell those people you're gay, or that you had depression, and watch them turn on you fast.

    • @themidnighttavern6784
      @themidnighttavern6784 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@terryschnereger8531 Modern generations just want to have the freedom to live their lives. Being gay isn't a choice, basically every gay person will tell you that. Their attraction to same sex people is as natural as the attraction you and I have to the opposite sex. You can't force a gay person to become straight anymore than you can force a straight person to become gay.
      Yet despite this, you had truly evil people deny them the right to be married, and be happy for no reason.

    Awesome recreation! But, as someone else mentioned, this missed the absolute #1 cue which signified the beginning of the Chase, which was the buckling of the 1960's lap belt in the Charger. Might have added a bit of humor to buckle the three-point harness instead, or splice in an actual lap belt buckle🤷. Also, i was waiting for the Mustang reversing uncontrolled wheel hop at 6:39 and was dissapointed that that piece was shortened with no wheel hop. I grew up in that era, and those Mustangs without Traction Bars were notorious for wheel hop under uncontrolled acceleration. The smoky burnout by the escaping Charger exceeded the excitement of the original. And my hair stood on end with the absolutely perfect timing of the Mustang showing up in the Charger's rear view mirror.

    Hey? The Mustang's brake lines didn't shoot out brake fluid from the underside brake lines from under the car on one of the jumps?! Eh. Close enough though. LOL

    Every time I get in my 79 mustang pace car I look out the windshield to see if there is a black charger waiting for me

    I don't know what inspired you to do it; but that was neat Richard. I even liked the additional under-car B-roll shots. May be production's your bag man. Definitely some fun S ain't it bro ?

    Who is the guy driving the Challenger? He looks a bit like Bill Hickman.

    They definitely should capture this footage of Chad from behind the scenes of the Bullitt recreation and put it in the final season of Cobra Kai. Who all agrees?

    Im glad that they still used a Dodge product (Challenger) in the chase scene....but to make it look really special...i wish they could've got a real 1968 Charger to reenact the chase scene along with the McQueen Mustang.

    The best part of this video is the zoom close up in the rear view in the challenger. The rest? Probably fun to film, but having the modern Challenger vs a Charger is kind of weird. And the seriousness of the Challenger driver putting his seat belt on is sorely missed in this.

    The gear changing clacks and snarl of the mustang , that dirty music can’t be recreated…..but still a nice tribute ❤️

    Richard, you have always succeeding in entertaining us in the car world. Your next mission, should you choose to accept, will be building and renting cars for the movie industry and/or making movies. I will write the script, OK? We need more movies like American graffiti, and, two-lane blacktop.

    They should've either used the newer 2018 Bullitt special edition Mustang to chase the modern Challenger, or used a classic Charger which gets chased by the classic Mustang.
