  • This 3D model, with 1cm accuracy on the road surface, was created with data captured by the Mosaic X - a 360-degree mobile mapping camera (www.mosaic51.c...) in only 72 seconds, running at 5 FPS.
    The speed in data capture and the nearly real-to-life image quality means that large scale photogrammetry for asset creation is possible for surveying companies, mapping companies, governments, infrastructure maintenance and repair, with many Digital Twin and Smart City applications.
    This was made WITHOUT any lidar. But if you want to use lidar, you can. Global shutter sensors make it super easy to color your lidar point cloud.
    For more about how you can similar results for you next project, contact Mosaic: www.mosaic51.c...

      We do not use 360 pictures for reconstruction. For such photogrammetry tasks we use source unstitched video from each individual camera. But we can not disclose how exactly we do it.

    lol i see what u did there 72 seconds x 5 seconds = 360 frames of 360 images
    that is impressive though, lately ive been messing around with my consumer 360 camera trying to do photogrammetry and it just does not have the clarity required to be effective over using a dslr or phone camera

    • @mosaic360cameras
      @mosaic360cameras  9 месяцев назад

      Filming -- not much. Just 72 sec of capturing. But processing took longer. But depends on machine. For this set it took I think around 6 hours in total on modern PC, but I don't remember anymore.
