Goal: one long, uninterrupted take. I've used the GoPro Fusion in a couple vids (Orcas Island, Lost Coast, Sweepers, etc) and it's been an interesting piece of kit. Compared to something like the Rylo, I appreciate the ability to edit the 360 footage in my NLE as opposed to an app. This was an experiment in footage collection, file handling, dynamic range and image quality. I think the tech is there, but there's a huge amount of room for improvement. Enjoy One Mile (more like 1.3)!
Wow Ethan - that was the most relaxing mile I have ever (not) run in my life! The music really makes this clip - well done! I can see now why you wanted to move back to Seattle - so many beautiful options for running!
Here's an idea...see if you can run a loop out on a trail and see if you can splice the beginning onto the end of the video to try to make a seemless, endless continuous loop of footage with soundtrack that you can just play on repeat over and over again...
TheGingerRunner My God, that was breathtakingly beautiful. I've really missed this type of content on your channel of late but that was worth the wait. The epic soundtrack really set off the imagery to a tee. Fantastic film Ethan, thank you so much.
I was able to watch it on my computer, phone and TV and realized that you could’ve shot this with an early 90’s camcorder and the essence of your vision would have still connected with the people you inspire daily. Thanks for giving us a peak behind the curtains Ethan.
The ultra cool music makes it hard to be critical of the footage. Hey, Ethan, I hope your pup is doing better. The community feels it, and our thoughts are with your family.
Great footage. Exactly what I have missed seeing from the channel. A run (non competitive/race) through the trails in your area I had been hoping for since you and Kim made the move to the North West .
Hey Ethan this is epic, gonna use this one on the treadmill (tablet) many times. The score is really beautifull, kinda reminded of the instestellar score.
Very nice. I would love to see a whole race or long workout documented in this way. Stabilization, music, and trail are outstanding. One time over exposure was nearly irrelevant in the context of the whole film. Keep experimenting. I'd love to run to this on a treadmill if I could not get outside.
I think I just found a way to run when I don't want to run! :D Great footage. Could also make for a nice Patreon crew "contest" to let everyone see a slice of everyone else's home trails...
Beautiful!! One of my new favorite videos! Will definitely watch this the next time I have to do a treadmill run. Makes me think you could do a treadmill collection, kind of like Virtual Active but without the coaching.
Very cool! Kinda like you said, I think the tech needs a little bit of love still. That said, for a solo shooter, it really opens up some neat possibilities. Loving your teal and orange grading, looks great.
This is amazing! Can you please do more like this one... makes running on a treadmill enjoyable. I could have run for days if this kept going. Love your music...Keep it up!
This is so beautiful Ethan. The light and the music are just magical and mesmerising!! Is the Fusion on a gimbal? Or does it have good image stabilisation by itself?
I love your videos. been following you for a while. Is this on a Go Pro Karma stabilizer? Not sure if there is an attachment for that. What do you like about the fusion?
Ethan, that was really cool to see the continuous shot on the Fusion. I like that you can edit it with your computer software instead of needing an app (like the Rylo). I'm curious, do you have a Rylo as well? The stability of both cameras is great but what seems to be the biggest issue right now is the step down in video quality. I would love to see the quality comparison between the two camera's. Despite the lower quality, it sure will be great to get stable race footage without the need to use a gimbal! Going forward, do you see this camera as being a primary piece of filming gear for you?
I would also be interested to know whether there was a trade-off between audio vs video regarding memory capacity. Is that why you went straight to music only? Also, I am always amazed at the HD video quality of these cameras. Great vid. I can't get enough of these.
I wish you would make such a Video of a Ultra Marathon and speed it up and we could just watch you run the whole 100 miles and I would be so entertained

HA! Now there's an idea!

That is a great idea!
Beautifully shot & scored. It's as if Hans Zimmer & Christopher Nolan were runners ... and ginger.

I think I just found my new favorite RUclips video of all time.
I feel like this is one of those videos I'm going to watch over and over and...
I’ve never seen a video evoke the pure joy of floating along a trail as much as this. I was completely transfixed throughout. Great stuff Ethan!
I was able to watch it on my computer, phone and TV and realized that you could’ve shot this with an early 90’s camcorder and the essence of your vision would have still connected with the people you inspire daily. Thanks for giving us a peak behind the curtains Ethan.
I've been feeling really anxious all day, and this video calmed me right down. Everything about it is so beautiful. Thank you.
The ultra cool music makes it hard to be critical of the footage. Hey, Ethan, I hope your pup is doing better. The community feels it, and our thoughts are with your family.
So simple, so beautifully done

the music is mesmerizing. Been listening to this like 20 times already....
Love this film. Feels like the end sequence to a late 70s/early 80s movie.
I felt like running myself through those trails. Another great one, Ginger !
This footage makes me relax in the middle of work. Thanks!
Such a great idea, takes us right to the core of the enjoyment of running. Love the trail to beach transition!!!
I loved this! Summer in Seattle is gorgeous, and this video really captures that. Plus the score? So good!
Love it Ethan. Man you live in a beautiful corner of this earth! 🤩
Stellar Ethan, I would say this experiment with the GoPro is a huge success. I love the content you put out, thank you so much.

possibly one of your best pieces yet. kinda reminds me of cliff martinez' score to 'solaris'. thank you for your art!
Wow Ethan 👌 awesome. And that music is so inspiring ☺
the stability is quite impressive. and the very very very long takes suit your musical style
This was amazing! Hopefully the start of a new series.. Beautiful scenery, great smooth footage, epic soundtrack!
Very meditative view of my old stomping grounds!
Love this. Thank you. You never disappoint with the videos or the music.
I think I just found a way to run when I don't want to run! :D Great footage. Could also make for a nice Patreon crew "contest" to let everyone see a slice of everyone else's home trails...

Beautiful footage and I especially love the music!
Wonderful! ❣Your films are keeping me sane...or perhaps I'm just happily insane😄😄Either way, thank you 🙏
OK. .that's it already...quitting me job and moving to Seattle...😼
Amazing! Congrats from Brazil!
Really cool video. Makes me want to get out my shoes and run. Fantastic fit with the score. It ends with the familiair sillents after a good run!
Incredible video! Make more of those please!
reminds me summer is only what 5months away! FML - great stuff mate

When u are injured and need something to meditate too
Sam Running yessssss
So fax
Hello TheGingerRunner, may I know how did u take this amazing shots with the Fusion? Head, chest, hand held? thanks love!
Yes, extremely nice. I’m sure you’ll work out the difficulties of light and dynamics-a bit of surging that’s hard to edit.
Put this in front of a treadmill and I might be able to actually stay on for a while!
I'll be watching this on the big screen next time I have to run on the dreadmill
He's goin hungry!!!!
Much love
That was awesome 👍
*NICE VIEW*
Nice, man.
Is that all in camera IS??
Hans Zimmer get out the way!!! Here comes The Ginger!!!!
I, unfortunately, didn't compose this one :) Was just drawn to it's imagery. Josh Stewart is incredible.
Lovely
I wish you would make such a Video of a Ultra Marathon and speed it up and we could just watch you run the whole 100 miles and I would be so entertained
Marlena Gorille my arm would certainly get tired :)
