Its almost as if the OCG gets treated way better than the TCG & as a result player interest & attendance goes up Oh yeah & locals are suffering in the TCG so there's that too.
last 2 times I attended locals, the number of competitors fell to less than half. (over 20 the one before last, only 9 the last time) It is indeed suffering to find people to play with around here. (TCG)
All their cards are cheaper while super over powered cards are hard to pull there it’s not like that in the ocg they also get many rarity when they open packs. So like s.p little night is super hard to pull and expensive but over I’m Japan it’s a rare and not hard to get lol but they also have high rarity versions. They treat yugioh over there the way they treat Pokémon you get can the card in higher rarity and lower Rarity so everyone gets the best cards
7443 players, that's up to 22 329 copies of Maxx C gathered in one place. That's something like 70 KG of copies of Maxx C (counting 3 grams per sleeved copy). And that's not even counting Multchummy...
Tokio alone has over 3 times more people living there than in the entirety of Hungary. By population alone, they might as well be a separate country, rather than just 1 city.
*Vader breathez heavy* bro u BLOWED... Japan iz 100% SMARTER than us... they can have good shit like kaiser collesium n it NOT be toxic... MEANWHILE we got playerz in tha tcg wit tha creative juicez of ah potato playin 2 "different" deckz in ah 24 hour mirror match fest called regionalz??? STOP PLAYIN... *Vader breathez heavy*
OCG is best of 1 but they need to lose twice to get knocked out, no? TCG you lose one game and you're out, I believe. Hard to say which I prefer, the Side Deck has both pros and cons.
The OCG and MD are pretty much the same with the same banlist (pretty much) so it makes sense that the OCG's tournaments would also be MD style. TCG out here just being by itself, as usual 😂
I wish there was more events in the TCG. I’m waiting on my state (northern Wisconsin) or Minnesota to add a regionals to the list and we still don’t have shit. We’ve had regionals every year, several times a year, since I started in 2014. Why is there nothing going on in 2024? I’m not buying fucking product if there’s nothing to play it at since locals in my area is completely dead. I was so excited for the gate magician support and I never got to play it. Now I’m pumped for gimmick puppet support and I swear if I buy all this shit and still don’t have an event to play it at I’m quitting. I’ll play fucking magic and go to locals for that instead
I wonder how much of this has to do with LGS dropping yugioh product and/or local events in the last year. After all, if locals go away, the next best thing you can do if you want to play in person is regionals and YCS. I'm not sure how much of this attendance record is excitement for the game vs a matter of necessity.
If all locals suddenly went away then that is going to suck big time for a lot of players who are only able to go to locals and can’t afford or even have the time to go to multiple regionals or Ycs tournaments especially for ycs tournaments that are in other states or countries.
It is they have card shop chain called ハレルヤ that is dedicated to nothing but mtg. Yugioh, Pokemom and other japanese created brands are just more popular there
*Vader breathez heavy* bro... they ALL ran snake-eye... yall want ah simplified game state so much d@ yall only run 2 deckz... simpletonz... simpz... THA SIMPSONZ... *Vader breathez heavy*

It's been a minute since I've heard someone claim the game is dying. And the game never stops getting more complicated.
The game is also alot more affordable in Japan, they dont rip off their customers like they do in the tcg
Huh? How?

@@UTgohan Okay so I never understood why this manner or shelving out the best cards hasn't been migrated to the TCG. Can someone explain this to me...
What a good rarity distribution system does to a community.
Cough more decks like Tenpai Dragon Konami cough
Almost 7500 players and folks whine about best of one rounds.... come on. How many rounds of swiss would that be if best of three?
i could smell the video
Dead 💀
💀💀💀💀I wanted to comment that also...
idk, does Japan have the same problem with personal hygiene?
Hahaha i was about to comment on how stanky that convention center was lol
Nah not in japan. Only America has that issue because Americans dont know how to wipe their ass.
That’s almost 24K Maxx C’s!!! 😱
The token that was issued is going to go for at least 15 to 30 dollars

Great video 👍
Wow I never thought I would see Yugioh in the Guinness Book of World Records
thanks kazuki sensei

Crazy to think there were 21,000 copies of maxx c in one place!
Maxx C is too busted
The smell of shrimp fried rice was off the roooofff!!!!!
TCG and OCG are not the same game. OCG is played in Asian markets. TCG is played everywhere else. They are not interchangeable.
TCG = “Trading Card Game”

He's not talking about the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, but rather all trading card games.
@@BLSoldier00 that's my bad for not listening closely enough then.
Meanwhile we dont even have EU YCSes anymore
Why do OCG tournaments always have so much more interesting results than the TCG tournaments? The TCG should just copy the OCG format.
Y no gold sarc deck box for first place?

It's only their YCS. They've been doing them since 2018. Because they generally average like 3000 people they are best of one 7 or 8 rounds of swiss.
Nah, the OCG and MD banlists are pretty different at this point, the MD banlist is like a hybrid between TCG and OCG, with some of its own hits.

In JP still pretty thriving tho. Its like ranked no.2 this year for TCG revenue, lost to pokemon
@@invertbrid Idk if I'd call it thriving. I've seen too many stories in the last year for this one story about YCS attendance to override all of that.
@@spicymemes7458 TCG region maybe? That thriving thing is for OCG japan.

MTGsisters.... I thought YGO was dying....
The video title is misleading. This wasn't a TCG. It's Ocg
The OCG is a TCG. TCG stands for Trading Card Game. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game is a Trading Card Game.
Is MTG not a thing in Japan?

of course konami chose one of the largest cities in the world as well the home base for OCG to get numbers XD
lol "TCG" tournament eh?
👍❤
Did they have to open all the windows to let the smell out?
Beeg
its under 9000. booooo.
1 of 1 is way better for the game. faster games, promotes diversity in strategy and deck building. f siding... there said it
The last thing the game needs is to be faster
L take sideing keeps broken decks that lose to specific cards in check.

Still doesn’t change the fact that this tedious crappy card game is going to die
People have been saying that since 2008 and it's still here 😂

I dint like the direction Yugioh is going but I love this game and definitely don’t want it to die. Long live Yugioh!!!!!!
So glad I quit yugioh for duel links
Call to all yougioh players we got to reach over 9000
