I did 10 Gigantamax over the weekend. *The secret for those raids is to DEFEND and HEAL in priority. Max the defensive and healing skills of your Dynamax/Gigantamax pokemons and make sure everyone use buffs.* It does take a bit longer, but it is WAY safer. In all the raids we did (we were 40 on Saturday, but only 28 on Sunday), we managed to finish the Gigantamax with over 10-20 pokemon remaining in our teams.
True! I even maxed out my 98 dubwool: it was a True healing lling hero! Choose 1 healer per team of 4. In the end, we got a blastoise with 18 trainers.
@@alluro8607 the thing is its just about what Do you had. Or if the Spot already had many from others before. We did one with 20 yesterday and had 30 pokemons left. But thats because we already powered the spot

I think the play for now is that IF you get G-Max and they have trash IVs, wait for a Lucky Trade and mirror trade G-Max Pokémon. That way, you’re at least guaranteed to get somewhat better IVs.
This feature is absolutely terrible. Yes I get that gigantimax Pokemon are cool and strong, but they don’t need to be this hard to take down. And Niantic thinks everyone lives in big cities and that everyone has access to a big Pokemon go community. I only live in a small town and I was able to recruit a few people, I think 8 or 9 to join the raid weekend with me and my friend. All of us joined a charizard, and even though that’s the ‘easiest’ one to take down, every Pokemon died in 30 seconds. Either make them easier or allow remote raids for gmax Pokemon. I agree with everything mystic said from 23:20
Gigantamax is the biggest F You Niantic has done to it's community since Remote Passes nerf. 99% of it's player base won't be able to battle in these even IF they can get 20+ people
My community has a local raiding scene and we did a Blastoise yesterday with around 37 people. It came down to the very last person on their very last Pokemon. I can't imagine how people in smaller groups can successfully take these on.
🤣🤣🤣 The most wishful thing I’ve seen in a while. Niantic only makes things worse. If they do rework it, they will just cost more and be even harder. Time to quit the game
@@adrianparente6034 i mean, mega evolving a pokemon is WAY more forgiving than it used to be. Back then, mega evolving was the same number of mega energy EVERY SINGLE TIME and pretty much forced you to farm mega raids since it was the only way to gain mega energy. Now, you still mainly get mega energy from mega raids, but gaining a candy by touching grass and waiting 7 days for the 1st level, 5 days for level 2 and 3 days for level 3. When that cooldown ends, you can mega evolve for free. For example, legendaries are usually 20km for a candy, but those that can primal reversion or mega evolve gains 100 primal/mega energy from that 20km, which is good on its own. Pokemons that needs 5km to gain a candy gains 25 mega energy when you walk with them
And to be fair, dynamax is so poorly implemented its not even funny. All they could have done is implement matchmaking so that everyone can raid those gigantamax, just like what they did with their latest game Monster Hunter Now with Hunt-a-thons, Elder Dragon Interception and the Dimentional Links. If they bothered adding matchmaking there, why they can't add it in pokemon go ?
It is possible to dodge but you can only dodge the attackt when those three line above your pokemon appear like you did here 4:33, so if you see that above your pokemon you just need to swipe to the side before it starts blinking red and then you dodge the attack. it has worked everytime for me. but you still somtime take damage even if you dodge but less damage, and sometime you don't take damage.
I live in Thessaloniki in Greece which is the second-largest city in Greece, and we have a community of around 60-70 players in total, and we were barely able to meet up and find 30 people to do a few raids. Most of our raids failed, and we only managed to do around 5-6 raids in total. Once again, keep in mind that I am living in the second-biggest city in Greece, so no wonder how people can even bring down one of those raids in smaller cities. No need to mention rural areas or villages. Once again, Niatic completely excludes rural players just to make some quick money from a feature which serves no purpose. As it stands now, the only purpose Gigandamax Pokémon have is to just make it easier for you to bring down Dynamax and Gigandamax raids. They are completely useless outside of this feature. So I don't see any reason for them to be that hard.
Honestly, I find it irritating that Dynamax and Gigantamax require you to recollect the same Pokémon you own. What's the point of farming 100% IV if they're gated in a specific portion of the game. Plus, I went really hard trying to get a Grookey through the Dynamax raids to get a 100% to only find out after doing research that I have to get a full team up to re-collect the same unit later on to get Gigantamax versions. SO a boat load of farming for something thats only useable in on facet of the game. Furthermore, the Gigantamax are extremely hard and no one in my area will do them. No thanks. Shows how out of touch the developers are with their design choices.
I raided a Gmax charizard, 40 ppl and we defeated it, I hoped for a shiny but my game crashed as I was going into the rewards screen, and the raid disappeared so I never got the Gmax zard and it still took my MP
they really should have done online lobby queuing where if you show up in person to a gigantamax raid it will put you together with other ppl doing the same raid nearby to make extra teams
This is the biggest fuck you niantic has even pulled. As a rural player this is soooo frustrating. We have a raid group here were we usually have 14 accounts. Which is not bad i think, but will not ever give us a chance to get a gigantamax pokemon. Seriously this could be the end for the game for me.
I think it’s a really cool feature but has some issues, I agree that there should be remote raids or should be nerfed but I still had a great time taking on g max raids.
The number in the rop right isn't people left its pokemon left so if 2 of yours are alive and you see 3 pokemon left then it means it's only you and one other person left
my biggest gripe is not the difficulty its the IQ of the players, I am so tired of seeing people jump in with 3 baby pokemon and then knowing they just dip out of it after they get Ko'd. Pleaseeeee stay in and cheer or dont join in the first place. Also, getting these mons at 1300-1600 CP seems criminal, I had to power up Dmax just to be competitive, now youre going to give me a trash level Gmax to power up all over again?? Money hungry much Niantic?
On average lets say 225k stardust on single pokemon for level 40 plus 250 candy....50 candy for lvl 1 max attacks x 2 since you have lvl 1 attack by default , 300-360 candy for level 2 max attacks and on top 120-150 Xl for level 3 max attacks ( x3pokemon) 675 k stardust for just 3 pokemons that will be probably be good just for 1 giga raid 225 k stardust 650 candy 135 XL candy For 1 pokemon After all that pain, time wasted stardust wasted and if you by any luck get all 3 of the pokemon you will have to repeat the above process to max out giga pokemon which looking now from this video seems , feels and plays like a complete trash feature
With gigantamax there was local a place with around 50 players, which really sucks in the sense 10 just cannot participate. The average team where not strong enough to do the battles with 25 players so splitting was also not a option
tried a gmax blastoise yesterday. took THREE ATTEMPTS. we only finished it with the entire lobby maxed out. 40 PEOPLE, and then i didnt catch it... if we're gonna need 30+ people per raid, at least give us more rewards.
Bc they think 40 people means you can bring Wooloo and Skwovet to a Gigantamax Venusaur fight lol Numbers don't mean anything when your whole team is wiped before you even grt a chance to Dynamax for the 1st time and do actual damage. When most people want to be carried, there aren't enough carriers
I live in Tennessee, the capital is Nashville. Anyone familiar with Nashville knows Broadway is always densely packed with people. I've been sitting in the heart of MY STATE'S CAPITAL CITY and can't even get a second person to join me. That. Is. A. Problem. This isn't even a rural issue, it's a THERE'S NO GOD DAMN WAY TO DO THESE RAIDS issue
Got 9 G-Max after 90min Sat and 90min Sun. Last one I did, we beat Char with 18 players and 40 Pokemon still alive. Yea it’s gonna be rough starting out, but it’ll get way easier over time. Maybe hit it with a 20% nerf?
Tried a raid with a couple friends, got decimated with full evolved type advantage dynamax pokemon and still got slammed, gave up and rethought my choice of mobile games and I’ve decided I’m going back to clash of clans
The reason they’re so “hard” to beat is because people are joining with TERRIBLE counters, squirtles against blastoise etc. Some aren’t even tapping. There are so many noobs with 0 knowledge that join it makes it way harder.
This system is complete garbage. I did a couple with packs of 40 and we barely even managed to beat them. Complete bs it is nearly impossible to beat and to catch them is even worse.
OMG do you know how many of these videos I’ve watched just to figure out the mechanics of these annoying raids! I didn’t know you swiped over that thing either! I hate these raids!
After about 3 hours, I only completed two raids. The Charizard ran, and the Blastoise had bad IVs. Gonna ignore G-Max raids in the future, unless they A. Make the raids easier or B. Make dynamax useful outside of max raids.
We had 16 people and caught all 3 yesterday. Key is strategy. Coordinate with your 4 person team to shield and attack. Large attacks from the boss can't be dodged, the focused attack you can dodge.
You know its bad when even Brandon Tan is struggling to use the 'feature'. The amount of raids he lost AND the amount of Gigantamax that fled was nuts. Why are they so hostile to players, I thought games were meant to be fun?
Charizard, the easiest?! No its either venasaur or Blastoise, charzard feels the hardest due to how badly many people who didnt prepare want it and hop into the raids and so that good players who have a chance of winning if they work together cant win, ive had no problems with the other 2
Meanwhile in the main series game, you can beat any gigantimax raid with 4. You have to. They made sure you could... this is ridiculous. As someone in a tiny town, I can't get one of these. We maybe have 20 pogo players in this town and not all of them are active. Coordinating the ones we do have is impossible. We'd have to pause our entire lives to go to a city an hour and a half away and then hope we can get 30 people in... Needless to say we can't do that. I have work. My family has things to do at home. A family member needed help yesterday. We were too busy to pause our lives to attempt to maybe get one of these. And then maybe not even catch one because of the catch rate. This is so frustrating.
@@Tiese2807 that’s correct. But you can. I live at a place where i have never seen anyone do a dynamax raid or join the one i am in. So what i’m trying to say is that i will never be able to do a mega one because we will never get enough people.
There is no time limit, but after a while they gain "enrage" which makes them attack super often i think. So at that point the fast cheering does no longer prevent taking attacks, or guarding/healing does not keep up anymore with damage taken
The main problem with this raid is people haven't maxed their move on dyanamax pokemon. Next thing people don't cheer after all of their Pokemon are dead. Cheering helps alot in road
Well I know and me personally why I not going to power up again a max level 50 charizard, venusaur or blastoise when I already have one.. that’s like going back again repeating again on the game… is like raids when they get repeated same thing goes when they forcing you to max those Pokémon again … no thanks, should of just let you use the Pokemon already you have
Definitely needs to be nerfed I live in quiet a rural area and only about 3 people actually play Pokémon go and since we can’t get any gigantamax Pokémon we can’t take any more down
Use Campfire to organize a group and upgrade your SHIELD and HEALING! If everyone just attacks you'll get stomped but when half the group is healing and buffing other mons it's pretty easy to take down. We never lost more than half our pokemon and everyone got at least 2 of each. Good luck trainers!
Something I'd really like to see happen is a new g-max feature that if you have a Dynamax Pokémon that's capable of Gigantamaxing (Let's say Charizard), you can spend 250 candies (maybe more, maybe less) and 1k max particles to change your d-max into g-max, which its anims could be (somewhat) similar to the mega transformation in a way (maybe dynamax clouds surround it, and it uncovers them as g-max mons)
There wasn't much engagement from our community with this one. A group of 20-30 went out in the end, mostly f2p so only 1-2 raids each day. We failed Charizard several times, then beat Blastoise and Venusaur. Once we had gigantamax Blastoise we managed Charizard with 20 trainers. Key seemed to be shield, spirit and cheering.
By the end we were about 20 people, with mainly 8 covering like 70% of the damage. The eight being in two teams with planned people to help heal and the others smashing. The most important things are communicating and strategy. Realistically, they probably can get beat with 12, three teams with the strategy I mentioned.
Same though I live in a city with a lot of gyms and pokestops, but finding big enough groups is near impossible, and campfire's utterly useless since active users live far away from me, this is literally designed for big city players only. And even then, even when we got 40 people with over 60 pokémon, we lost multiple times. We only managed when over 100 pokémon were used, insane how hard it is, definitely hope they adjust the feature in the future cuz this is ridiculous
Dude honestly only people in your situation can complain about this (I mean besides the bugs and shitty rewards). The biggest problem is anti socials don't want to interact with other people so they let their fomo want to ruin it for others.
@@starman1494don't even attempt it at this point. they're cracking down hard on cheaters nowadays. if anything, you'd need to make an alt account to do these gmax battled and trade them over to your main account because getting a 7 day ban is inevitable

I got 800 particles for "checking in" to the event so I went to another event later in the day to get more particles and you only get the 800 reward once, not once per event so I didn't have enough particles to take down more gigantimax without paying. I'm in a huge city, and the only places that had near enough people were coordinated meetups. even raids in extremely popular dense areas had nowhere near enough.
I am in the suburbs of St. Louis. I spent all day yesterday near a Gigantamax Charizard and no one was battling it. I knew that this would happen as I can't even find a raid for Mega Rayquaza.
Once a week "wild card" remote raid with a minimum of 40 players, otherwise the raid doesn't take place. Difficulty level lowered slightly. Players pop up randomly anywhere in the world for a Gigantamax experience..
Either nerf these or make them remote raidable. I had 16 people, all with at least 2x 3000cp max levelled pokemon and no luck, it’s so stupid. Either nerf it, make it remote raidable or no ones gonna do anything with it
This is built for the hard core of hard core only. We had people only wanting to do 1 of each or bailing after 2 or 3 because they didnt want to spend money. Mind you thats all on Niantic for making them too hard. I wanted to do as many as i could but had to skip so many zard because not enough wanted a 4th or more zard.
My son and I got all 3 of them, we had 18-22 trainers. I love the PoGo community, cause my son, daughter, and I were coming from a trunk or treat a couple towns over from where my community’s gigantamax meet up was happening and even though they had 21 people already, they waited a half hour for us and my son and daughter did their first Gigantamax raids on my phone while they were in their Lucario and Eevee costumes! Things like that are why we love playing Pokemon Go!
our tactic this weekend was pure damage. we were between 15-25 ppl. we had problems only saturday when we realised we need to power up our mons more and then it was fine.
This gigantamax event well proved that Pokemon Go community has shrinked. Physical players are not many any more. But Niantic still makes money from spoofers who has no issues with big raids as these because they can locate their game to any popular spots.
I already can’t do most 3 star raids and nothing above because I have to do everything alone in my city. Like Shadow legendaries, I won’t be able to obtain any of these. Not to mention I’m a free to play player which means you can only do ONE in a large span of time before having to leave to either walk 2km and/or find enough of the power spots, which aren’t common where I am.
The gigantamax feature is cool as a concept but it is very difficult to actually defeat and catch the gigantamax Pokémon. It’s also very expensive to battle gigantamax Pokémon because you have to power up your Pokémon and max out its moves while additionally having lots of people to battle with if you even want any chance of defeating them.
I got all 3 but no shiny yet and by doing em I think that the most easy is venosaur or blastoys. And to think that I tried charizard first with 40 people twice and lost but blastoys first try🤣. So I did charizard with blastoys
Dodge does work. If you have 1 support per team that does healing power 3 and guard level 3, they are not that hard. People need to play better. Tap tap tap doesn’t work. We managed to do it with as low as 10 people. No small account, they actually makes it harder because as they faint, the survivors get targeted faster.
This is horrible. In the main games these are beneficial to do online raiding. To make these solely in person and extremely difficult, and no remote invites. Makes this such a terrible misstep.
The thing I don't like about the gigantamax pokemon being so hard is this, they spent along type creating alot of suspense and hype teasing the feature and what not just for it to be a very very inaccessible feature.
I did the big brain move of doing the raids on day 2 was able to get 1 of each but these are so hard to do. They should have waited longer to release GMAX pokemon to allow people to build up a team and focussed on one at a time.
If everyone is above level 40, there’s no reason for anything in this game to take more than 5 people to take down. So many players are being left out on this event.
This may seem outrageous but gigantimax Pokémon should get nerfed to the point where you can have only 5 maximum trainers in the raid, usually in swsh, the maximum amount of players is 4 fir even g max raids, they should be able to be taken down by 5 players In pogo, not only will more people be interested in raiding them, but also for the overall player base and for players in rural areas (Obviously they will still be hard to take down)
Besides every other thing mentioned in the comments, they are crazy hard to catch as well. I did 3 raids, hit them with an Excellent 80% of the time and gave a golden razz 100% of the time -- 2 ran away, 1 has trash IVs.
I am happy to see gigantimax mon are here, but hate how hard they are. As a free to play player, I still haven’t spent money in the 8 yrs this game has come out and never will, but the fact I could only do 1 max raid a day for that and still fail catching it baffles me. & im still also mad that they kept all the costume Halloween mon behind a pay wall when it wasn’t ever before.
Thats why I constantly come and go with pokemon ill get in the mood to play again but unless im downtown in the city theres really no point to playing in the suburbs with no pokestops or gyms
my group was a full in person community all with lvl 30-40 top counters, most with a heal or sheild too, we managed to barely beat them with 19 of us before we had any gmax mons. even if this is technicaly doable without 30+ people its absolutely absurd needing a minimum of like, 20 people all with top counters, and we only managed to beat venusaur like that because metagross’s 4x resistance to sludge bomb to tank hits. on the second day we had a much higher turnout of almost 40 people but most of them had much lower level mons and we were struggling, 3-4 atempts on most raids with 35 people because they couldnt afford to power up anither like, 12 mons to level 40. (also an azelf spawned near us halfway through so a third of the group split off for that wich didn’t help) the dificulty us ridiculous. 10-40 is a lie, even with full powered up gmax teams in the later half of day 1 we couldnt do less than 15 people, and with random people joining then 40 feels more like the minimum than the cap
I had the same luck in terms of IVs and shiny as you did @mystic. I did 4 Blastoise hoping to get a good and all were two stars. I didn’t enjoy the feature as much with too many Pokémon’s to choose from and not everyone wanted to do the same ones. Everyone wanted charizard, I wanted more blastoise. i wish they didn't even bother putting them in my small communitys like mine, the most amount of players ive seen is 5 in the gyms and i wish i could just have more ghastlys to shiny hunt

We did it with 22-29 without it to Soweit part

About someone also said it like this event makes no sense it cost 800?? But only can collect a amount a day?? That's only like two raids and then it's hard to beat them not everyone has money 😢
Me living in Egypt be like “welp never getting a gmax Pokemon” 💀
I think the play for now is that IF you get G-Max and they have trash IVs, wait for a Lucky Trade and mirror trade G-Max Pokémon.
That way, you’re at least guaranteed to get somewhat better IVs.
What kinda stardust you think that would cost though
26 and Web did it 😂
I hope they come back out in a few weeks COMPLETELY reworked. Able to be taken out by smaller groups, give better rewards, and maybe some other things
7:00 another $100 down the drain, but it is cheaper than the sushi dinner with the lady

On average lets say 225k stardust on single pokemon for level 40 plus 250 candy....50 candy for lvl 1 max attacks x 2 since you have lvl 1 attack by default , 300-360 candy for level 2 max attacks and on top 120-150 Xl for level 3 max attacks ( x3pokemon) 675 k stardust for just 3 pokemons that will be probably be good just for 1 giga raid
225 k stardust
650 candy
135 XL candy
For 1 pokemon
After all that pain, time wasted stardust wasted and if you by any luck get all 3 of the pokemon you will have to repeat the above process to max out giga pokemon which looking now from this video seems , feels and plays like a complete trash feature
What's the point on even wasting gas. Not going. To give myself a headache anymore I'm already over this shit...
With gigantamax there was local a place with around 50 players, which really sucks in the sense 10 just cannot participate. The average team where not strong enough to do the battles with 25 players so splitting was also not a option
7:34 Allegedly you can get max mons from G-Max raids
tried a gmax blastoise yesterday. took THREE ATTEMPTS. we only finished it with the entire lobby maxed out.

This sounds like BS. We beat Charizard with 18 players and 40 Pokémon remaining.
16:04 ahhh yess, Empire State of mind in California
Tried a raid with a couple friends, got decimated with full evolved type advantage dynamax pokemon and still got slammed, gave up and rethought my choice of mobile games and I’ve decided I’m going back to clash of clans
The reason they’re so “hard” to beat is because people are joining with TERRIBLE counters, squirtles against blastoise etc. Some aren’t even tapping. There are so many noobs with 0 knowledge that join it makes it way harder.
I work at Hershey Park and all day I didn’t have enough people ON SATURDAY at my raid
It crossed my line. Not even going to bother. Niantic hates anybody who doesn't live in the largest cities in the world.
This system is complete garbage. I did a couple with packs of 40 and we barely even managed to beat them. Complete bs it is nearly impossible to beat and to catch them is even worse.
This is the worst pokemon go update ever
40 people?! Unlike raids they shouldn’t put a limit on
OMG do you know how many of these videos I’ve watched just to figure out the mechanics of these annoying raids! I didn’t know you swiped over that thing either!
I hate these raids!
I live in The Bahamas where this will be next to impossible for me to even attempt with 2 people let alone get 40. Fuck this game
I haven’t even done a normal dynamax raid with someone else. Let alone a mega dynamax with 40 people.
You dort need another one for dynamax
@@Tiese2807 that’s correct. But you can. I live at a place where i have never seen anyone do a dynamax raid or join the one i am in. So what i’m trying to say is that i will never be able to do a mega one because we will never get enough people.
@@iness7308 yes. I am sry to hear.
Yes! I played once when many cheered and Boss couldn't even attack

Rural places would suck, but my place has a hub where players gather and we took out all 3 starters
I got a 100% Galarian articuno!
1:40 did he just learned how to swipe left and right?????? HOW??? It took him 3 whole updates to learn 😂😂😂
Yo if they had a remote raid pass feature would be goated maybe it should use the watts like it is in Pokémon sword and shield.
By the end we were about 20 people, with mainly 8 covering like 70% of the damage. The eight being in two teams with planned people to help heal and the others smashing. The most important things are communicating and strategy. Realistically, they probably can get beat with 12, three teams with the strategy I mentioned.
Got all 3 but i had to spoof to get them. Literally impossible in my town with 2 pokestops and one gym
I swear I wish I knew how.
I wish I knew how to spoof without getting in trouble with niantic
@@starman1494don't even attempt it at this point. they're cracking down hard on cheaters nowadays. if anything, you'd need to make an alt account to do these gmax battled and trade them over to your main account because getting a 7 day ban is inevitable
i went to an in-person hosted event and we still failed multiple times with 30+ people.
I saw that the shiny odds for these are 1/128 but I highly doubt it’s that high.
10:12 look at the bottom left how is that guy’s sobble still alive😂
They should be guarantee captures!
I got all 3 but no shiny yet and by doing em I think that the most easy is venosaur or blastoys. And to think that I tried charizard first with 40 people twice and lost but blastoys first try🤣. So I did charizard with blastoys
Next time there’s a gigantic max event, we should definitely be able to buy remote particles, and then we can do it from anywhere
2:30 I always thought that to😂
This is horrible. In the main games these are beneficial to do online raiding. To make these solely in person and extremely difficult, and no remote invites. Makes this such a terrible misstep.
I don’t live in a big city and I even went to one, no one was raiding them, please Pokémon go, make a way to beat them easily
This was in england for like a week and it was so hard the only pokemon i caught were dynamax 💀
The number at the top right when you’re doing the raid, it’s not how many people are left. It’s how many Pokémon are left from those people.

Could use a pack of max particals from the shop as a remote raid pass. Then, add the ability to add or be added by friends to a Gmax raid.
The single pack is the same amount of particals as the raid itself. It would make them easier
Done charizard with 14 people..
Just organize a group, coordinate well and be strategic.
Why do you think they have campfire??
This may seem outrageous but gigantimax Pokémon should get nerfed to the point where you can have only 5 maximum trainers in the raid, usually in swsh, the maximum amount of players is 4 fir even g max raids, they should be able to be taken down by 5 players In pogo, not only will more people be interested in raiding them, but also for the overall player base and for players in rural areas
(Obviously they will still be hard to take down)
Besides every other thing mentioned in the comments, they are crazy hard to catch as well.
(also an azelf spawned near us halfway through so a third of the group split off for that wich didn’t help)
the dificulty us ridiculous.
Sucks to get bad IVs from 4 raids after all the effort you put in.
I went even to the city center and didnt manage to find 1 raid which I could complete. They need to nerf them a little bit but also to make it avaiable to the remote raids.
