The Vocation system looks fun, but I find it odd how there's only one advanced vocation (the Sage). I'd love to see more advanced vocations in future Dragon Quest titles, like the awesome-looking Dragomancer introduced in Dragon Quest X. I look forward to playing around with the Monster Wrangler, though.
To be fair, technically this entire comment is correct. Sage was the only unlocked class, and in later titles there were more types of classes that could be unlocked. At the same time, this is THE Sage, from Dragon Quest 3. Later titles simplified/nerfed it, this one learns every spell in the game plus more I think. And they can use swords too, plus since physical abilities were added to this game, I'm interested in how they made the sage even better this time around.
It was one of the first console rpgs with the concept of reclassing, so the idea was probably having only one special class with requirements to keep things simple.
Lol you mentioned dragon quest x. We don't do that here 😂. You got good points but this company does dumb stuff, especially when you compare dq9's multiplayer and character customization (though the fetch quests to unlock classes were annoying). Nobody's learning. Just hope dq1 and 2 are unadulterated lol. I never really liked the huge stat reductions in dq6 and dq7 classes too. Still, the narration was nice. Dq3 vocation should make the stat reduction optional on easier difficulties. Luck is a huge deal for dig, and gadabout Sage shouldn't be so mediocre, let alone cleric/Mage turning into 1 already learned half the spells.
Technically yes but in DQ3 you can't actaully change OUT of the Hero job for that party member but in MOST PREVIOUS versions of DQ3 the late game enemies actually start to become IMMUNE to the Kaboom/Explodet FULL enemy Black Magic spell that its pretty much worthless Zap/Kazap HERO is really the only spell that for the final dungeon or even the battles on the way to Baramos itself will NEVER miss its target unless you fighting the Stray Metal slimes in both area's.
Saaaaaame. Also would still love an “original” collection of the earliest versions of the games. Sometimes a brother wants to suffer through the NES versions for nostalgia

why in the name of gooood you changed the camera from full party to first person on the action?!!!?!?? the way it is is GORGEOUS!! why ruin the action in battle with the camera???? WHHYYYY???????
Because that's how it is in the original. They probably want to retain the "oldies" vibe with it. And before you complaining "it doesn't fit for today's standard" or whatever, it's a remake. It will try to retain the original as much as possible Also, Dragon quest battle style always been like that until DQ9 (camera change into the monsters that line up to beat you), so they just go back to the classic. You're late if you just start screaming now

Also, isn't Persona 5 battle style is literally the standard for 3d TBRPG now? Even DQXI is like that. What set them apart is the art direction
This looks awesome, but my genuinely biggest concern is the censorship. I know it's like, a hot topic, and that's weird. But I'll probably buy it on Steam once I know that there are mods available that restore the edited content. I know it's fucking weird, but I just, care too much. lol
How's it weird? Your position is normal. The weirdos are the ones praising and downplaying the censorship. Don't let them gaslight you into believing otherwise.
If it's about the crosses becoming tridents, where the hell were you 20 years ago, when Dragon Quest 8 started that trend? Your argument's been invalid for years. If it's about the character designs, here's something to think about: conservatives would've blasted the game to kingdom come for being too lewd if they weren't censored. The same conservatives who are now saying that Akira Toriyama was a racist misogynist. I get it, you want to have your cake and eat it too. Unfortunately, we live in a world that forbids that outside of mods. I'm lucky in that I don't really care that much, but you're not me, so I'll just agree to disagree and hope you can enjoy the game regardless.
@@justuswhite924 For me, I don't care about a cross becoming a trident, it's definitely not that that I care about at all lol. My worry stems more from Body Type A and Body Type B being used for what is obviously Male and Female, I'd care less so if there were a Body Type C and Body Type D and Body Type E, alongside that. But as it stands, it's posturing for no one, and othering to the normal majority who grew up with these games. Another censorship bother that I have is the armour of Body Type B having some like, orange shorts and shirt put on it, that looks ugly and is a revision to a design from a legendary artist who has passed away. I assure you that as much as "nobody cares", some do, me being one of them. And, too, like, I don't want the poof poof or casino girls to have their outfits censored neither, the entire point of their outfits is pretty clear, and the implication is still there, so why does it need to have a covering piece? And then too, to add, we live in the most sexually free time of anyones lives, I don't know if you go to parties or go out to socials or dinners or anything like that, but people are dressing in all sorts of different ways and they're certainly more revealing than what's shown in a videogame. So it just like, doesn't make sense to me. And if we're really digging deep, and if you want too much information, I like hentai man.
