I was born in Chicago back in 1941. I went to Lane Tech at Addison and Western. Many of the old buildings that I remember are still there. The air is very much better today than it was 65 years ago. Everything was covered in a gray coat of coal soot. We would get fall out from the California Edison station . The coal soot makes my nose run, I only experienced this since in Beijing. Can't do anything about the weather, but you can choose where you experience it. I now live in Hawaii.
You know you're in Chicago when you see block after block of nearly identical 1960s era ranch houses and apartment buildings 😂 Love it though, feels like home!
