Very nice! I use approximately this system and it works very well here (in Switzerland) The only difference being a 6g homemade stove and a slightly smaller cup.

Very cool. What did you make the homemade stove from?

Excellent review Martin a real pro job. Now grab yourself a Trangia 28, try it out and let us know what you think. I believe it's a fantastic piece of kit for all seasons. Regards Leonard.

Appreciate that man. The trangia 28. Is that the mini stove set? Down the gear rabbit I go 🤣🤣

Great set up, although the pot looks a bit too high above the flame, which makes sense why it took longer to boil.

Very true. If it had a wider burn area it would be better. But I was going for the lightest possible set up. Thanks for the comment 😊

I use a set up similar to yours. Mine is the Evernew Appalachian set in titanium. Small , light weight and a combined system for alcohol or wood. When using denatured alcohol I keep the burner inside a zip lock bag to protect the rest from any possibility of contamation from the residual poisons in the alcohol. The only non poisonous alcohol is a food grade one from the liquor store , Everclear 190 proof works really well.

If the fuel is poisonous and you store the Bailey burner in your drinking cup when not in use 😮 maybe use a non toxic fuel? What fuel is not poisonous?

Very good point. I would more than likely have the fuel and stove in a plastic zip lock bag or something. That's for that.

I have a tin can with the lid removed. Inside in a small zip bag containing a small Ferro rod and striker, a small tin of Vaseline and some cotton wool balls. A few twigs and sticks from the environment and I'm good to go.

Use a old bean tin. And a old 8 hour spent candle holder. Use meths. The rest is history. Make your own air vents to suit. I use this always.USE WHAT YOU HAVE AND YOU WILL NEVER WANT.👍
