Great video Martin, it was just one thing after another. Even so we still managed to have a laugh and it was a cracking night to be out. Looking forward to the next one, hopefully it goes a bit smoother 🍀
Honestly I had a great night as you can see from the chats. Regardless of the mishaps, a savage spot and good banter always trumps the shite.. looking forward to the next one.
Another great video Martin 👍it's such a shame certain individuals can't leave the outdoors as they should be instead of destroying them by littering and campfires along such gorgeous trails
100% agree. That's a lot of the reason I don't give out where I camp. I feel like not giving camping spots away is part of Leave no track. It would be my worst nightmare to camp at a spot and give away the exact location only to go back there and the place is trashed. Anyways appreciate the Jay. Have a great Christmas ☺️✌️☘️☘️
What a run of disaster fella! I cant believe it. Hiking and camping is supposed to be relaxing and calming! Crazy, just crazy and it looked so cold. I was a little worried when you started swinging that knife around too! But super spot and amazing views. I would be like you though, I would have cried, packed up and gone home early! Also, this is a cool collab idea, posting at the same time. Brilliant
Cheers pal. Yeah it was weird how any thing went wrong. But sure it is what it is. Great practice to stay calm in bad situations.. plus I learned you can turn the camera off and cry. 🤣🥹😭

This is why we do what we do, to learn. I didn't need anyone to call me a gobshite because I cursed myself out on it.
😂😂😂 sorry mate. Only seeing this now. Gotta change my settings. Appreciate the sub. You won't believe this but my milk actually leaked at the car and had to dump it 🤣🤣 that was the start of the hike. I should have none. 😂😂
100% agree mate! We've ALL left something behind, cut, poked, burnt a hole in something we didn't mean to. It's a learning curve that ensures we won't ever make that mistake again. You still remained positive which in itself is a victory. It isn't necessarily the things that go well that give us satisfaction, but the things that go awry & how well we bounce back & adapt to them. Great work 👍
New subcriber here, you had me crying laughing, never seen anyone camping with such bad luck 😂 but you kept smiling lol. By the way your eyes are beautiful.
Honestly Michelle it was never ending. The 12 black cats holding broken mirrors I saw that morning was a sign 🤣🤣 thanks for the sub and thanks for the lovely comments ☺️

Couldn't spend the night there without contact. At least I could ring from his phone. Tis all good. Great camp.
Hi Martin. That was a tough walk and camp, lots of mishaps 😂. One that you won't forget. I hope the big lad bought you a breakfast roll on the way home. All the best 👌

Good video Martin, well done sir. That Lake at the start is well known for camping, people actually drive up there along the forestry trails to camp and fish, sadly becoming too popular. The second lake you hit, I know it, its like a bowl shaped one! Fair play anyway and a great video, would you recommend the garmin etrex 32, is that what you used for navigating, thinking of getting one for christmas.

Tough camp that. A lesser camper (me) would've packed it in, or not gone out in the first place! Here's a q. though for you; why do you favour the alcohol stoves over gas stoves? Shit happens and usually happens in multiples. Nae luck. Id have lost it on camera. You were a lot better than I'd be. Also a win on the mat. Trick for the coffee is to put it in the bottom of the cup. Pour over the boiling water and steep it. The grounds will sink and can be quickened up with a couple of drops of cold. That is the way they drink it in the Baltics... As Im not as fit as before and carrying injuries, family got me a garmin messenger. That way Im not bothered about phone connections. Ive had phones stop working in Wicklow winters. It can send a pre written message to say all is well or give out an sos. Fire pits really do my head in. Not exactly LNT and they are often slap bang in the middle of a nice flat pitch.
Cheers for the coffee tip. I will be using that one. It was a bit of a shit show of a night but I really didn't leave it get to me. It was Jason's night as well and didn't wanna bring the atmosphere down. I cried when I was alone 🤣 you won't believe this but I have never been to Wicklow. Planning to head there soon. @soletrail yeah it's an old cowboy trick, or so I seen in a YT video, I dont personally know any cowboys, except, except one lad from Cavan whi fancied himself a cowboy, he was more of an arsehole.

I feel bad for laughing so hard at this one. Nightmare. Mr Martin Magoo!
🤣🤣🤣 my new channel name. . a sure if you don't laugh you'd cry. Crazy how many things went wrong but a great night none the less.. and a new phone. 🤣
Wow, it looks like you had all of next year's bad luck at the end of this year so 2025 should be great!
🤣🤣 hopefully. That camp made Santa come early to me. Nice new phone 📱📱. Great night thou. Thanks for comment
Can always use a piece of cloth to strain your coffee
@@lornamcmahon5653 very true and I had a spare snood with me. Good Idea. I think my brain was fried at that stage 🤣
Looking forward to it.
I would have lost my mind when the jacket was holed….
A lesson in life is to always carry a small amount of cash with you. When technology fails you will be glad of it.
@@ashleylovestennis6476 Hi Ashley, you read my mind. I have 20 bucks now stashed in the car for emergencies.
Add a drop of cold water to the coffee, just a drop, the coffee granules will sink.
And don't for the love of Christ, don't scald those goolies.
🤣🤣 me olr goolies.. great tip with adding the cold water. I'll use that ✌️
@soletrail yeah it's an old cowboy trick, or so I seen in a YT video, I dont personally know any cowboys, except, except one lad from Cavan whi fancied himself a cowboy, he was more of an arsehole.
@@derekgorman7939 🤣🤣 think I have a furry cowboy hat
. Well that's my next video sorted. Broke back Martin.
@soletrail 🤣 add some dangly bits and just "we're eating dingo for dinner" everyone will think your erm, Austrian, or is it Australian, I always get those two mixed up.
