- 燕地方の銅器業は、江戸時代中期に、仙台の渡り職人がその技術を伝えたところから始まったとされています。地元の弥彦山から採れた銅を用いて、やかん類が生産されていました。
The technique for crafting tsuiki ("hand-hammered") copperware spread to Tsubame from Sendai in the mid 18th century. Kettles were some of the first items made using the locally mined copper.
