Excellent video, they last so much longer when maintained. It is so expensive now to buy equipment it needs to last as long as possible.

      I agree completely

I've worked 40+ years IN a mower MFG. plant, they are NO longer designed to last, obsolescence is designed into the product

got one of these 3 weeks ago, mowed my 5.5 acre horse property that has no horses. it did great, the pastures had not been cut all summer, were 2 ft tall grass and weeds. Had to make two passes in the deep stuff but the whole place looks like a lawn now. Engine is very powerful, I have the Kawasaki. I have Z254F special edition which has very aggressive tread tires.

That zero turn has been one of the best investments we have made on our property. I think we have had it almost 3 years now and it is almost time for me to sharpen the blades. I keep it in our little shed. Spray it off after I cut oil change, etc. lubrication And it has been great. Our front yard is about 2 acres of grass and a bike and about an acre in the back and it cuts everything in probably a couple of hours. That includes climbing on and off opening gates, cutting the road etc. etc..

I HIGHLY suggest IF you want to keep it usable for years to come that you determine the Hydro Gear transmission that is actually used, then take THAT Hydro Gear assembly number and go ahead and get rebuild kits and maybe repair manual for the transmissions, maybe talk to a rep or someone who has EXTENSIVE experience with THAT model and get a list of most worn or broke parts, then stock up those parts, those low entry level ZTR's are just like the tractors, they are designed for a limited shelf life, they are designed NOT to last, I've worked in the industry 40+ years and see models built 10 years ago & less that now have OBSOLETE parts.

Good luck, we build many of the Husq ZTR's at the Snapper plant in McDonough Ga. before B&S closed the plant

Is your cutting deck a three blade or a four-blade? I believe the one out here on this Husqvarna is four blades and that's what made me figure out the problem with the stator being bad on it,, I put a brand new battery on the machine and would turn the PTO on to run the blades and and the PTO would shut off after about 25 minutes and the lawn mower would keep running for maybe 20 more minutes and then it would bog down and start missing and wanting to quit due to everything trying to run off the battery with the stator destroyed and not being able to charge anything and the stator makes AC current until it goes into the regulator and then turns into DC but I'm not going to run it anymore until I fix it because I don't want to ruin a 500 CC amp interstate battery that I just bought for it but grass season dies off here bye the latest of the end of October,, which I have moved into early November before but it's not often

Darren I've got the Husqvarna GT 2654 regular style riding mower it's a 2016 I think and I'm missing the right side belt cover on the deck but this machine is twin cylinder Kohler 7000 series and my stator was good underneath the flywheel until one of the damn magnets come unglued on the underside of the flywheel and then it turned into a blender inside of there and destroyed the stator.... I like the Kawasaki engine on lawn equipment way better than anything else and if I could find a good used Kawasaki, that's what would go on this Husqvarna riding mower I have....

Look online in the Northern tool catalog a lot of times they have motors built by Briggs & Stratton Kohler and Kawasaki for much cheaper than regular prices. These are not seconds or anything Briggs and Stratton for example builds X amount of motors to go in all brands of lawnmowers if they misjudge and overproduce these excess motors are sold to these warehouses to sell at a discount back when I was doing a lot of small engine work I would buy brand new motors for about $400 less and wire them on peoples lawnmowers. I’ll let everybody know upfront where they came from and naked by themselves if they wanted to I never had one come back or one complained. You can also try scrap yards where people carry stuff off to the recycling centers a lot of people don’t know but they will sell you what is in there also because they’re selling it for more than scrap prices.

@@Mayhemcountryliving okay I'll look into that and now our local scrap yard here in town won't sell a thing they have and I've tried for years to buy stuff down there but there's quite a few lawn mower shops around this area that have lots of junk parts and machines of all kinds but the 7000 series Kohler engines are something I just haven't been able to find so far and I would think the twin cylinder 23 HP 7000 series up through the 27 HP 7000 series would have the same stator and flywheel but I can't find none of those horsepower sizes around here within a 20 mi radius but now they have everything else in about any brand of engine that a person would need... I'm still trying to find a hood for a LX model or GT model John Deere and I've been looking out for 3 years for that type of hood and still can't locate one thats in good used condition

@@samc.291 Well, dang. The only thing I would know to do is buy a crapped out body with a good motor. Good luck buddy
