Fascinating, could watch Sammy all day.
Another day in Paradise indeed, Sammy! I still remember the reg of my FS1-E, bought new with my paper round money in the mid-70s: LHO698N. I suspect it went to the scrappie many moons ago, but back then it was freedom. My first ride on it was to school, which would have been in July 1975, just after I turned 16. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
I can remember upacking countless crates containing FS1E"s back in the day, then building them up, they didn't stay in the showroom long before they were back in the workshop for a pre delivery inspection service before being handed over to the new owner. From memory I think they were just under two hundred pounds new, but if you look back on the wage of the time it was still quite a sum of money. Oh for a time machine to go back and buy a couple of crates of them.
Great story, I hope you can find out what happened to the original owner.
You need to get ya a dremel tool, Sammy. It would come in handy for removing unwanted paint, etc in tight places. That van is a mess, lol.
Cool bike
