The thing is salah is not going up against the same level of player. Henry, Ronaldo look at the defenders they went up against. Rio,Vidic,Campbell,a.cole, carvalho. If you saw the team that Henry took to the CL final and the teams he went against in that run I can’t see salah matching that at all!
Mate Robbie has gotta chill. Henry is not untouchable and Salah genuinely is making that argument now. I’m not saying Salah is better than Henry but if he wins that Balon D’or it will be hard to argue against it.
No doubt we are witnessing one of the greatest premier league players we've ever seen. But Thierry Henry is the greatest we've ever seen. A Ballon D'Or and a champions league won't change that.
@@deanohoff by what metric? He might be your favorite, and again I’m not saying Salah is even better, but I’m saying it is 100% a conversation at this point for who is better. I could go on and on, for me Henry was always the undisputed GOAT in the Prem but I think he finally has a GENUINE challenger.

And let's not forget the elephant in the room that no one seems to mention: When Thierry Henry played in Premier League from 1999-2007, it was NEVER regarded as the best league in the world. It wasn't even regarded as the 2nd best league, but it was regarded as only the 3rd best league after Serie A and La Liga. Nowadays, Premier League is by some distance regarded as the best league in the world which surely makes Salah's achievements even more impressive than what Thierry Henry did? Let's not forget also. When Thierry Henry came to Arsenal in 1999, they had already won the double in 1998, so he joined a team of winners. When Salah came to Liverpool in 2017, they had just finished 4th and hadn't won the league for 27 years, no UCL for 12 years and no FA Cup for 11 years. He changed all that. Not alone, but he was the biggest star in that transition. And just look at the points tally when Arsenal and United used to go for the league. United won the league with goddamn 80 points. 80! No surprise, that the Premier League was only 3rd best in Europe when the league title was so cheap. In Salah's time at Liverpool, it's been consistently +90 points needed to win it and for Liverpool, even 92 and 97 points weren't enough. Thierry Henry with his Arsenal would be nowhere near the title in this day and age. This all comes down to whether Salah goes on to break Henry's G/A record this season, if he wins the league and on top of that a Ballon d'Or which would be very likely if he breaks the G/A record and wins the league. If he does those things, the debate is not even a debate anymore cause he would have as many league titles but also a UCL which Henry never got with Arsenal, more goals and assists, best individual season ever and a Ballon d'Or which Henry also never won. These guys are just talking BS. And also, you can't use the same argument for G/A when it comes to Gerrard vs Lampard as with Henry vs Salah. For forwards, that's literally why they are paid the most money in world football, just so they can get as many G/A as possible. That's why the argument with G/A is 100% valid when it comes to Henry vs Salah. But with midfielders, that's not their main job. Sure, it'd be nice if they chipped in now and again, but that's not the main point for midfielders. Midfielders have to dominate the midfield, support the attack and the defence and be controlling in possession. G/A is just a plus for midfielders, but for forwards it's literally their bread and butter and what they get judged on. Salah will overtake Henry by the time he leaves Liverpool. Everything suggests it whether it's trophies, personal records and individual awards.
Totally agree mate. Salah is THE premier league legend if there was ever one. 3 champions league finals, 1 won. Multiple golden boot winner. Winner of Liverpool's first Premier league after 30 years. He is the big game players and always makes the difference when it really matters
What an absolute load of waffle! The one main thing you're forgetting is the quality of defenders not only in the EPL but also in Europe that Henry and other stikers faced at that time. To discredit the EPL back in Henry's era is pure disrespect. You're conveniently forgetting the EPL was the most watched back then too 2000s onwards. I rate Salah highly and he's in my Mount Rushmore of Premier League greats but you've gotta relax with this Salah is better debate.

Btw, I'm not discrediting The Premier League from 1999-2007. I'm saying it was the 3rd best league in Europe cause that's a fact. Serie A and La Liga were better leagues at the time and the very best players in the world played in Juventus, AC Milan, Inter, Real Madrid and Barca. Arsenal and United also had some but it was nothing compared to Serie A and La Liga. As I've said, Thierry Henry was great and he did it in the 3rd best league in the world and never did it in Europe for Arsenal. That's the big difference between him and Salah. Salah done it in the very best league in the world while also doing it for Liverpool in Europe.
@BLACKSTA361 Get off the nostalgia bandwagon. You grew up watching the league in mid 2000's and that's why you remember it as the best thing since sliced bread. Not because it was true. For midfielder scoring is just a bonus. Midfielders main job is to control the tempo, be creative, tackle and make game changing passes as well. But for forwards scoring and assisting is the most important thing. Tracking back and creating spaces is just a bonus and even there Salah is better than Henry. Henry was only good at pace and dribble but when it comes to teamwork Salah is more complete and plays the game pure tactically. He doesn't need to use much energy and beat 1v1s when he can just make crucial assists and create space for his teammates and be the most efficient player. Making quick passes is always better than dribbling and wasting time. It makes you look good but for the team it's not always the best. When Henry played, he terrified many defenders but it wasn't all about him. Arsenal were a joy to watch and the entire team played fantastic football. Unfortunately Arsenal as a team with Henry were a joke in the UCL and hardly made it past the quarter finals. Let's not even talk about Barca, AC Milan and Madrid; smaller teams like Galatasaray, Celtic, Spartak Moscow etc terrified Arsenal who at the time were playing the best football under Arsene Wenger. Where was Henry in those kind of games? The opposite can be said of Salah who has helped his team reach three UCL finals. In conclusion, i can't say that Salah is better than Henry or vice versa. They played in different eras; with and without VAR, soft penalties recently, referee scandals etc. The verdict depends on what lens you are wearing. I cannot believe Liverpool fans are forcing this debate. 4 months ago many still had Ronaldo as their RW in a Prem XI. Now there’s Henry comparisons. Mental
Is it goals? Assists? Trophies won? Impact on a team? Style of play? Enjoyment/ wow factor?..... There are so many ways to look at this. Salah has crazy stats and some amazing moments. I think it is an overall style and impact thing. No disrespect whatsoever to Salah - he is amazing.
Henry was a more naturally gifted player. But if Salah wins another PL and CL at Liverpool, and probably a Ballon D'or along with it, he will be the best forward player the Premier League has seen. Not for natural talent, but for consistency, goals, assists, trophies.
Robbie is so arrogant to act like henry is untouchable. If salah continues his form and ends up winning the league with the ballon d'or its a genuine debate. Based on salahs form it doesnt look like he is retiring anytime soon within the next 3 years as well

I have been a Liverpool supporter for 35+ years, coming from a family that has supported the club for over 60 years. These "NewGen" fans are truly embarrassing. Stats alone do not equate to ability. Salah is undoubtedly a modern great, leave it at that. However, to suggest he’s a better player than Henry or, even worse, Ronaldinho, is utterly preposterous, no matter what the stats might say. And when someone points this out, these NewGen fans respond with nonsense about "Salah disrespect." It’s utterly childish nonsense.
It's mind-boggling that Mo Salah is smashing it on the pitch, scoring goals and winning matches for Liverpool yet his contract is still in the air. How can Liverpool even think about letting Mo Salah go with his kind of numbers? There aren't many clubs that can match Liverpool right now and offer Salah an upgrade. He could head to Saudi Arabia for a hefty contract, but I want to see him continue playing in Europe. The amount Salah is asking for him is absolutely deserving. Liverpool should pull out all the stops to keep him, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Trent's future at the club. Keeping Salah should be a priority.

Just a bunch of jealous fanboys who can't accept that Liverpool are much better than the teams they support. If Salah wins another title and the ballon d'or next year, he'll have surpassed Henry.
We always have to wait ten years before a player is finished before people start saying theyre one of the greats. Unless theyre on Messi or CR7 level, people will always have to romantacize the past and ignore the present
@br-fitness What part of that do you not understand? He has scored or assisted 30 goals out of 45 goals scored by the team. Meaning without his goals and assists, Liverpool probably wouldn't be where they are. Is English not your first language? Btw sort your grammar and punctuation out. These guys don't understand how to contextualise stats. The reason "stats" (goals/assists) don't matter with Iniesta is because that's not what his role is. If Henry had done that dribble that Mo did for the 5th goal... Every Gooner would be screaming it was the best ever.... but we have the best ever.... Mo Salah..... now pay him his dough!!!!!!!

When Henry played, he terrified many defenders but it wasn't all about him. Arsenal were a joy to watch and the entire team played fantastic football.
Unfortunately Arsenal as a team with Henry were a joke in the UCL and hardly made it past the quarter finals. No team outside the premier league was afraid to play Arsenal despite the "invincibles season".

Also Henry won two league Robbie
Did he win them on his own
Wtf does it matter grow up
Those tempted to repeat the racist 'aesthetic' BS, go watch a highlight reel, or any game. Salah is legit. He's the best player in the league.
Salah can never dominate quality players like Henry did
Cope, he’s snatching all his records this season bro + Salah plays in a harder era. Henry was up against washed Carragher and part time Uber drivers 💀💀
Have you seen his record against the top 6?
Who hasn't he scored against? Who hasn't he 'dominated'?
@bearimo2867 Salah goes in n out of games..do u know the meaning of the word domination?
@@damiankelly-i8i he goes in and out of games breaking records season upon season and we're only halfway through, and he's the most fouled player in the league - if he was refereed properly, he would add another 10 pens a season.
Why is this a debate? Salah won everything with Liverpool. Henry pulled a Haaland and had to leave his club to to a superpower club to win the champs
Salah is better now, and Salah is still going.
Henry is an invincible, until salah achieves that then we’ll talk
If you watch the goals Salah scores they are absolutely magical. See the solo against city Henry could never.
Are you for real?
Quickly search Henry's solo goals against Tottenham and then Liverpool.
Henry dribbled by half of their teams to score.
My God. You have no idea what you're talking about.
When it comes to solo goals, Henry is light years ahead of Salah.
if salah plays for arsenal or chelsea or man utd and has a name of bukayo salah, eden salah or marcus salah or even cristiano salah, these three anti-salah will reveal their hypocrisy
Every era has a GOAT. Henry was the prem GOAT in his. Salah the prem GOAT in his.
It’s not about ability.. it’s about effectiveness
Henry's still the number 1 now, though if Salah carries on the way he is and bags another PL and potentially another CL then a thorough argument can be made.
But Salah is very close though, imo he's already eclipsed Ronaldo's legacy in the PL and that's already a massive achievement.
Funny how stats are used to hype Christiano Ronaldo. Now when others are riding on the same numbers, like Lewandowski and Salah, people don't want to say that these players are the GOAT. All of a sudden the criteria changes
If I had a Time Machine and had to choose prime Henry or prime Salah, I’m picking Henry every single time.
231 goals 106 assist salah Liverpool
20 goals 17 assist this season
Numbers matter, u can't back a dihno giving the ball away on repeat, I saw him play massively overrated.
Same, weird how’s he’s been given God like status by aesthetic merchants. he’s no where near Salah, ronaldinho would crumble getting kicked in the shin at stoke city away. The physical load in the PL is hard as hell
I'm sorry but did you see his 2 assist against west ham...very skillful Ronaldinho esque you could say but with even better end product...GOAT of the prem
Liverpool fans when speaking about Salah: G/A etc etc
Liverpool fans when speaking about Gerrard: He did everything else. G/A does not matter 😂
Gerard is a midfielder 🤦🤦🤦
How's this even a debate? Salah is good but this is getting ridiculous.
Robbie has been getting triggered really easily lately. 😂
You will never change an Arsenal fan’s opinion on Henry. Salah will end up statistically better by the end of this season, but because he doesn’t have flair he’ll always be seen as worse.
This delusional Arsenal fan will never agree that Salah is the best and consistent 😂. Just leave it and don't argue with these CornernelFC fans
The fact that salah is already forcing the conversation means hes already arrived as one of the greatest. The rest is subjectivity and preference.
Just a bunch of jealous fanboys who can't accept that Liverpool are much better than the teams they support. If Salah wins another title and the ballon d'or next year, he'll have surpassed Henry.
The disrespect to Salah man! People getting offended that he’s even in the conversation! Nostalgia bias is Henry’s biggest stat above Salah
Salah doesn't have to win anything else to be better than Henry he is way better than Henry
We always have to wait ten years before a player is finished before people start saying theyre one of the greats. Unless theyre on Messi or CR7 level, people will always have to romantacize the past and ignore the present
Salah has 30 goals and assists out of 45 goals scored this season... So yeah sometimes stats do matter.
English please this makes no sense LOL
@br-fitness What part of that do you not understand? He has scored or assisted 30 goals out of 45 goals scored by the team. Meaning without his goals and assists, Liverpool probably wouldn't be where they are. Is English not your first language? Btw sort your grammar and punctuation out. I could barely understand what you wrote.
These guys don't understand how to contextualise stats. The reason "stats" (goals/assists) don't matter with Iniesta is because that's not what his role is. Whereas, the reason they do matter with Henry or Salah is because they are forward players who are there to score or assist. Please use your damn brains when debating the point.
If Henry had done that dribble that Mo did for the 5th goal... Every Gooner would be screaming it was the best ever.... but we have the best ever.... Mo Salah..... now pay him his dough!!!!!!!
Nostalgia is killing this debate. Mo is up there with thierry.
In any subjective debate you have to give context.
Henry was more aesthetically pleasing on the eye, while Salah produces the better numbers.
Both of them still pure class.
I am picking Mo Salah over Thierry Henry.
I want someone that guarantees me goals over someone that has all this amazing skill, but that’s just me.
Robbie always makes up fake facts, like when he claimed David Seaman was the best GK because he was part of the invincibles when it was actually Jens Lehmann.
Thierry joined Arsenal in 1999 so he only won 2 PL titles
Salah won the ucl with liverpool while henry bottled multiple times and had to run to messi at barca to get carried there
Did Salah "win" the champions league or did he get carried?? was he the best player on that liverpool squad?? Why didn't he make 2019 UCL squad of the year when 4 of his teammates did?? lol. foh.
@ salah won the champions league with liverpool. you dont have to be the best player on the team you just need to do your part. by your logic every teams cl win only counts for 1 person. what kind of dumb logic is this. henry bottled it with the mighty “invincibles” multiple times what about that
@@jiahaogoh2822 by that logic Carvajal >>>>>>>>>>>Salah since he won the champions league 6 times.
"henry bottled it with the mighty “invincibles” multiple times what about that"
lol. Is that why Henry was in the champions league team of the year pretty much his entire prime(2001-2006)??...beside, Henry didn't have Van Dijk, Alisson, and Mane,...to get carried by. He had to led the team himself. He played for Arsenal for 6yrs and no one even questioned who was the best player in that team, Salah on the other hand wasn't even part of the ucl squad of the tournament the year liverpool won the champions league, when 4 of his teammates were in it, that just shows how little he did "helping" his team winning the ucl. Even in the Ballon Dor voting, there were two players ahead of him. Salah played in 3 ucl finals, and the only thing he did, was scoring a penelty against a shitty ass spurs team, and went ghost the other two games. lmfao. Seriously, just stop, you're embarrasing yourself.
Robbie the Arsenal expert getting the number of leagues Henry won wrong…
Salah clears off Henry all day
He's better than henry and Ronaldinho easily He's different gravy
better than Henry on stats and on par for the get out of your seat goals and assists.. …. that french team had 11 world class …
Henry was class BUT salah is better. I dot support arsenal or Liverpool and seen both in their prime. Both have that inevitably feeling of scoring. Salah is esging it now due to his better stats and more impact.
Henry won CL but Messi was the man ! Henry won the WC but Zidane was the man
Mo salah is doing this in the most talented generation of footballers ever... Back then players could do what they wanted for fucks sake. Nowadays players are stuck to a role discipline is so much different from then. Back then you could fucking 2 foot stud someone to the face and get a yellow! Mo salah is a winger being compared to a striker who was apart of an invincible team the debate is over. Mo wins 30+ G/A halfway through the season he will break henry's record for goals and assists. The problem with arsenal fans is they live in the past you can't just live off past achievements if you could then man united are the best team ever in terms of achievements.
Henry was surrounded by better players.
Salah is on course to shatter Henry’s 20/20 record. That + one/two big trophies and a balon dor push and he’s undoubtedly the greatest forward in PL history.
@fahim6898 All I hear is stats. How about you give yourself an eye test and watch thierrry Henry's clips
