  • I'm building a new Aruba home lab for 2019. This is the first part in which I simply turn on Hyper-V for Windows Server 2016. Not exactly setting the world alight, but you've got to start somewhere.

Hey Joe, did you ever have issue with the virtual switch?

The virtual switch config via the GUI can be a little difficult to get the hang of but I've never had a problem where the switch itself was to blame. What issue are you seeing?

Joe Neville it’s a bit of a funny one. Looking at Remote Desktop services and using virtual desktops with server 2016 and the virtual desktops where not picking up a up or being able to ping google. I am running this in esxi though I know a virtual machine within a virtual machine

@@matthewlandon1697 Hmmm yeah that doesn't sound good. Plus that's not just a VM in a VM, it is a hypervisor on top of a hypervisor. I don't run hyper-v on top of ESX, I just run one or the other then the VMs on top. Otherwise you are dealing with two lots of vritual switch that need to be configured correctly. Probably not worth the effort.
