@@FluffyMomo hi there, on the re-202, which twist mode did you pick for this video? in the manual, i saw three twist types are available: Normal, Hard, and Natural.
The 202 doesn’t carry the volume of the older model, which I think is a signature of Jonny’s setup. I guess we’ll hear what the 202 sounds like in context when Tiny Desk drops.
Great comparison! I really like the style and modulation sounds of the RE-20 and I really like how it looks but at the same time the new RE-202 has more functions and has a cleaner design, although, I have mixed feelings about this new "Memory" switch. So either way I believe you have a great pedal no matter which one you choose.
I really want to know how the new re-202 perform on some Radiohead songs such as in limbo, 15 step and planet telex, it would be interesting to see if there's any difference between this and jonny's Roland Space Echo RE201😄
I know your channel focuses on gear used by Radiohead which I definitely appreciate! I’m curious if you have had the chance to check out the uafx galaxy 74’?
I prefer the verb of the RE-20 (so funny that internet bashes it so much) but the other features and other reverb types make the RE-202 a solid candidate too. I don't think you can go wrong with either =)
I love my RE-20, upgrades or not, I do not like the form factor of the RE-202, I like the design of Boss compact and twin pedals, the RE-202 doesn't match the aesthetic, and it goes against my OCD.
The Headrush 😂 Seriously though, the RE-20 takes the cake. The stand of reverb sound like a trumpet, which nods to the versatility of the pedal. The same setting on the 202 was too subtle. Also, whatever you were doing with the twist on the 20 sounded epic!
Thanks very much for the video!! Now I don't want to buy an RE-202 as much... 😂 I notice the "saturation" knob the RE-202 is set kind of low. Could this be the reason the RE-202 reverb sounds so weak?
That's a good point! I don't think so...because the saturation knob works separately from the reverb volume. The saturation knob works like a gain knob on an overdrive pedal. BTW, I completely agree with you. Now I know how RE-20 is such a great pedal😅
@@FluffyMomo Thank you for explaining!! The RE-202 has so many secret settings, I expected some settings would replace the RE-20. But I guess it is a different pedal after all haha
Great comparison video Taka! The twist (twist twist) on the RE-20 takes the cake though! 😂
Thanks! I think RE-20 is better on the reverb too🤣
@@FluffyMomo hi there, on the re-202, which twist mode did you pick for this video? in the manual, i saw three twist types are available: Normal, Hard, and Natural.
@@dbkarp My impression of the hard mode is kinda too loud and overdoing (when set echo volume at full).
So I used Normal mode in this video.
the way those repeats fade away on the 202... when you ramp up the repeat rate at 1:02... sublime.

Thanks! I have same feeling about the "Memory" switch.
I get the impression that it makes more switching mistakes🤔
@@FluffyMomo Yeah, mistakes can happen more often but it takes time to get used to, great gear as always!
I definitely prefer the old one. Thanks a lot for the demo! Which one do you prefer?
I prefer RE-20!
i got the re-20 because of this
Thank you for making this video!!!! No talking! Straight forward! To the point! Very informative with out all the jive.... I just subscribe thank you
RE202 I think I like more. The reverb options and the self oscillation sound better to me. But the RE20 still rules!

dope demo man, thanks for the insight.

The Smoke, pretty test songs!
And I think two all prefer
202買おうとしてましたがこれは…20探します!
@@user-vi4ym7kr4h 音の解像度が高いのはRE202ですが、エフェクターとして楽しいのはRE20でした。どちらも実機とは別物としての魅力があります。
You should compare them to the headrest as well, it is also a tape echo in its own right!

The RE 20!
RE-20 for the win!
202 is far more accurate. Far better capture of the preamp especially.

RE-20 for me.

RE 202 sounds more crisp, definitely that one
Its just me or the RE 20 sounds better, with more mojo and vintage?
Me too🫢
RE-20 definitely
