Anywhere in the world whether you are in Rome, Paris what more, Asian countries. Tourists are targets of muggers, robbers, pick pocketers, scammers etc. For a female traveler like you, I believe you need a guide to accompany you. I remember while visiting Mumbai in India, my Argentinian lady friend put her camera on the branch of a tree. Within seconds, it was gone. Cellphones are attractive to bad people. Just stay focus and stay safe. I'm following your vlog to see that everything's ok..
I agree, actually Europe is notoriously bad for petty crimes. I’ve witnessed it many times myself too, my friends got robbed when with me, twice in London, once in Paris and once in Budapest, not to mention the number of times I’ve seen it happening to strangers, in Istanbul, in Berlin, the list goes on! Often it doesn’t matter if you are alone. A waist bag can really help, instead of keeping your wallet in the trousers or a handbag. I’m sorry about your friend, honestly, I’ve tried to film some content in India on a tripod too and it was tough, and I had to constantly watch over my stuff, with how chaotic the cities in India are, if you lose your focus just for a few seconds, your stuff could be gone. I hope that didn't completely spoil her trip though
