Lovely video. Excellent Ferris Bueller quote. Now you just have to jack it up and spin the wheels in reverse to negate all of the mileage you've put on. 😀
Fantastic car! It’s a great all-rounder; a supercar, a GT cruiser, a 2 door hatchback shopping car and a car to pick the kids up from school in. To me the perfect, usable Ferrari. All those options I’d include except here in Australia, the £11,000 glass roof would be unnecessary and unwanted. Very nice review. Thanks for sharing.
Carbon fibre trades at $15 per pound on Chicago mercantile exchange! High end car makers can retail it to suckers at between five and ten grand per pound. The fact you have to “spec up” a new car with a base price of over £200,000 must mean they are selling you short as a price gouging exercise. There is one born every minute.
My favorite ”Money no object" Ferrari, the F50. Rarer than an F40, more comfortable, detachable roof, and 12 formula 1, flat plane, cylinders. My favorite realistic, daily driver, Ferrari, GTC4 Liesl... Amazing vehicle. The shooting break design is absolutely gorgeous. Powerful, yet balanced engine, with a gorgeous, and functional, interior. Just an amazing overall package from Ferrari. They put so many featured in this car, it's easily one if the best Ferrari's ever built...
I love the interior design from the seats back. I have no idea what they were thinking with the dash/steering wheels. All of the steering wheels/dashboards since the 355 look like arcade racers from the early 90s.
456 wins hand down on looks for me. The Gtc4 Lusso is a cracking car - but boy do they currently drop value like a stone - you can pick up a 12 month old highly optioned example now with tiny miles for the best part of 100k less than if you bought one brand new, which makes them wonderfully good value on the used market if you've got a couple of bob in your pocket and use the money you've saved to buy a tidy 456 to sit alongside it! 😃
I'm also a big fan of the 456, and it would be my second choice behind the f355 ... which I'd buy just for the sound. Problem with the 456 is reliability ...as it doesn't seem to have any!
30 Ferrari's wow Scott. You are living my dream. Would still really like to hear the story on how you know so much about thes cars. Just a hobby for you or do you have industry experience. This was a great comparison and that Lusso is just on another level.
I'm not really a fan of modern sportscars but I really appreciate the Lusso. Maybe I'll get one as a daily... in 25 years or so. Also, the styling might not be everyone's cup of tea but personally I love the Breadvanesque, shooting brake style (Z3M Coupe, Scimitar GTE... or 250 GT SWB 'Breadvan'?)!
I own a lucco v 12 and it is the greatest daily only problem is i put 8k miles in 6 months :( love it anyway, and surprisingly cheeper to insure then my 2017 jag f-type
It is a beautiful car, especially from the rear in my opinion. But the Italian flag batch on the rear does look like it came from some sales stand on a motorway gas station. And the exhaust tips would become black of their own just fine from driving and not cleaning them.
Great video as usual Mr.R, yes you got to have 1 as your 2 special guest probably agree, must have that 13k Big glass roof and daytona leather seat, (probably without that alcatara strip that you couldn t find lol), i don't think carbon bits are critical for these car perhaps std silver panels would look more classy in long run, i personally think this GT4C bit over spec!!! yes off course the V12, (not the V8 T silly option lol) about colour... i think Tdf blue with these interior would look even better, hope you soon have one in your drive alongside the 456 360CS...
and what have we learnend from this video: The 456GT Venice has less legroom than the lusso. i always thougt that the big station wagon from ferrari is bigger than the lusso. Well i was wrong. In my opinion the GTC 4 Lusso is the best allroundcar that you can buy as long as you do not need a van. But this interiör.. why? my eyes are bleeding... Oh thank god it is just the color of the seats... ah my eyes.
Ya another fine presentation. If you can rotate the tire's with just a lug wrench. It probly could be an argument that it's a daily driver. Don't think I'd go to the wrecking yard with it though. ha ha still love that 456 especially if they fluxed the alloy the heads are cast from
That might be their most complex ever road car. You’re going to have your hands full. How in the world they sync the front axle gearbox with the rear drive is something I’d love to hear about. I don’t know of another all wheel drive car using so complex a layout. The engine view belongs in the Louvre.
That spec on the interior is fantastic. Daytona seats. Full leather to the dash and headliner. Very hard to find one with Daytona seats!! Is that car for sale>
Love the Lusso from the front and back, but from the side the rear just looks strange. I know Ferrari notched the back that way for more head room, but they could have made it more flowing....
yes, the only difference really used to be the gear stick in the centre, but now with all the f1 system its the same just on the right side of the road
Oh man. Can anyone agree that a base spec GTC4 Lusso must already be a kick ass beat-everything-in-sight monster? With absolutely zero need for upgrades. C’mon it must be so! 🤩 Save a 100 grand! Bingo. Just a like that.
Great review as always Scott. Indeed Ferrari has come a long way since the 456, but I still like the ‘grandfather’ car 😁. Is the V12 nowadays not a ‘derivate’ from the V12 from the 456?
Good all round review and a great car. If funds allowed, myself and my boys would love it as a daily. Always makes me cringe a little when you reference your stradale, yes you put a lot of time and money in sourcing genuine parts and building it up. But the fact is it’s not a stradale, and that would be reflected in the resale. Good job with it though.
You know that Dr Hook song - ballad of lucy jordan? That goes "At the age of 37, She realised she'd never ride through Paris In a sports car, with the warm wind in her hair" Yeah well ... I think I know Lucy Jordan felt.
The pricing on new Ferrari's is madness but it doesn't bother me. Their cars don't appeal to me personally as they are impractical and are not long distance cruisers. I still like to watch the videos however. For me it's entertainment. Your ratarossa is amusing but I like to see you take a better conditioned example and refit that for the modern era. That would be really cool.
Love that car as well, in my pricerange when its 10+ years old. But Im scared with modern ferraris if they get old. What if the computers brake down? LCD screens etc?
Very nice Ferrari, but not my choice. I just can't get past the "Hatch" element to the Lusso. If I ordered one, I would order the absolute base model...it would most likely be the only one in the world and with money I'd save, buy a nice little cottage in the country to drive it to on the weekend. Thanks for the review.
GTC4 is ugly as sin - hint of the Breadvan. As a 456M GT owner, that was beautiful beyond - except the wheels looked unfashionable. You're sounding like a RUclipsr, Scott, afraid they won't lend you another to review. Channel your Chris Harris.
I honestly loved the Lusso ...really would have one, just not at that price. It was a bloody good drive and the extra room over a 456 rear seats for the kids was much better and could actually be used. Didn't try the V8 version but the V12 really packed a punch.
“If you have the means I strongly recommend it”. Anybody got the the means here? 😂 it’s too long and the styling compromised by the +2 configuration and upright hatch so I wouldn’t want to own one if I did have the means!
Looks amazingly good, in spite of all that carbon'fibre stuff. It just doesn´t do it for me. I see your younger daughter has been properly brought up to say that daddy giving it the beans is funny.

That engine note is astounding. Wow.

Looks a lot more modern. Modern interior. Very useable and driveable
agreed
you got one then?

Looks more like a modern day scimitar GTE ,than a Ferrari
Agreed, I can't wait for Ferrari to bring back the Robin.
Scimitar GTE, who’ve ever seen one in the first place? 😄
Per Eldh I’ve owned one a 1975 yellow 3 litre V6 auto in 1990!
Great looking car, great review!🤩👍🏻

I've seen a black one in person. Got so excited but my light turned green and had to drive off
black would look fantastic on that lusso

Hahaha , right ! shame for Ferrari !
The car is great but what is even more amazing are you daughters. They are adorable. I love your videos and can't wait for more of them. Cheers
I love the looks, the bread van was a strange Ferrari but somehow it grew on me just like this shooting brake style has since the FF ...WANT !!!
The Lusso is amazing!!
"It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
With a young family it's the ideal family " super wagon".
Maybe an FF would be a nice place in the middle for you, great video!
Think the Lusso is a superb all rounder, great review ....Love the Ferris quote !!

What you forgot to mention: how much is the tow coupling? In case you want to pull your rv or sth.
What is an sth?
No point in getting any of that exterior carbon fiber panelling, weighs more than the plastic and doesn't confer any advantage strength wise.
It is a beautiful car, especially from the rear in my opinion. But the Italian flag batch on the rear does look like it came from some sales stand on a motorway gas station. And the exhaust tips would become black of their own just fine from driving and not cleaning them.

Ferraris are really only for people who don't have to ask what they cost.
If you like something, you don't care about the price of it. You just gotta have it.
That might be their most complex ever road car. You’re going to have your hands full. How in the world they sync the front axle gearbox with the rear drive is something I’d love to hear about. I don’t know of another all wheel drive car using so complex a layout.
The engine view belongs in the Louvre.
The front gearbox is engaged only for the first couple or 3 trans gears. Once a certain higher speed is reached the front gearbox disengages
You’ve inspired me to join the Ferrari family. A 2+2 but not quite the Lusso. I’m going back to your roots and starting off in a Mondial
I’m 63 and been looking to buy an F12 but now I’m having 2nd thoughts. After losing my wife a few years back I’m having a mid life crisis.
Come on don't get thrown down, i think your wife would like you to be happy

My 3 bedroom house with a garage cost less that the stereo and I've bought entire cars for less than the price of the centre caps.
There is £200,000 profit for Ferrari on each of these cars. The suckers that “spec them up” cover total production cost of the car.
Cheers Scott, awesome vehicle!! I have noticed at 12:58 you have a little bit of Ed the duck going on!!🚒👍
lol i really did
Great review I would certainly have one of these, maybe after a year of depreciation ?
After a year they stay in the low 200’s they dont budge
Great video very tempted by the GTC4 Lusso.
I was shocked at how much i liked the car
2 kids and a Ferrari, you have won the lottery
So glad Ferrari has kept up with the 1994 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo with rear wheel steering.
The 456 has still more class. Maybe the GTC4 will have it in a few years as well but the 456 is proven timelessly beautiful.
The Lusso will be a quirky collectors car in the future. It’s stunning and has that honeysuckle V12. Great vid
Love the Lusso from the front and back, but from the side the rear just looks strange. I know Ferrari notched the back that way for more head room, but they could have made it more flowing....
i really like the lines, i tank in the flesh it looks much nicer than in pictures or video
Really dumb question: On a right-hand steer car, is the accelerator pedal still under the right foot ?
Yes!
yes, the only difference really used to be the gear stick in the centre, but now with all the f1 system its the same just on the right side of the road

Paul Wallace (Supercars of London) drove that Lusso too. I think this time last year?

wow !!!

Not once did you mention it has 4WD?

Loved it! I’m going to go buy one straight away.

One of my favourit Ferraris. :)

lol
The carbon fiber bits are a joke - ridiculous price and no benefit to make you go faster other than lightening your wallet.
I would go for an FF as they start from 98k on Autotrader.
Nope , 550 is far nicer .
Sounds a bit 60 degree V6 nasally?
To me it looks not quite right. The 456 looks far better. In fact I think the 456 is simply beautiful.
