Jodie Pollock Jodie hi, I just wanted to say that you were brilliant hon, I think you were so brave going on camera for you're time with Kirsty! I think she's so talented but modest too though jeez you'd get folk with hardly any ability or talent thinking they're great but you'll get there Jodie and hey we'll all be tuning in to watch you're channel soon!!!! Good Luck honey, take care 💟😘💟

    • @xtrisaratops
      @xtrisaratops 7 лет назад +11

Jodie, you did brilliantly! I think it would awesome to have you come back to the channel in 6 months to a year and show your progress, as well as talk about the things that you've found most helpful in advancing and becoming more comfortable as a nail tech. I really think that it would help and encourage so many new nail techs or those who want to learn how to do their own nails as a hobby.
I truly wish you all the best in your new career!

This is one of the most useful videos I've seen in ages from you Naio! Brilliant! It's really helpful to see how you fix mistakes I'd love to see more videos where you show us how to fix our mistakes, because as Jodie said, we don't always know how to fix those, and of course Kirsty Meakin doesn't make mistakes with her nails!! ;)

Fabulous video!! This should be a monthly series. Nail School with Kirsty. The normal videos are amazing but this video brings up so many good tips, and with different levels of nail techs you'll have different questions. Great video!!

As a certified hairdresser and MUA, I can say the same about only learning the basics in school. Everything else I learned through RUclips. RUclips went from being a few low quality videos to the new Google. You can find anything on here. Interesting enough I went to nailtech school, and we was never taught the ideal lenght. At least not during the 2 weeks I was there until I quit due to personal issues.

This was another very informative video from Kirsty. I too struggle with applying the acrylic around the cuticle and get a ridge. I was always afraid of filing too much around that area thinking it would create a weak point. Now I have watched this I’m reassured that everything else I’m doing is right. I just need to perfect/practice the cuticle area. Watching Kirsty is so reassuring because at times I get to a stage and think what was the next step. Practice is what helps. I’ve seen such an improvement since I started doing nails through watching tutorials, and I’ve gained confidence. Thank you Jodie & Kirsty (and of course Adam!). I have saved this video to watch stage by stage when I do my nails again next week 💅🏻🙋‍♀️🥰

You know what I've noticed, & the girl brought up a REALLY great point in this video. And that's that, the majority of people doing nails, do not pinch the nail. Her teacher even said, we don't have to do that. But! It's that little tiny thing/step, that makes such a huge difference in my opinion. It takes it from being ok, to perfect. It makes it look more "natural" lol. But it does! It doesn't look as stumpy, once you pinch it.

RUclips is awesome for learning stuff! I've learned how to crochet, as well as replace a window regulator on a cars door window (that's the mechanism that makes an electronic car window go up and down), swap out an old car radio for a new one, replace an alternator, replace spark plugs, replace an ignition, and replace the glass on my (old) iPhone.
Now I'm learning how to do nails. 😁

you are fabulous, I'm not a professional, however the knowledge I have learned thru you is inserpassable. your fun to watch, not full lol.
what you teach works. my only issue is with myself as I'm blind in both eyes, I have no peripheral vision in either I my problem is it goes over on the right and I do not see it. I don't see the whole nail as I'm doing it and at times end up doing my hair LOL I will try to figure out how to take a picture so I can show you the nails that I do. I can do them because I only see Tiny thanks walk into a wall but I can see the needle in a haystack. Hi just saw this video and am impressed with your teaching methods for sure.
It’s funny how you noticed newbies tend to make the same mistakes which by the way I too have done. I’m new myself doing my own nails so I’m learning a lot just watching yt videos. I like doing nails as well so I hVe applied to the nail tech school here in northern Illinois.
I’m just waiting for a response back from the Veterans Administration to get the ok for them to pay for my schooling. I’m so excited to start. I just don’t understand why the nail tech schools are lacking in the hands on education like you have demonstrated in your videos and technique.
I’ve learned so so much watching your videos and others on yt. Love your personality, drive and enthusiasm.
It’s definitely keeping me motivated. Thank you so much for constantly demonstrating your techniques and above the top skills👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁😁🤗🤗

She makes the same mistakes I've made, so having you correct her helps so much. Thank you for doing this video, Kirsty.

Please make another video with this girl and show us how you do her thumbs? She has clubbed thumbs (Megan fox has them) and it's a genetic condition that me and many others have and it's hard to make the acrylic nail on the thumb look nice,PLEASE PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO!Please don't mistake it for just wide thumbs though a specific video on this type of nail would be extremely helpful!Thank you babe!

They're my thumbs on the video, we like to call them toe thumbs 😂 But yes I agree they should teach more about how to apply!

I`d like to see that too, I do acrylics only on myself, don`t have that kind of thumb, but I have always wondered how can you make them look good? Curiosity. Hehe
