    I’ve noticed that most people who… ‘replicate’ a mental illness will often claim they have nearly every psychiatric disorder there is. It’s never just one, it’s all of them

    • @sharksconsume
      @sharksconsume 23 дня назад +70

      and its often conflicting disorders too
      most psychiatrists won't diagnose multiple of the same category, such with EDs, as they have conflicting symptoms and criteria
      I also see a lot of combining symptoms that would be diagnosed as one thing, such as "depression, mania, bipolar" or "psychosis, mania, depression", when it would likely be diagnosed as just bipolar or schizoaffective disorder for example

      To be fair, it's kind of rare to only have a single disorder because of how much things overlap. But also, as the other person said, they'll also count comorbid symptoms as their own diagnosis.

    • @user-qg9nl5ph8v
      @user-qg9nl5ph8v 20 дней назад +37

      Most people have co-morbid diagnosed disorders, especially with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism. Many people with Autism will have ADHD and OCD and it's not rare to have PTSD either from years of child abuse. Eating disorders are also common in Autism like anorexia or ARFID. This is actually pretty common and accepted in medicine.

    • @theflyingspaget
      @theflyingspaget 13 дней назад

      @@user-qg9nl5ph8v see it's not having multiple disorders that is the red flag, it's having multiple conflicting disorders. You can't be diagnosed with OSDD and DID but fakers always want to claim both. You can't have autism and PDDNOS or anorexia and EDNOS or ADHD and ADD but they always want to have as many diagnoses as possible so they list the whole category instead of their specific disorders.

      @@user-qg9nl5ph8v yeahhh like. im fairly certain i have ASD and ADHD and have some distressibng Pure-OCD symptoms (which could be OCD itself or just a part of ASD/ADHD) + I suspect CPTSD which was misdiagnosed as BPD (a misdiagnosis which is common in AFABs with ASD too). Or if I do have BPD then it's in "remission" after years of therapy. & theres some diagnosed learning disability stuff and then chronic physical illnesses which cause more trauma during flares + hospitalisations so more PTSD symptoms and also more OCD & GAD symptoms (but imo the anxiety is justified so i wouldn't call it a disorder, even if my psych disagrees). Mental health Professional here (LMSW) 👋🏻 I really want to push back on the narrative that they were diagnosed by a MHP. I have seen the recording and the practitioner is absolutely not diagnosing them with DID. They are hesitantly validating their experiences, but that was not a diagnosis. First and foremost, you aren’t going to get diagnosed with DID on BetterHelp or other online platforms. As you stated, it is a long process beginning with ruling out other options because it is a trauma-based disorder and other disorders have similar symptoms. I just really needed to finally let that therapist off the hook - that was not a diagnosis.

    • @yourgodismean4526
      @yourgodismean4526 23 дня назад +189

      I agree. It took me nearly a year of seeing 2 therapists twice a week(insurance used to pay for that, bion) to get enough info to take to the psychiatrist, who I then had to meet with, off and on, for a further 3 months before I finally got my diagnosis. And this was me losing time regularly, meeting ppl who knew me that I did not recognize, finding things in my home I didn’t remember buying, years of trauma, etc, etc. After all those symptoms, they STILL were super careful. Sounds like it’s easier now(this was 1993) but still. I found myself wondering if the person had paid someone to pretend to be a therapist for the video. That’s still a possibility

I'm shocked that they are posting videos of such bad information about this. I believe she is doing this for boredom, clout and just because she's not wanting to be mature. I've been following her shenanigans ever since she got on the tiktok app and I find no symptoms that even match her and I dissociate because of being an abuse victim and rape victim as well as being a autistic trans man in a family that wants me dead so I know why I got diagnosed with paranioa schizophrenia twice one in 2018 and again in 2021 where I showed real signs. I don't think she has any mental issues besides maybe being 5 years behind in the brain and not being mature? I'm no doctor so I don't know I am appreciated that you commented

      Hey I have a question idk if you will answer. I feel like I doubt the existence of "alters". I was diagnosed with DID in 2017 and I don't have "alters". No one else I know with it has "alters". It's something I only have ever seen on the internet. Only thing I could even describe as an "alter" is dissociating and having time missing and feeling like I don't really know who the "real me" is. It's just overall confusing about my being. I don't have names for these things I feel, and they aren't different people even if it feels like it. So are alters just a tik tok mental illness LARPER thing or is it just another case of everyone experiences DID differently

It's not "disrespectful", it's introjectoin & it's extremely common for systems to develop introjects of partners, parents, coworkers, family members etc, especially during something extremely traumatic. A miscarriage is stressful and traumatic for all parties involved, it's something that is completely devastating to go through. Even if TwoSoulsOneBod is not a system, you're still calling something systems do that they have NO CONTROL OVER "disrespectful", and it's really ableist.

    All I have to say is that the most I hear about them, the more I’m convinced this is psychosis. As someone who has psychosis (diagnosed) a LOT of these symptoms remind me of my own experiences. I had “other people” in my head. I could talk to them. At time I even thought they were taking over my body. Before I learned more about DID, I even thought I had it. But I didn’t, and once I learned more and met actual people with DID, it became glaringly obvious that it was not the same disorder. Combined with their experimentation with substances, ufo and other paranormal experiences, etc… all of these symptoms are hallmarks of psychosis. I hope they’re able to get help and proper treatment. "I am undiagnosed DID. I dont post about it, I dont tell people, its something that I live with. Only my fiancé and best friend know.
      I used to question all the time if my DID is just "oh I LOVE creating characters and role playing, so its just me daydreaming in my head".
      I genuinely believe its more than that. I dont dictate what the "characters" say. I dont have control over them in that way.
      I barely know anything about my innerworld. Im a front stuck host. The only time Ive been in the innerworld is when I went into dormancy, which was only a few times.
      Some of my alters are brain made, and they dont have a source. But something I feel as though I would get fake claimed for is that most of my alters are from some kind of source. Such as MHA, Hazbin, Sander Sides, Blues Clues, Dora, etc.
      One of my alters is Dora from Dora the Explore. She formed when I was younger, around 5/6. I didnt know about her existence until a few months ago (I realized I was a system in 2020).
      She is like her source. She acts like Dora from the early seasons of the show. She is specially a mood booster. She doesnt front, but from what Im aware she helps younger children in the innerworld.
      Another alter that split a few months ago was Alastor from Hazbin Hotel. He does not act like his source. He fronts a few times a week, his sorta a co-host? He helps me do tasks when I mentally shut down and can not do anything. He helps me get things done when I can not.
      I currently live in my home with my biological family. I constantly feel stuck in fight or flight, and I split fragments often.
      I have a lot of alters, old and new. I dont even know the extent of my alters, my innerworld, and what goes on in there.
      I do know my system is safe, which I know is NOT common for people with DID. I dont have malicious alters who want to do harm. I have some trauma holders who act out, such as one of our Bakugo alters, but they want to protect me. With help, hes calmed down and works through that anger he has daily.
      I feel as though I am faking my DID since I dont show symptoms, it doesnt affect my daily life.

    I think this huge surge of people taking about it is good, when it’s educating people. But some lazy/bad doctors are also seeming to take part in it.
    She didn’t even tell me she was diagnosing me with it, it was just on my paperwork after an appointment. It caused a lot more issues than it fixed since I was dealing with really bad ptsd, and dissociating a lot. I was trying to get help for something I didn’t actually have and kind of went into a weird state of psychosis. Once I was removed from the dangerous environment I was in, and began having a healthy diet with support from loved ones, it just went away. I talked to my new doctor about it and they were shocked by my experience, removing it from my diagnosis.
    I thankfully never posted about it online, but I told friends and it was so embarrassing having to come out and be like “heeeey- crazy story.”

So many times doctors make snap judgments without ACTUALLY discussing things with the patient. If they suspect the patient has a certain condition, they absolutely should ask more questions to see if the symptoms actually line up with the diagnostic criteria for something. I'm glad you have been able to find some balance and I hope it will be even easier to manage in the future!

      I am not an expert in this matter but do have a pretty significant interest in neuroscience and the mechanics of the brain. Though we still don’t understand a lot of neurological mapping and which areas are responsible for what we do have a general understanding. I’m willing to wager that if someone was to conduct a working fMRI of their brain, if what they claim is true you’d see it in a scan somehow. For instance we can see when someone feels certain ways about another person based on which areas of the brain light up. Professionals would be able to see if something different was happening in their brain. It’s too bad fMRIs are so expensive and used almost exclusively for research and serious cases. We’d be able to understand what exactly is happening in cases like these a bit better. Provided they’re willing to take an fMRI. Something tells me they’d back out for one reason or another.

    1:31 with peace and love /gen this isn't how percentages work.
    like, for instance, numbers vary, but the percentage of adults with ADHD is ~5% and the percentage of adults with PTSD is ~4%. if you treat this as simple math, then that would mean that the percentage of adults with both ADHD and PTSD is 0.2% (two people for every thousand)
    however, PTSD and ADHD are comorbid. Posttraumatic stress disorder in adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder: clinical features and familial transmission (Antshel et al) showed that 10% of adults with PTSD had ADHD (of the sample size of course).
    in a hypothetical group of one thousand people, 50 people would have ADHD. and if 10% of those with ADHD have PTSD, then that would be five of every thousand.
    i know this seems nit picky but even with those two illnesses, the difference in the basic math vs. taking comorbidity into account is 2x+ greater.
    for instance, i have (professionally diagnosed) hEDS and POTS. EDS percentages are about 0.02% for the adult population (two people for every ten thousand). POTS is estimated to be about 0.2% of the adult population (two people for every thousand). If you just multiply the two, you get 0.00004%...(four in every ten million people)
    EXCEPT that doesn't account for the fact that EIGHTY PERCENT of people with hEDS have POTS. so you end up really looking at 0.016% (1.6 people for every ten thousand)
    To visualize that:
    basic math: 4 people in Michigan have both hEDS and POTS.
    math when taking comorbidity into account: 1,600 people in Michigan have both hEDS and POTS.
    that is a MASSIVE difference.
    the reason i bring this up is that there's this false idea that the more "rare" conditions you have, the less likely you are to be "real." when in reality, if you have something rare it's likely that you have other conditions that are equally strange.
    i'm not saying this to justify this account though LOL.
    (and if i forgot to carry a decimal point somewhere please let me know...if i'm cringe i want to be at least cringe but correct) /lh

    26:28 About their voice switching-- She's trans, and has either had voice training lessons or has practiced it a lot herself, so she can go between the voices fairly easily. This isn't all that uncommon of a talent, although it is certainly an impressive skill that can be incredibly well-refined, like in this case. For another example of this, check out the monster called The Unknown from Dead by Daylight-- this is a shape-shifting body-snatcher type creature has a masculine and feminine voice provided by voice actress Zoey Alexandria, who was a professional "Transvoice" teacher and thus has a very similar ability to switch between two distinct voices at will.

    As much as I don't believe TwoSoulsOneBod and don't condone ANY of the actions they've done, I respect how you talk about them in this video. You explore the possibilities of there being two souls in one body and mildly entertaining their claims. It's like a breath of fresh air to watch someone talk about a bad situation by fully exploring both sides and letting the audience decide what side to be on

    The whole "was diagnosed" thing is complete bs. No one is gonna diagnose someone in 1 session. I actually wonder if that person actually is a licensed phycologist at all. I've often wondered if it was a friend or something playing along. Even if they were a professional someone that has been faking DID kinda knows what to say when answering questions. That's why a diagnosis like this, especially one that has been so "trendy" recently would need months if not years of therapy and analysis to see if they really have it. Any professional work their salt isn't gonna just say..."I've only seen you once, you've never had childhood trauma, this isn't how DID normally presents, the switches aren't exhausting, traumatic or stressful and can be controlled and the timing is off... but you say you have alters, so you have DID. Let's call it a day". If he truly was a real professional I really question everything about them. They are a hack and the board should be looking at them more closely.

    one thing i’ll put here, not that i’m ENTIRELY convinced twosouls is faking DID (im like 80-90%) but something i see a TON with people who fake DID (an example i can think of is the wonderland system, and many others) is people who *really think* they have DID, when in reality they maladaptive daydream. i maladaptive daydream, i have a dissociative disorder, but not DID. i’ve gone through a ton of trauma and a lot of the time that can cause maladaptive daydreaming, and, when you don’t know the difference, a lot of times the combo of having oc’s, and maladaptive daydreaming can make someone like this say “oh! this is DID!!” when it very clearly is not. i can’t really explain what maladaptive daydreaming with dissociation is like, but if you daydream as you being those other people, those oc’s, i can see maybe how someone uneducated on DID would think that. dunno if that made a ton of sense but that’s my two cents, not a medical professional.

    Totally comes off as psychosis more than anything else. Edit: ESPECIALLY after hearing she experimented with psychedelics. As a system, acid was pretty nightmarish at times for us and the rapid switching alone was completely exhausting. We all felt like a damn rubix cube and had a pretty severe episode of psychosis after. Obviously not the case for everyone, but her obsession with the spirituality of what she originally called a mental disorder is very weird. In psychosis, all your delusions feel so real so I don't think they are doing this with the intent of faking and damaging the DID community.

You don't have to limit yourself to one consistent persona and say you're another soul/alter when you want to be something else. Jeffery Mishlove should probably not be regarded as a DID specialist or even a reliable doctor. He has "the only doctoral diploma in parapsychology ever awarded by an accredited university". Parapsychology is all about psychic phenomenon, and Mishlove's career is all about being a media personality, not a doctor. Because he believes in parapsychology, he will absolutely not evaluate "real" disorders in order to favor his own parapych solutions. The problem is, grifters like people are just close enough to legit that they can use their primary skills (read: sales) to have very very loud voices on social media, covering more established research.

It was made by a nonbinary person to explore these themes of identity and love. Given their name is inspired by star trek It's interesting that their identity mirrors so much from steven universe. The character Garnet in the show is literally two people in love living in 1 body.

    I'm sorry, but the transplanted alien-in-a-human reveal is so weirdly like a major plot point in the anime Birdy the Mighty it's a definitely hard to swallow. Granted, in the anime the human "died" because the alien accidentally punched him to death, so she hosts his mind in her body while his body is getting fixed, but like..... It's just odd. The show is even a guy and girl pair, but granted it's way less creepy than whatever is happening here.
