Thank you for this great piece of historic record. Just like your video for the last sailing of the late, great, Pride of Dover - which is now a valuable memento of one of the greats of the Dover strait. Amazing to see just how well looked after this vessel was in comparison to the similarly aged Prides at the end of their P&O careers. BF do a great job. Your work is truly valuable and appreciated, thank you.
I was in Le Havre yesterday for work and was surprised to see the Bretagne docked there. When I left, I saw it heading inland. Little did I know, it was for the last time! 😮 I’ve seen this ship many times. It’s crazy that I spotted it in Le Havre by accident after its final voyage!
Thank you for your video of "Brittany". Glad to have seen other Brittany Ferries fans on the Saint Malo/Portmouth route and the same on the way back. We saw each other but not for long.

Hi Michael Thanks very much for doing this trip and up loading a great video. Bretange a fine ship. I used to crew irish Continental line back in tge 80s . St Patrick and St Killian ferries between Rosslare and Cherbourg and Ross Le Harve. A sad day for her crew. Fair winds sailing for her and her crew.

A suitably respectful tribute to a fine vessel. I only travelled on her one in 1990 to Santander. I remember going out on deck around 6am to a perfect sunrise in Biscay, just me and a couple of crew hosing the decks of this (then) fabulous new ship. Great memories. Thank you for sharing this film.

It's very sad watching those last shots as she sails away past Round Tower. The 80's parts of her interior now look really cool and retro, she's been around so long. Great video too, I enjoy the unscripted vlog style.

I remember her when she was new. She was seriously impressive and set a new standard on the Western Channel routes. She maintained that high standard to the end. I'll miss her. Before that the best on offer were the likes of the Duc de Normandie and the Super Vikings.

I remember well the excitement I felt when being on its maiden sailing from Roscoff to Plymouth. It was an amazing experience for the period, but the highlight was that when we arrived in Millbay, they couldn't open the bow doors due apparently to sticking fresh paint! It took them ages, bashing away with something very heavy! This being reasonably close to the Townsend Thoresen disaster, I'm pretty sure this is better than having your bow doors unzipped! 😊

Lovely film / Sad but Happy - Happy but Sad. 😢😢😢 Her horn is so mournful. I could not have stayed in a cabin below the waterline though - you’re far braver than me 🫣🤣
My heart breaks to see this beautiful ferry retired. I have travelled so many times on her, whilst working in France and she ALWAYS got me home safe and soundly slept. Dining was always fantastic in the restaurants on board. And the majority of the cabins comfortable. I sincerely hope that she may get used as a relief ship, or maybe for Guernsey/Jersey perhaps. I just don't want her sailing to Alang or similar. Farewell BRETAGNE, a fine old lady of the seas....

R.I.P to one of the best Brittany Ferries. Will she be scrapped? She still looks like she could operate for many years to come.
