Yes Catholic Church domination and repression, institutional violence in schools and orphanages, the Magdelene laundries, rampant child abuse, emigration, poor housing......give me a break !!
Some of those pictures are post '62 - like 1966 or later. In 1962 the buses were green: the blue and cream colour scheme was not adopted until about 1966.
Lovely memories, very clear images and music to complete the atmosphere.
Beautiful, proud to have been Dublin born , there in the Rotunda.
Wish Dublin was like that now😢

@1:07 advertising Black and White whiskey on the tram, and Bells cleaning advertised with swastikas on the truck. Different times.
The swastika was the emblem of the Swastika Laundry, which was owned by the same firm as Bells Cleaners. The emblem long pre-dated its use in Germany!
Thanks for the info!
Patsy at his best ❤️
Interesting photo at 2.36 - he looks like he's about to eat her hat
A lot of those photos were rather old by 1962!
The song is Dublin in 1962, rather than the pictures, but most are fairly close.
Very good and interesting photos but not one credit given to any of the photographers !
Had to mute that dreadful racket thats suppose to pass as music.
