- I participated in the RideADV.com.au 1st Introduction to ADV riding held in February 2023. We did the Ourimbah loop. I have been riding off road for three years.
Looks like a great spot.. LOTS of people. The problem I’ve had with large classes is too much time sitting still in the heat..
great editing by the way!💯👍🏽
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. Cheers
Fantastic Job Steve. Thank you for sharing this amazing experience. Patrick
Thanks Patrick you did very well too
That’s a lot of people riding very close to each other 😅. I would be going nuts.
lovely footage again Steve, thanks, greetings from sunny Scotland. I like 'the three Ds'-could apply to any hazard including people! 🙂
Thank you mate
I noticed you did all of the dirt in Road mode. Is that by choice? I put my GSA in Enduro Pro when I can see dirt coming up...... Good video. Cheers.
Thanks Geoff well spotted. I’m trying out using traction control switched off and road mode. The advantage for me is the suspension is about 2cm lower than Enduro pro. I think it helped. I might include that in a future video. Try “Steve’s Tesla” too if you’re into EV’s. cheers
Interesting that there didn't seem to be any of the bigger adventure bikes (No GS1250, Pan America, Tiger1200), maybe I missed something. How would you think a long time road rider but beginner in off-road would fare on a big adv bike doing this ride/training because much of the ride looks more like you're on bush tracks than gavel roads, particularly for an 'intro' ride?
See my video “Older rider first ADV bike” I cover exactly this. I’m 68 cheers
@@StevesBikes01 Thank you, a very good explanation and insight. I suppose as I do a lot of 2-up on-road riding, the 400cc KTM or 310cc BMW just won't cut the mustard. Looks like I'll have to learn and deal with the 1250. But, as it's not a BMW, there isn't much available training-wise around Sydney for progressive inexperienced off-roading. I've done the Stay Upright Adv course, it is very good for first timers that's for sure but it's very basic, no creek crossings, no sand, no logs and no wet gravel/clay/anything.
