This reminds me of a game Dad used to play with my brother and I while on family vacations where he'd throw some pocket change into the deep end of the hotel swimming pool and we'd have to dive down to get it. Any quarters usually found their way directly into the nearest arcade game or pinball machine. (This was back in the 1980's-90's when such things still existed.) Can you imagine playing the same game here? They'd better have a Street Fighter II cabinet and an Addams Family pinball machine waiting!
You and me both! Although you can be over there diving it in an afternoon, it only ~45mins from the airport. And lovely and warm (33 degrees by my dive computer)
Just had a look at the website, it looks amazing! Although I wonder when/if Joe Public will be allowed to dive it? It didn't seem clear on the website on that point?
Increíble, me encantan este tipo de transformaciones y megaobras que el ser humano puede llegar a lograr con su ingenio. Asombrado con la profundidad de esta piscina.
1 billion construction cost 😬 even The Shard is reckoned in context to have only cost 1.2 billion and that’s nearly ten times the height (depth) or 90 stories high and in London too
tabby90504 seems to be the case😬. About three years ago there was a plan to build the 50m deep pool; Blue Abyss, in England 🏴 but to date little has come of it (but then again planning law in uk 🇬🇧 is about the most restrictive in the world, even one person objecting can stop a project and then there’s archeological digs that have to be paid for and again if just one artefact is found it can deal a project by years) at the time of the blue abyss initial presentation a few articles pointed to the cost of y40 and all the issues it had 🤷🏻♂️ I guess with it being Italy 🇮🇹 it had a lot of building permits to pay for 🧐
I love swimming, but I didn't get to go in 2 summers I was really sad and I cried. my mommy said I would go this summer but there's COVID-19 so we might not go! ;( pray for me guys!!!!!
the pool can contain 4 300 227.79 liters of water idk in other countries but out of my garden hoose i have 5 liters per minutte then we take 4300 227,79 / 5 = 860045,558. the answer above is how many minutes it takes. this means it would take 14334,09 hours, and that means it would take 597,25 days, and that means it would take 19,58 months, and that means it would take 1,63 years to fill this pool with a garden hoose :) thanks for your attention (iknow, i dont have much to do these days) leave a thumbs up if you appreciate my effort! :)
Fantastic time lapse!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!

MrCorvairGuy 😂
I thought it was my dad who only did that 😂 holy shit that is a Dad thing
😂
The fascinating part is, who, or where do you find financing to build stuff like this?
Money
Funds request: they ask for 10, pool costs 5, the remaining 5 is shared under the table. Italy.
Incredible job! Will check it out on 15th, dec. Can't wait!
Legend has it there’s still Champaign in the water
The fact that the building took 1 year and 1 day is just amazing.. my school took 3 years
Its a highschool btw
This is on my bucket list
5:50 a small proportion of the water is actually champagne! People can now see if their wristwatch is water resistant to 40m!
...or maybe prosecco! We are in Italy! :-D
Wish someone would have the guts (and money!) to build one over here in the UK where we have such lousy weather and visibility in the sea.
You and me both! Although you can be over there diving it in an afternoon, it only ~45mins from the airport. And lovely and warm (33 degrees by my dive computer)
One is going to be built, it's called Blue Abyss, check it out, it's gonna be pretty cool! It will even have a replica section of the ISS in it.

Yeah from what I've heard. Click this and it sends you to the Commercial diving section. blueabyss.uk/services/commercial-diving

They should put sharks and other fishes in that pool.
It's thermal water and we prefer to respect the fishes and let them free! It's more an aquarium for men! ;-)
