Great video 👍
🚨⚠️Attention to anyone who is planning on doing this🚨⚠️
Since the replacement bulb will be twice the size of the stock halogen bulb you will need to use electrical tape in order to keep it in place. I made the mistake of using what I thought was a lot of super glue and the bulb popped out of the connector and is now rolling around inside the bulb housing. Since it is at an angle there is no way to take it out without removing the entire front bumper and then disassembling the housing to retrieve the bulb. Please learn from my mistake.
Great job explaining install! I followed your instructions and the install went well. Thank you!!
thanks for making this video... gonna be working on my volt today... gonna install some VLED switchbacks...
Thank you! Your vid made changing the bulb on my passenger's side easy!
Thank you for making a video. Opening that front at passenger side is quite tricky, if you don't know the snap fit. It is easy to break those plastic snap in if push with flat screw driver. Need to handle with no too much force.
Great video, thanks!! Saving up for my volt now. I’ll save this video and do this mod.
Thanks, just wanted to know how to access these bulbs and your post answered all my questions.
Excellent video Bud! Looks chill.

Thank you uploading this, great info!
Thanks for the video. I'm struggling to understand how these work. Before you made this modification were these lights on constantly as drls? In my region my Volt's drls are in the main headlamps instead. These lower lights only ever flash for turn signals.
I'm not going to install LED bulbs, but thanks for showing how to replace the incandescent. Looks simple.
Good video and great info, thanks!
Thanks for the video! Now it looks simple to change;)
Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you SO MUCH for clearly showing how to do this, particularly the passenger side. I was ready to sell the Volt and get a car that already had LED turn signals lol. BTW I used a long strip of electrical tape and wrapped it around the bulb/socket to keep it from popping out. At least it feels secure and it will hopefully last.
Nolan Tanner I did the same thing to stop the bulb from falling out
How's the tape holding up after 2 years? Any issues with the bulbs now?
I actually sold my Volt about 2 years ago, had another kid (surprise kid hah) so needed more seats. But I never had any issues whatsoever with the tape or those bulbs.
@@NolanTanner cool, thanks for the update
In one of my previous car i had that type of LED, is very brighter and modern aspect, with the same function
any video on how to change out the entire assembly?
Are the appropriate signals already available at the connector?
are the side mirrors bulb led as well?
Mine popped out a month later. Dabbed some glue on it. It stopped working a month later. A real mess removing it - wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I used hot glue and it has not been an issue for over a year now. The popping out is a thing
Do these light up the road a bit better?? this fog lights are big fails, when I drive in the dark, I literally see no lights coming from the oem bulb.
will these work with a 2015 volt?
Way better dude!
no mistakes?
It does not blink already often turn signal?
Do you think it's possible to use this system in Europe ? We haven't constant amber light, only orange to signal turning.
Will these work for a 2013 volt?
When you did the rt side, you just took out the 4 bolts and the bumper slides out or you have to pull or disengage from where it meets the fender? I want to make sure I do not break the bumper clips shown at the 7:59 mark. thx
Nice 👍🏼
what about installing a flasher made for LEDs ..... LED FLASHER ? i moved over to all leds on my RV and the load was so low i had in to install a flasher made for low loads like this
Where did you get the front pice lip from?
Looks bright & Awesome, I hope you don't get ticket or pulled over for hyper flash.Proper installation is indispensable. i am going to do the same thing to my Volt, Thanks for the video, Keep uploading your Volt Project Videos, we al can Use it as great resource for learning and installing purpose. Thank you so much.
cuger60 you cannot get pulled over for hyperflash.
Hey Vlad, how are your blinkers constantly on as they are only blinkers? Did you do a wiring mod for that too?
+baurat88 it's not modified. They are multi function, blinker and parking light.
Does the light ever pop out?
I just watched the video and then switched my 2012’s. The OEM lights were a huge pain to get out. I had to pull on them with a lot of force.
I had one that popped out after getting it all put back together. I used some silicone on the sides of the bottom of the bulb and pushed it in better.
But it took me two hours. It should have been a half hour job if I didn’t have to search for tools and didn’t have issues removing the old bulbs.
The lights are a huge improvement when driving at night since these illuminate the sides and close up by the front a lot better. Well worth the money and I should never have to deal with them again. :)
Now onto the DRL hack...
Ordered a set...
Hey. Where did you get that body colored bumper lip? looks great
Its white plasti dip with some glossifier on top.
@@JustVlads you mean that the dip match the white that good? I was going to send it to paint but now you said that im going to do it with dip too thx a lot. Did you use a special white or there is only one color in the dip and it match ?
is the blue hue of the parking lights the same blue/white a the day running lights
I would say they are a bit bluer than the drl, but still a good match.
Thanks. I live in Iowa where you will get pulled over for anything resembling blue. Blue is illegal here even on a bicycle.
Is hyper flash causing any car errors? I'm thinking of changing mine to switchback led.
+j coulter there are no errors on the volt but if you Install some 6ohm resistors and it will flash normal.
Wheel well mudgaurd bit is T15.
Did u paint the lower body from the black or did yours come standard the entire body painted white?
+dirt2595 it was painted, but i used plasti dip. Just the regular white and glossifier on top.
Just Vlad so you just sprayed white plasti-dip instead of going to the paint shop?
Well they can't say they didn't see you signal!!!
the resistors just waste energy so I don't use them...
Could we change the orange color that flashes? Would that be legal
Check your state laws, but probably not.
How do you turn that light on? I replaced the light with the same one but all i have is turn signal.
zsoltv you turn on your lights...
JM811Cars then they don't work
zsoltv oh... then yeah lol
Theres r bulbs that have built in resistors i cant stand that hyperflash
Does it work on a 2013 Chevy volt?
2011-2015 is the same.
works on my 2013 volt
Where did you get the bulbs from? I couldn't hear
you can get it here: amzn.to/2rQ2dUQ

well the blinking fast is telling you a bulb is out. its just because its an led and is low voltage.
Low current, not voltage.
are they installed on foglamps or those were ment for turn signals
+Andy Ramin yes, the bumper lamp is the turn signal. There are no fog lights on the volt.
Just Vlad though now then can function as fogs lamps, since they are bright and light up the lower portion of the road
Awesome, aye? And perhaps light up those dark corners of neighborhoods. That and the DRL hack to keep those lights on when the headlights are on.
Mine popped out next day! any tips on how to fix?
+Matt F (Farriswheel15) One of mine also popped out about 3 months later, so I used a tad of goop glue and its been fine ever since.
Just Vlad did you ever put in the resistors?
I never did cause i dint want to cut into the wiring, but if you do, you would put one side of the resistor on the positive wire and the other on negative of the blinker bulb.
Just Vlad i did, and the ttaps that came with the resistors are an easy way to do it. its quite east to remove the whole bumper
oh, nice! i might do my soon, these switchbacks ended up being good quality bulbs.
What year is this volt?
+Zev 2012
How does your volt say 333 miles on fuel! Mine only says 263 on a full tank... strange
Jason Latonio I can get 404 in my gas tank. You must drive yours hard.
bruh how do I unscrew the bulb to wont unscrew and it’s making me sad
T15 ? T20 ?
I siliconed mine new bulbs otherwise if you hit a bump or nasty pothole they’ll disconnect
You can change the relay to a solid state unit that blinks normally. This happens because the LED's have lower resistance, than the incandescent bulbs.
I got used to the fast blink. Mine works fine with the fast blink
eagle4life69 Right, but if you want it to blink "normally" all you need to do is change out the relay.
Nope. Not on the Volt. There is no relay, it's all computer controlled.
Basically....
I found a company in Germany that has conversion kits with lifetime warranty.
J c did u end up ordering & who was it?thx
basically
tout le monde croie que c'est un simple contacte mais non !! c'Est double contacte merci a toi je vais le faire aussi
So . . . what you are saying is basically . . . 😊
Great video! Thanks! 😊
