Love from Canada Rick Steves... My first trip to Europe was 19 years ago when I had turned 50.. I don't go anywhere without consulting you ..via your guide books and videos.... You bring light to these dark times... Keep on travelling.. xoxo
Rome + Rick Steves = an immediate “like” for this video. Can’t wait to return to Italy and, although I’ve been there before, Rome is still in my top 5 places to visit in that beautiful country
Hi steve. We watch your video all the time. My 4 years old son said 'i like Rick Steve and I want to go to his home visit him .!' thanks so much for your amazing videos. We now travel to the whole world at home.
Watched this video to prepare for several days in Rome. Tips about engaging locals & seeing art in churches like St Peter in Chains were right on. Saw Michangelo’s Moses unobstructed; no crowd. Also did tour of Vatican museums 3:30-6:30; much less crowded Light was beautiful with sun setting. Rick was right, go later in day & see Trevi fountain @ night.
Ciao Francesca, i am so happy to see you again and you look wonderful...It's time for another journey to italy as soon as the door opens again i will be there! Love from New Mexico
This is what I have called Back Alley traveling, that's where you find the hidden gems hidden from public view and ready to be discovered and explore. This is exactly the way I love to travel and explore cities all over the world, it takes a bit of hard work but in the end it pays dividends. Great video Steve.
I loved every minute of this, but I can't decide what I loved most...Francesca's wonderful contributions, their enthusiasm, the video segments and commentary, or watching Rick's adventure with that wine.
Very cool! Thank you for fling this! My husband wanted to go to Italy 🇮🇹 since we couldn’t 2020, 2021, Iv been looking at moving there! Ha ha watching all kinds of great people about where they live and why we’d like there. Ha ha I’m obsessed. Now this popped up. Simply great to know she speaks English so well! I think more people would get second homes 🏡 or live there if more were taught English.
Great job Rick ! Loved it ! I've been to Rome but did not get a chance to see it in depth it's on my list. I saw you eating your bruschetta and made me hungry lol.
Your guide books were some of the first ones I ever bought when traveling to Europe a decade ago. I've been watching your videos on youtube during this pandemic and loving every single second of it. Keep up the great work and happy traveling to you and your team. So glad science will guide us out of this craziness and thank you for being authentic.
Perfect! My boyfriend and I are planning our biggest European trip ever to celebrate my 50th birthday in Italy next February. Rome has so many "must see' attractions that it's bit daunting. All of this travel advice is greatly appreciated.
Rome. One of the cities I was going to visit, but had to cancel due to the you-know-what. I was especially looking forward to the pizza. But I'm still struggling to appreciate anchovies, even after spending 17 days in Barcelona in 2019.
I use to like you until your Trump hatred diatribe. I hope your happy with Biden and all the other ills now associated with his agendas. Why would you upset half your viewers when they find out about your political views. I would expect your views coming out of academia.
We rather Biden 1 thousands times in Italy as well. He’s not perfect but at least it’s not an horrible person. Remember that we had Berlusconi that teach us how entrepreneurs can be bad as politicians, and as unpleasant comedians who lead countries in tragedy. Not wondering why he used to go very well with people like Bush, Trump and Putin and Bolsonaro and all the people like that. Maybe you guys like Trump just because you will understand history only after death. Rick Steven’s knows the world, that’s why he doesn’t like Trump. And I’m proud of him let us know it. 🙌

Great post! I will be visiting Rome in September… Do they have covid restrictions in place?
My wife and I immensely enjoyed our Italy My Way Rick Steve’s tour in 2019. We will be doing the same in France in 2022.

Thank you both as this is truly a travel treat...I love how casual Rick is and I'd love to share that bottle of wine!
Rick, I really like your personality, your humor. And thank you for being so real, authentic, as you make your presentations the same.

We’ve been to that place in Montepulciano and loved it and their wine. We can’t wait to go back once we can travel again.

15:30 🐎 pontiff Maximus pagan, that’s cool to see all this art 🖼 !!
Listen to Dr. Mary Beard's presentations she made recently. So impressive and she explores the COMMON ROMANS and their lifestyles.
- All roads lead to Rome, or so they say. Not the A57. I drove along it the other day and ended up in Worksop.
I really Steve when he travel around, jpw come he's not working on Travel Channel or Discovery Channel
I read Julius Caesar was born on my birthday July 12
