When they had that music in the trailer with Trina falling it was easily the coolest moment imo. Those bells followed by this deep plunge are unforgettable
It's awesome that the Rellana's Cameo stance buff actually works for boss fights now. It's such a cool talisman for giving that iaijutsu-type feel to holding off your strike for a moment to optimize the damage output. Also, that Dark Moon counter is still ultra satisfying to see, and glad that it left him with a sliver of HP so that you could finish him off with that final hit in theme with the rest of the fight.

@@rfewerYou could also reposition and force him to use other attacks, or use the roll talisman or bloodhound step, or sekiro's deflect, or sekiro's feather attack which would remove you from his hit boxes, or blink, there were a number of countermeasures. If you thought you could either suck it up and go full tank verdigris (from delete this shit please) or just those options you just didn't experiment enough. I didn't like this cross slash nerf but I came around. What I don't like is the 2 remaining bugs. The bleed slash and lights are still bugged.
Post nerf radahn is peak. Hard af but fair enough for you to get good at him without needing rng or summons. He's on the level of Orphan of Kos and Gael now, as one of my favorite fromsoft bosses. Also has one of the best osts imo

The fight is actually even better to watch someone no-hit, because it plays much more normally now. Before people had to do a lot of weird little positioning adjustments and tricks to get their runs consistent, and because of that the runs just felt a bit off.
Before I reloaded the web page, this video was playing very slowly and laggy for me. I jokingly thought to myself: "I know they slowed down some of his moves, but God damn."
Contrary to a lot of people, I do think bosses should have at least 1 move that is brutally hard to dodge(pretty much undodgeable) What IMO they should have done to nerf this fight instead is slightly push away some of phase 2 holy attacks so that they only become a problem if you aren't point blank in radahn's face (similar how with the 4 kings they deal less damage with their melee attacks if you are right in front of them)
most of the difficulty was preparing for that one roll catch attack. i'm glad they fixed it and improved visibility, but everything else was not really needed.
things like damage I think were not necessary but reducing the range of certain attacks like Miquella's atomic bomb seems correct to me As seen in the video, being less massive gives the possibility of punishing in different ways. And speaking of which, old Radahn had the problem that he could instantly perform an attack too fast to dodge after opening some of his attacks, which was very annoying.
i think the longer pause after bloodflame and the ability to roll through the meteor-clone combo attack were good changes too. its not fun having to guess which attack is coming cause your vision is blocked or having a move that's only possible to dodge if you have a ton of space behind you to run. adding longer openings after random attacks though is lame and kills the frantic pace of the fight
In fact, in this game, we can easily be fooled by the effects of the moves. As long as you understand the mechanism and are brave enough, you will be able to dodge the moves.
This fight deserved a nerf. Not for the express purpose of making it easier, but to make it more fun. He's still the hardest boss in the game/series for me and should be in my opinion. Fits his character and the occasion at the Gate of Divinity following being reborn as the lord of a new age and consort to a new-born god. Super intense and climactic fight with some of the best music I've ever heard. Ultimately this patch lets more players appreciate this final fight and enjoy the spectacle and intensity of it without it feeling really unfair. Being able to fully enjoy these fascinating, larger than life characters who possess such power and majesty.

Happy that the patch makes the boss more playable, but there's a part of me that's sad to see it reduced to a pale simulacrum of what it once was. Boss rush mode when?

I fought nerfed Radahn a few days ago and don't let this video fool u. He's still hard af. He just doesn't have his bs cross slash and tight punish windows anymore. His longer recoveries is y Ongbal can even do all the fancy stuff he did.
Yeah I’m sure he still hard, but that cross slash and visibility nerf definitely would have cut my 120+ attempts on him pre nerf to around 30 attempts. I can’t tell you how many times I died to that move in phase 2 because the timing was so hard that getting hit once pushed me into the holy damage rays one shotting me.
Radahn is so powerful that despite getting debuffs by Malenia, Miquella and Miyazaki, can still can murder you in seconds. Of course Ongbal has no weaknesses, he's the strongest of Tarnished.
It might just be the change to visibility that makes it look slower. You can actually see most of the attack without the holy beams and Miquella blocking it now. That’s what made it hard to dodge before, I had to learn the timing of the attack blind whenever I struggled against him lol.
The Ranni's moon and then the dodging at the end was clean af.
