- This is not click bait, thumbnail is a still frame from the video. And yeah v8 jetski sinks, and it sucks. It was a perfect day of testing modifications Ls v8 jetski, data logging and fine tuning for more power and speed! Until something went wrong. V8 engine into Yamaha waverunner fzr jetski pwc.

After this happened I am seriously considering naming this thing the titanic. And it has sink before of course with a different engine in it. Apparently enjoys sinking 😅

Rut row... that feeling when you crank the engine and it kicks back.
just sank my SJ last weekend... no one was around cause i headed into the harbor early and i was a few football fields away from shore.. i was holding onto the tow loop for dear life and right before i made the decision to let go and swim to shore a random fisher saw me waving and pulled me and my ski in with his boat. SJ thankfully made it home and fired up again!
Oh man I totally totally sucks. I definitely feel for you you’re just lucky somebody stop by and pick you up before you decided to drop that thing down to the bottom. I’m glad you’re fired back up for you 🔥🤘

Yes the Rob ski is getting worked on and straightened out so there will be a video coming up on that in the future 👌🍻
This is a great venture...reminds me of my jetski days...only mine weren't as ambitious!! Get it going again ASAP! Looooove the LS swap. Insane what you've done.
Line the inside with insulation foam might keep that from happening again like the vid cool idea need more guys like ya out here keep making dreams come true ✌️

so lucky it wasn't deep. After my gp1200r blew up about 7ks away from the launch spot, and I had to get towed, I won't go out without at least 1 auto bilge pump. but that thing probably needed 2 or 3. thanks for sharing this footage with us
Oh yeah really really sucked. Thank you for the sympathy. Yeah hi hi I hear you don’t really want to go without a bilge pump. Of course yeah this thing needed a little bit more bigger of a bilge pump than it had. It is very fortunate that it is so shallow where we ride I think it gives us a bit more confidence knowing that if something does go wrong and our ski sinks that we will be able to get it back.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I was also surprised with myself to be honest. After looking back to the footage I found that I only said two swearwords. Which is surprising normally I would find myself weaving a tapestry of profanity in such a situation. But I think since becoming a dad I’m trying really hard to just be a better person.
I really hope your project stays above water ,using the v8 is the first so the learning curve is something im going to enjoy watching .i hope their is a TURBO in the near future

You hear you guys in SO many videos talk about stuff you have tried and didn't work or whatever before on a ski that's in the video. And that ski works just fine. You'll do the same with the V8. Lookin forward to the comeback. And curious to see exactly what all went wrong and how it started to sink.

We had exactly the same issue with our jetski. The jet washer ring pushed out of the shaft and the jet pumps all the water into the engine-bay…. We were really lucky that a friend of us towed him realy fast to the beach otherwise we were on the bottom as well. We pumped the water out of the engine and engine-bay. Flushed the engine and fikst it in 24 hours. Hopefully you can safe this unit🤞 goodluck!
Happens to Sea Doos every weekend, lol. On the Sea Doo it’s the bellow on the carbon ring. Sank mine once. It’s fine, just drain off all the water.

Well I am hoping that the ECU and the electronics are OK. I don’t know about the alternator and starter but I just hope the Ecu is still good, it is supposed to be waterproof so hopefully it’s still good. Thanks for the support 👌👍

You guys are something else, I can't even imagine how fast,or how much it could tow . I hate it sank for sure... it's just incredible that you guys could even build a ski with a V-8 in it... Thank God Jason was there with a large enough rescue craft to safely transport both of you back to shore in case the whole ski sank to the bottom.

Yeah so the engine should be OK as long as it doesn’t get rusty because it wasn’t running when it sank so Hydro lock won’t be a problem because obviously I will pull the spark plug and get all the water out of it 👌👍

That shit sucks, almost sunk mine a month ago. I got off trailer and my ski died out shortly after took it to shore notice my back end is low like urs and take the seat off & it’s already taken on a lot of water in like 5 minutes. Took it back to the ramp before it sunk, sure enough my carbon seal went out. Hope u get it fixed

This happened with one of my 550s, hit a shallow part of a river and didnt realize that i had cracked the bottom of my hull, only thing keeping it afloat was the basically empty gas tank full of air,
before watching this i got a seadoo ad not lying
Once you get her afloat you can fly the skull and crossbones. She is now a ghost ship (PWC)

Sounds like the drive shaft uni joint snapped and went through the hull or tore the impeller and mounts out or something like that!

been there. except i was holding mine with my toes. (it belonged to my grandpa). handlebars up it was sticking out of the water. someone towed me in so didn't lose it. mine was smaller though. found out later that the flywheel cover came off.
this hit way to close to home for me.

I'll bet the "gearbox" let go and holed the hull. A belt drive is needed for the reboot. Either a Gilmer or HighTorque belt drive is the fix. I found an LS 5.3 aluminum block LH6 engine at Lynnwood picknpull but the damn thing is blowed up real good. Crank and two rods are junk. Needs a sleeve and some welding on the block. And there's no guarantee that will make it good.

@@JetSkiBrothers Now that I've made up my mind that I want an LS for my S10 I can't find an aluminum block engine. Until I did a couple weeks back. I go out looking 2 or 3 times a week. Used to see them fairly often but not lately.

It didn’t stop running. I turned it off because it wasn’t moving forward anymore or I guess it wasn’t moving anywhere. Then it sank
@@JetSkiBrothers mmm wasn’t moving and engine running. Hopefully just a propulsion issue an it let water in as a result. Still that water could now have done some real damage.

I was thinking about the same, but more that the V8 with it's tons of torque ripped something in the drive line to pieces.
Definitely messed some stuff up and I will be showing what happened in an upcoming video 👍

Happened to me in Egypt in the Mediterranean sea a Sea Doo rxt after faulty repairs but did not completely sink was able to tow it back to shore

For me that was a great jobs, my advice would be to start with the
V6 4.3 > as i look > would fits better would give you 200 + hours power - to me it’s fine.

Your comment is both illiterate and stupid tbh....A 4.3 v6 weighs the same as this LS nearly and makes ~150 less hp, and a ton less torque, even at a higher RPM(which is what makes pumps cavitate) That would be a piece of shit to ride and make all the work a complete waste of time!

I would assume that motor mount snapped or drive shaft and it cracked the fiber glass bottom have seen that a time or 2
