  • Today we put a 6000w 72v electric motor on a tiny mini bike and ripped it up the street to see how fast it can go. spoiler alert, its fast!! this is the electric motor I bought for the electric pit bike conversion project but before I use it for that project I first need to see what it can do in this tiny mini bike frame.

On my electric bike the best addition was regen/e-brake. Even though it regenerates about 10% which is not much, but it saves me a lot of money I would spend on brake pads.

    • @bonafide9085

@@tonyfoxxbuilds1920 No. By default it is an analog input to the controller (3 wires like a potentiometer) so, when you pull the brake lever it gradually increases the ebrake power, but I just added a push button for my left thumb and it brakes on max when I press the button.

Pro Tip: We have found that for a 10 inch wheel you can get maximum acceleration and still reach about 50mph with a gear ratio of about 5.7/1. This is about the limit of the motor but makes sure you aren't wasting an extra power to heat. 7.25 / 1 is best for torque on a 10 inch wheel with out being TOO short.
    Keep it up brother!
