- Опубликовано: 4 июл 2024
- In this episode I install the rest of the Arctic Tern windows and mostly complete the exterior of the overland expedition truck. Only weeks into the build and the Dometic Awnings are installed, we have built the entry stairs & slide out landing and the Dometic rooftop 12 volt air conditioner and Maxxair vent vans are completed. I am now sealing the roof and getting ready to begin the interior of the habitat.
Follow along as I completely outfit and custom fabricate my home on wheels. In this video series I will detail all of the components and build steps that go into completing the ultimate overland expedition vehicle build.

Oh man, this is so epic! Glad that I got to see this rig in person
Thank you! So glad you got to come by and hang, we all had so much fun. Your adventure looked awesome as always, I can't wait to see all the beauty of Baja that I am sure you captured.
How you know perfect squares windo in and out bravo i applaud to you👍
We weld the frames that the windows were inserted into perfectly square so cutting the skin was super easy.
It's really starting to look like something!
Next stop, Architectural Digest - Mobile Edition!
😂 Getting there.
Now I want to do all new doors on the van 😂🎉. This is so good. Love seeing it all come together. 👍🏻
Oh boy. No more holes....
Looking great Michael!
Thank you, really appreciate it as always.
Awesomeness!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Holes day! 🧡😂
Holes day is always scary.
I don't have any background in off-grid on wheels rebuilds , but do watch a number of sailing channels and was wondering if using marine type applications would last longer than RV type applications since what's used on boats have to withstand constant motion and intense environmental conditions.
Absolutely true. I pretty much use all marine grade electronics and accessories on board.
Oh and it looks like once you got the initial holes drilled for the mirrors and all that “puckering” out of the way it was all down hill from there. You REALLY went to perforating the girl after that. 😂
So many holes... 😮
So EZ , no wonder you gotta done so fast 😊 geez ........ ~peace~ hope life is good in baja ......🤟
Just a snap of the fingers 😂 Weather is beautiful here. ☀
Amazing build! How big is the box?
The box is 21 feet long.
Hi yall is there a name where to buy those according steps it’s hard to find
They are tork lift glow steps. Can be gotten online at etrailer
hi can we have some info and a link to the heavy duty lock that can be seen on min 2:22 ? thanks
Yes, that can be seen in episode 7. ruclips.net/video/VrENZy29Rfo/видео.htmlsi=1hGjE0K-RM1sN9GS
Are you going to move the rear wheels further aft? Depending on the weight cantilevered behind the rear axel it acts as a lifting force decrease the weight on your steering axel which is dangerous. It certainly looks like you exceeded the amount of vehicle extending past the rear axle, you CG is not in a good place.
I am not. The truck was designed for this from the military to carry a fully loaded twenty foot container. I never recommend changing vehicle drivetrains or major components. Been there done that with plenty of jeeps and land rovers and always ends in sadness.
Still blows my mind you're not the guy who bought the one with 2 slides.
I looked at those, don't like the way they fold in. Would be nearly impossible to build out the habitat the way that I like.
