What's great about your hair is I see microlocs but i also see a natural fro if that makes sense?? The density and how your hair frames your face reminds me of one.
I would love to hear about your experience with locs in a professional settings. That would be a great video! I'm an accountant so as you can imagine locs are not represented at all in my field.
I’m a nurse with sisterlocks and I’m grateful I’ve never experienced ANY discrimination or anything negative! 😊actually, there are a ton of people in healthcare with locs. It’s more normal than you would think. I love being able to wear my hair how I want and get a ton of compliments from patients and other healthcare professionals lol the only negative in my experience is there’s a lot of dust/lint/ debris floating around in the hospital. So at the end of the day, I have to shake my hair really well to get the loose lint out of my hair. If you shake your hair in the sun light, you’ll be able to see how much lint is really trapped in your hair 😳
I wore micro mini twists last summer through November. I had around 300-400 twists. They were not locked. I wore them to a work conference in October that my organization hosted. I wore them with a twist and curl done with flexirods. They honestly look like natural curls. I received compliments all throughout wearing them. I was the only BW at the conference and was initially nervous about wearing a natural style as it’s a corporate environment until I saw the versatility of the twist and curl. I took them out in December. Wearing 350 plus was tough to maintain temporarily. It took me and my sister 3 days to install them. Not working straight through just like 8 or so hours a day. I kept them in for 3 months and they didn’t lock. Another month and they would have. I absolutely loved the look as I was testing out locs. Just haven’t taken the plunge yet. I have mini twists now but only about 85-90 which is easier to maintain on a monthly basis. I work remote and can still wear them in a twist and curl if I need to have client facing meetings. It’s not as full, so I will most likely split them so I’m at 125-150. I feel like the more twists yiu have, it can go from corporate to dressy, to casual very easily.
Agreed! I had a similar experience where I tried out “mini braids” of about 100 or so with just my hair. Mine were locking in like 2 weeks and I wanted them to look fuller so that’s why I eventually went with locs of over 600. What’s stopping you from taking the plunge now? It sounds like you have a similar upkeep and style already.
I have enjoyed watching your journey. THANK YOU for allowing me/us to follow it and you! Your hair is gorgeous. Congratulations on your professional accomplishments too! Keep on inspiring, Lady!!!!
Oh my gosh, totally wasnt expecting you to answer my question in the video! Love how much you are enjoying your journey, literally been watching you since install days😉
Your hair just keeps getting bigger and bigger, I’m obsessed!!! 🤩 🥰😍 I know you don’t like to wear your hair curly, but I would love to see a braid out or pipe cleaner curls on your hair 🥺
YESSSS YOUR LOCS ARE GORGEOUS!!!!!!😍😍😍 I loc'd my hair in July 2023 and you were a huge inspriation. I also have very thick hair and watching your vids greatly inspired me to get micro-locs. I go to an amazing loctitian but I def need to learn how to do my reties too.
Hey Queen. I've missed you. Loved your update. I really love your locs and following you on this journey. Thanks for sharing. Can you give us an update on how your brother is doing with his locs? ❤
Lovely. So full! I'm an MS3 also in clinical rotations. I usually wear my chunky locs pulled back or in a simple updo. But I have to be careful about my bun inadvertently touching walls etc. The OR is my *favorite* place bc I can cover it with a scrub cap. Sounds sad when I write it out l. Im not hiding it though, I'm just grossed out by hospitals and clinics. Gotta be able to wash the hospital off me at the end of the day! Covering helps mw do that. Love your content
Not sad at all! I hear you! Hospital cooties can be sticky icky! lol I’m kind of jealous you hair can fit in a scrub cap. If there’s a brand you’d reccomend. Please lmk!
Your hair is beautiful. Thank you for sharing so much info and tutorials. I've learned a lot from your videos. I wanted to clarify some info on your prep. Did you blow out your hair or just stretch it out from the braiding? I know it took you a few days/weeks to finish your locs. In the meantime, you didn't put anything in your hair right, you just kept it braided?
I flat ironed it. To flat iron it I used olive oil spray. It’s one of the reasons I did an ACV rinse after completing my install. Recipe on my blog at Queeneleem.com
I remember your first video! And when you talked about how you did human hair micro braids first and I always thought about doing that to get used to it. It takes so long to braid my hair, and now I have smallish braids but I can always part those in four and make micro…hmmm
I’ve only had my hair retightened by a professional loctician fully one time. Then I had another loctician help me with half a Reti twice. Otherwise I’ve been almost 100% diy, currently halfway through a self Reti right now
2 years lol girrrl it feels like 4 years since you had them ... that is wild
It has been 4 years I just posted this 2 yrs late. 3 and 4 year coming soon
@@QueenEleem i knew i wasnt bugging !
I love my locs, gives me so much more time to focus on other things. Definitely the best hair decision I’ve made!
It really is!

I love that! That’s somehow one of the nicest compliments I’ve ever gotten. So it totally makes sense!
I was thinking the same thing while watching the video! ❤

Congrats on making it to clinical year
Beautiful locs
🔥🔥🔥 Do you still go to a loctician?

How are your brother’s locs coming along?
They’re coming along great! We recorded an update video of his loc journey. Would you be interested?
