Health officials warn Botox may be linked to botulism-like illnesses across multiple states, including Florida.
Why in the world would anybody go anywhere other than the doctors office to have injections in their face is beyond me.

Oh, I can instantly think of one common case - a dentist's office, who also doesn't inject botox.
The laugh is, whoever is illegally and it is illegally importing this shit actually is, they've opened themselves up to terrorism charges, as botox is a select agent and well, right up there with bringing in weapons grade plutonium.

Well, yeah, it's actually happened before. Botox comes diluted to a standard strength, the fake shit, well, it's diluted to nothing or full strength or anywhere in between, so an overdose is likely.

I'm still scratching my head what a pesticide against weeds has to do with botox, one of the most poisonous toxins on the planet, but occasionally used in medicine has to do with one another, other than maybe someone spilled their drink into the bot.

It used to be. Dated a girl who went to a few 20 years ago. No idea of they still have them but they did back around 1998 to 2002 the time I was with her. I thought it was incredibly dumb but to each their own.

I'd not be frightened, if doctor is on the list to receive botox for administration to patients, doctor's well qualified to administer those injections.
Let's hope they wrangle this one down and it's done, the leading cause of botox poisoning in the US previously was infant botulism, secondary to being given honey at too young an age.

The poison for artificially "improving" appearance contains a contaminant, maybe it's a good idea not to spend a bunch of money, time and health, to make yourself somebody you aren't.
Actually, it's probably not a contaminant, just overstrength. Botox is an extremely powerful toxin, it's heavily diluted and when used medically, sparingly and precisely.
And the biggest hints here, spas and botox parties, which are decidedly not medical clinics authorized to administer the toxin for medical purposes.

And well, medicine 101, given at a party or spa, it's guaranteed that a board certified physician is not administering the injections, so equating medical usage and illicit usage is like comparing a hospital's surgical complication rate with the neighborhood butcher illegally performing surgeries.

@@mariatorres9789 It doesn't stay put. A lot of it just "travels" down if not dissolved, so it could end up elsewhere clogging up the natural flow of lymphatic drainage. I saw one of the cosmetic doctors saying they're keeping it hush hush coz a lot of people would lose a lot of money. Although people DID sign that they knew of the risks. It's like paracetamol. Nobody takes the contra indications seriously anymore.
