So stinkin’ cool! How many people can say they’ve gone for a ride with Paddy?! I bet you’ll cherish that moment forever. Thanks for sharing!

Still leak water & still smell of petrol & I wouldn't drive anything else. Love my mpi Cooper Sport she's the most fun to drive. Brought my first mini in '87 a mini city & have had a few since then, once driven always loved. Paddy the legend thankyou for the fun🇬🇧💚

Paddy Hopkirk, legend. This makes me want a Mini so bad, then I look out of the window and there's my red Mini 30. The only car that puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful time with the Legend that is Paddy Hopkirk. He was a hero of mine growing up in the late 1950’s. He inspired me so much. My first Mini was a 1959 Austin Seven, followed by a 1963 Cooper & so many more I can’t remember. I have owned eight versions of the new MINI, currently I have a second generation Countryman S & a GP2. I may be an old man now but Minis have kept me young at heart & yes they still make me smile every time I drive them.

The old school Mini is the Most famous small car of all time, it was my 1st car, and it stole my heart. A truly great little car that could humble v6 and v8 POWERED CARS

I owned a 1275 Mini Cooper S and raced it in SCCA C sedan class. Yes I had the Paddy Hopkirk pedal among other PH pieces. Paddy is a great man who is tremendously respected by all of us who competed in Minis in the day.

Paddy is the man. I've seen 33 EJB in person and it looks incredibly aggressive. I can understand how it put up stiff completion against the Healeys and the SAABs in Monte Carlo in 65.

Your welcome, my first car was a Mini Cooper 1275 a few years later I have a Lotus Europa both cars with a incredible Polar Moment of inertia like "on rails" around corners. Cheers from Australia.

@@juancarlossaavedra4505 I have run a number classic Coopers and fast Minis and had a Europa JPS Big Valve Special. Classic Coopers are the only cars that make me smile, just thinking about them.

No mention of the early minis having an unnecessary oil hole in the tapered (Flywheel) end of the crank which allowed oil to drip onto the clutchplate. They welded the hole up in later years but Pat Moss and probably all the other mini rally drivers of the time carried a bag of sand in the car and when the clutch started to slip they opened the little inspection plate on the top of the bellhousing and dropped a handful of sand onto the flywheel and clutchplate. It seemed to do the job!

Needed the oil hole to lubricate a bushing had an oil seal but never worked, changed the bushing to non lubricated fixed it
