I'm a believer that even when he is sentenced and doing time, there can never be justice in a situation like this. How can things be made just when two innocent lives are lost? The only true justice would be to bring them back, and that cannot be done. There can only be the closest thing we can muster that feels like justice, and it's unfortunate. Honor killing is somewhat the norm here in Sweden. We just had an honor killing where two brothers ran over their mother, killing her. Because she met a man. I believe she was in the process of divorcing their father who's in jail. I have no understanding to why there's honor in murdering someone who wants a different life than the culture and traditions they were born in. Rest in paradise to these girls 🕊️
Since i'm from an Arabic country and a Muslim i'll tell you this,(i'm sorry it's gonna be long) In the Arab region, Honor killing has to do with what Arab used to do before Islam, example.. a man finding his wife with another man, one man insulting another disrespecting him infront of people.. When he does nothing and keeps silent to what happened to him and not defending him self, he's not considered a man or he's not man enough and they'ld look down at him and maybe alienate him socially. So to prove he is a man he would kill who insulted him and be a man in the eyes of his society. When Islam came it mentioned that era it in the Quraan as (ignorance days) for their stupid behaviour, and considered killing someone is forbbeden, and only a person who kills another deserve death penalty, eye for an eye. But till this day, there are things people used to do befor Islam that some are still practicing it in the present, and they incorporate it with Islam or tradition, honor killing is one of it, its not mentioned in Quraan at all so they considered it as tradition, and they will do it for the sake of the society. Theres no excuse for what they did and still doing, but i wanted to tell and explain it to you.

He didn't their mother is American they were born here. He abused them physically and sexually all their lives. The mother was underage when he married her I think. There are many documentaries on the case.

I’ve seen this story on several crime shows and what’s interesting is that the mother is NEVER mentioned after the “honor killing.” She’s the one that tricked her girls into going back home even though she knew about his threats and violent behavior. Where is she!? She should also be held accountable.

I think there have been kid gloves used with her because she was married to this adult at 15, he abused her throughout the marriage, and it's difficult for people to say whether she is just a garbage human and tricked the girls because she sucks, or if she's truly just a victim of long-term domestic abuse and coercive control and felt fear that if she didn't get the girls to go back, something would happen to her...there's a stigma against victim blaming (rightfully so), but that banner of her being a victim of his seems to protect her more than I'd expect it to personally. But I'm a 30 year old man who hasn't been abused by my parents since I was 12, and my wife only finally stopped getting violent within the last year, and I'm not scared of any of them, so I can't say how powerful the coercive control was. Idk what she was thinking. The prosecution never used these words: Muslim, Islam or honor killing. The defense use them frequently. The FBI agent (witness) said "honor killing" once. The prosecution was extremely wise, because the defense would only use islamophobia as the grounds for an appeal.
