I'm so glad that Zeke is on this podcast. Every year I learn about some new games from his lists and they never fail to deliver. Time to try The Holy Gosh Darn
I appreciate how Zeke has this delightful dichotomy between his blue humor/kinda shock jock layer but he loves indie games and often has the wisest and most mature outlook on life matters.
Yeah zeke really loves the indie and weird stuff, cohh loves the big hardcore PC stuff, and jp loves the casual/multiplayer AAA big releases it basically covers all of the gaming sphere
Thanks JP, Cohh, Ezekiel, Barry , mods and anyone else who helps make this show. Dropped Frames reminds me so much of Cooptional podcast and good times watching Totalbiscuit and gang. Makes me bit sad remembering him, but you guys are amazing and make great shows!
thank you for still doing this show every week, been watching since 2017 and have done so many chores while listening, i've pretty much grown up with this show and it's been a great pleasure!
I wish Cohh would take a bit more time for DF, I feel like the show is just not that much of a priority for him anymore. With him missing a lot of the episodes in 2024 and cutting this one, which is probably the most important one of the year, a bit too short. Idk just feels like he's a lot less invested in it than the other two hosts.
I’d say the streaming during dropped frames does seem a little “I have more important shit to do” Family is absolutely understandable and I wouldn’t hold against anyone
I don't really get much opportunity to watch Twitch however I have watched pretty much every Dropped Frames and most other shows of JP's on RUclips and a big thank you for how quickly you are able to get the VOD's up for VOD frogs like me.
Not even 20 seconds in and I know this will be my favorite show of the month. Always love your game of the year. Best in the industry, imo. Thanks guys!
Interesting how not a single game was on all 3 top 10 lists. I looked it up on JPedia and this has actually never happened before. Usually there is at least one big mainstream game that is on all 3 lists. I guess it would be different if Cohh had played Metaphor or JP had played Indiana Jones.
Another great year, thanks JP Cohh and Zeke! Been watching your stuff since the first RollPlay days and have no plans on stopping, best of luck into 2025 and beyond. I like to think I’m still part of Bregor’s Boys in spirit all these years later. ✌️
Really just wanna say thank you to everyone on the team for this show. Been listening for years and you three are always fun to listen to. Even though i can never catch it live, i always look forward to listening to the vod while im at work.
Best show of the year is back! Thanks for another show. Btw, I wouldn't change the order of the categories. I'd stick with leaving the top 10 for last. If you put it first, people might even leaver earlier the stream or not watch the whole thing. I don't know, top 10 in the end is the perfect culmination of what you were discussing in previous categories. It was disappointing seeing Cohh leave earlier. This is once a year. Usually it also is 3h30/4h total runtime. Would be nice to find a way to ensure everyone is on board and has a free calendar to comply with that. Take care and see you next year!
A shame that the last half of the show had to be rushed because one of the members cant reserve time for one of the most anticipated epidoses of the year for watchers
I eagerly await this show at the start of every year. I can't keep track of what games come out anymore and this helps narrow down a list of things to play since my tastes align so well with a lot of yours. I know this is going to be a great show. Huge respect to the parents Cohh was talking about. I wish more people like that existed. Very surprised Wukong and DD2 didn't make Cohh's list.
Zeke’s picks for every category are the most interesting to me somehow even though I play/would play games that JP and Cohh are playing more. Keep it up guys!
One Thing I am suprised no one on mentioned for the favorite feature was all the physics or particle physics in astrobot, we don't really see it implemented anymore nowadays, also the physics push was so long ago with the older cards. Red faction guerrilla has some of the best destruction in any games with its physics even when its 16 years old. Hope instead of the ballooning studio budgets due to chasing next gen fidelity we get more interactive tech like physics. I think it was a big part of what made astrobot so joyful that got overlooked.
For me, the end of Pacific Drive really took the wind out of my sails. "Wait, that's it?" was my reaction, and as a result, it didn't even make it into my personal Top 10. I know it should be an example of 'it's the journey, not the destination that matters' and I enjoyed the journey a lot, but the ending really soured me on the overall experience and also kind of cheapened it.
Used to watch a lot of Twitch and catch DF on there but life gets in the way so I only consume RUclips for streamer content now. Thanks for maintaining a presence here! Always love the GOTY show. I don't have a lot of time to game anymore so this show gives me a list of games that are worth my limited time. Pacific Drive and V Rising are now at the top of that list. My youngest kid loved the Astrobot pack-in with the PS5 so I bought Astrobot for him for Christmas and he just beat it last night. That's on my list as well.
As a swede it's kind of cool seeing these lists 5 out of Cohh's 10 games on the goty list are made by Swedish studios. (Indiana Jones, Vrising, Satisfactory, Helldivers and Core Keeper). 3 on JP's list. (Satisfactory, Helldivers and Star Wars outlaws) 1 on Zeke's list. (Indiana jones)
Make next years show an hour longer instead of rushing through it???(it's a once a year show..) I liked the caterogies that were included. Great show again this year tho
Amazing show fellas, loved watching and thanks for rolling the ball JP, excited to see the guests later in January if Cohh still drops to play catch up for awhile on the backlog
1:41:00 I only ever played the Space Marine 2 campaign with friends. Let me say, when you start hearing audio hallucinations in the later stages.. every character hears something different. It's pretty fun.
