I have repaired many chipped items with bonding clays etc. With a little paint, gold leaf, antiquing wax you can make the chips completely vanish. I recently replaced and entire horse ear on some bookends and you would never know. I bet Rachel would be really good at Chip repairs.
My late husband was a museum conservator and I am a museum curator. Happy to provide Rachel with information about museum conservation or curatorship as careers should she be interested.
THANK YOU FOR BUYING CHIPPED/ CRACKED ITEMS!! I do the same and have no problem buying the things off the internet when the seller discloses that it has a flaw. Sometimes that's the only way I can afford to buy a piece that I like at a price I can't afford
You have a special quality that makes a person feel that they are your best friend shopping right along with you. No one else shares this special ability and I’ve subscribed to your many recommendations, although nice, they are not you. Thank you for being you. You are relaxing and fun during our day to day challenges. Just a quick message from your Canadian fan
I gasped at that glass casserole dish. I am collecting that glass with the tiny flowers. I just rescued several glass pieces this past weekend. I love the rescue. Makes me happy to keep it from the landfill.
With Rachel's artistic talents has she ever thought about being a museum conservator as a possible career? It came to mind when you were talking about chipped things. It's a fascinating field combining artistry with science.
I am so glad that you save some special things , that just happened to have a chip or two . I am right there with you , lady !!! I have many GORGEOUS things in my home that have tiny flaws . When you think about it , is ANYTHING or PERSON perfect in this world ? Lol ( How BORING that would be ) 😂
In my area, our thrift stores are so bare, regardless of the time or day. Goodwill always a bust. I do enjoy watching your videos since a lot of the time you go in the evenings after a lot of traffic has gone through. It helps with really examining. I also enjoy when you are there early ( I love the history-your flea market finds have help in that area). Bottomline, I enjoy your videos.
Tuning in from the UK 🇬🇧 ✨️ Love watching you shop, you have give me the bug I've been shopping the charity shops shelves here with my inner Danny telling me I need to have it! I've become a horder lol I need to get my Danny selling hat on! I've found glass is my thing ❤
I never mind if there isn't a pair or set. I have a house of hodge podge. That way I can just keep adding things. I guess that's why I love patchwork plaid, madras.
YES…I am so happy I caught the show with George. What a fascinating man. So much knowledge. I had to go follow channel before you were even half way through the show🤗
We like Tupperware because of the nostalgia! I’ve got three of the old tall cups from which we used to drink in the summertime. Remember?!? They’re in the back of my closet: two shades of aqua and one a mushroom colour. Love ‘em. Waiting for summer…. “Colour me silly”! 😂 You buy those chipped bits. 🌷People can purchase them from you or not. How ridiculous. 🥳
I absolutely Adore my Redwing egg dish with the extra character!! Just shows it was loved before i got to love it too. Thank you for selling it to me!!!
I don’t know if it was this shopping trip or another I watched on the same day, but you came across a duck head and said you didn’t know what it was. By total coincidence, I ran into something like it on eBay while running comps. It’s a beer bottle opener!
I have bought several items that were chipped and put them in my china hutch! They look lovely! If I held out for one perfect expensive item I would probably only have one item in my china hutch! 😂 So we all do our thing and I’m glad you do yours! You are loved just like you are! I’m glad you got that Mickey Mouse purse! Maybe some one can put some decorative tape around the handle! If you like something a lot, fix it up and enjoy it! Thanks again for your fun video!
As I was out on Saturday I wanted a Starbucks and passed up so many as they had too long of lines. I think their popularity is not fading. I recently bought a beautiful Marano vase that had an itty bitty chip on it for a real bargain price
I lived Mondays video so much I will definitely watch it again! If you hadn't rescued that elephant I may have severed all ties.... he's just so stinking cute! I love that wall pocket. I grew up with my grandparents and my mom having wallpockets and never fave them a thought a b d lately I've been looking at them wondering where they might look good in our place.
My guess is the mug that had was a Grog mug it is a drink we used to get it in St Patrick's Day it a type of drink the sailors would drink and believe it has rum in it it's yimmy
As long as you disclose the chips in the listing, there are customers who will buy. I sold a Beatrix Potter ceramic Peter Rabbit that had been repaired (immediately after a mean customer messaged me about its condition and told me it would never sell) to a lady in England who told me she didn’t care at all about the repair because she loved it so.
Oh my gosh I had that Ross Products squirrel when I was little in the mid 1960s! Mine had green rhinestone eyes. Blast from the past! Was that a Johnny Hart BC comics milk glass mug?
We had warm weather last week and Sunday we got a surprise it was freezing cold. The wind felt like it was going through you. It took me hours to get warm when I got home ?????? 🌬️🌬️🌬️ weird weather. 😮 loved the show with you and George , so informative ❤️
Grogg? I know what that is. I remember those coffee cups from the mid seventies. It was based on a comic strip called B.C. Comics. They also had clear tumbler glasses with the comic characters painted. (Or possibly, it could be haggar the horrible comic series, they looked similar)
Get Noah a good thermometer! Those cheap ones are probably inaccurate, and can't be recalibrated. If they are off, they don't do you any good. Its odd he keeps needing them, a good one could last forever, because it will stay accurate longer, and can be reset. He's worth it, your food safety is worth it, and definitely having your meat at the preferred doneness is worth it. 😁
I appreciate your comment about selling not perfect items. Some people can't afford to buy the perfect item but can, perhaps, afford the slightly damaged item. I think that because of the crazy price of shipping via the USPS, the slightly damaged item is not a no-no anymore.
True, but I am always happy to see something that my budget can handle. I understand sellers wish to make a living from selling and I don't fault hem for that. Sellers are saving many beautiful items for all of us. I enjoy your videos and like it when your family participates. Best wishes.
You are so lucky that your GW still has the color discounts. All of our stores here in SD discontinued them and our senior discount is only 6%. Better than nothing I guess.
If I were guessing or looking for possibilities I would say those gold pointed metal items could be used by someone who collects toy train sets and have them set up running and could use them in their scenery part. Reminds me though of Oil well rig towers
I love saving chippy stuff. The horsehair vase can be embellished with a bit of leather and turquoise! Pyrex can be brought back to life with BarKeeper's Friend! Love the peacock plates! I have an OCD issue with all those out of place pieces at the store! I was a Hallmark mdser and I would have people right next to me placing cards back to the wrong spots! AARRGGH!
You are so knowledgeable on glass would love you to flip nor if that as opposed to the cheap, broken items. You are wasting your talent plus you’d up you income significantly. Keep up the great job along with sharing your knowledge!!
Did you know that round fishbowls drive fish crazy! Because there are no corners…and I am not joking! They will sometimes jump out of bowl because of that..😢
I enjoyed gthis trip. I think it's great if you find something you enjoy but it has a chip or something and yo I go ahead and purchase it. Thats like me. I dont care if something is new that they are trhing to make look old. If i like it I'll get it. Why let your peices die Danni? You do what you do. Its got you a long way so far. Love ya! ❤️😘💞💞💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️👶
The Nike plus was for their bracelets for steps taken. Starbucks is alive and well. I just sold 50 pieces through my bosses estate company!! The Grog was painted originally.
The closest Goodwill to me is 1h15m away so I have never been. I recently took a trip to NJ (6 hr drive) for a family thing and we went to her Goodwill. I was so disappointed. It was super messy, the shelves were a jumbled mess, and people were very off-putting. Prices were really high as well. Didn't seem to compare to Danni's. I left with nothing. 🙁 I'll just stick to shopping with Danni.
I still buy Starbucks mugs for my inventory, but I don’t spend over $2.99 on each. That’s my limit on them. And they must be unused. I’ve been pretty successful selling them, so I think they’re still worth picking up IMHO. 👍🏻
I think you have discretion on buying chipped items. Like you said it's item by item. Depends on how large the chip, location and price of piece. Thank you for all you do.
I have a Yamaha studio grand piano that didn’t cost $1,000 BRAND NEW when I bought it 25 years ago. And pianos depreciate with age, especially when they’re in the condition that one was. That Goodwill store has a defective pricer.
I have a few Starbucks mugs for sale and have sold a few but to me they seem to be long tail. It might be the content of the mug-like the wrong state or design-not really sure.
I have repaired many chipped items with bonding clays etc. With a little paint, gold leaf, antiquing wax you can make the chips completely vanish. I recently replaced and entire horse ear on some bookends and you would never know. I bet Rachel would be really good at Chip repairs.
Yes! I do that too. It’s fun and a challenge.
My late husband was a museum conservator and I am a museum curator. Happy to provide Rachel with information about museum conservation or curatorship as careers should she be interested.

Thank you for having George the antique nomad on you live show yesterday. I enjoyed it tremendously!
I loved watching you and George. It was nice to have George reaffirm your hunches on the value of the wonderful antiques you got at the swap meet!😀👍
Anyone who hasn’t watched Monday’s video HAS TO CATCH THE REPLAY!! It was fantastic!
You have a special quality that makes a person feel that they are your best friend shopping right along with you. Loved those Peacock Plates! That Squirrel? Yeah, that squirrel has been traumatized! Lol
With Rachel's artistic talents has she ever thought about being a museum conservator as a possible career? It came to mind when you were talking about chipped things. It's a fascinating field combining artistry with science.
Oh never thought of that I'll ask her!
Lovely video, you look happy and it’s great to see.
I’m still in a jacket here, it’s a chilly April on the U.K. Sussex coast!
Chips on antiques means they have been loved.
I believe the brass duck head came off a cane. My Gramps had one like it.

I LOVE to rescue chipped pieces…they were loved and will continue to be.
I feel like you do Dani about saving things from the landfill. I wish we could save it all. You got some great things today.
My grandparents had the Grog mugs that they drank their Sanka out of every morning in the 70s and 80s.
I never mind if there isn't a pair or set. I have a house of hodge podge. That way I can just keep adding things. I guess that's why I love patchwork plaid, madras.
I enjoyed your video today your so talented the live with George was so interesting Thank you Dani i watch daily
YES…I am so happy I caught the show with George. What a fascinating man. So much knowledge. I had to go follow channel before you were even half way through the show🤗
Is it not almost unhuman, the amt of info he has in his head? And all the dates and history of the whole globe? It amazes me!
We like Tupperware because of the nostalgia! I’ve got three of the old tall cups from which we used to drink in the summertime. Remember?!? They’re in the back of my closet: two shades of aqua and one a mushroom colour. Love ‘em. I just read an article that said the older Tupperware was made with BPH I think that gets into our food. The article said not to use it for food.
I absolutely Adore my Redwing egg dish with the extra character!! Just shows it was loved before i got to love it too. Thank you for selling it to me!!!
Danni I loved that elephant ,a lot of people would bid on him including me for your sale Ann ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I don’t know if it was this shopping trip or another I watched on the same day, but you came across a duck head and said you didn’t know what it was. By total coincidence, I ran into something like it on eBay while running comps. It’s a beer bottle opener!
In Australia Grog is alcohol LOL. Grog is also a character John Hart Studios.
That brass duck head at the beginning I think was the top of a cane.
Some nice finds Dani. Hope you have a great night 😀🇨🇦
Any and Roslyn Carter still there. Good people.
7.4 vase with purple/lavender flowers and 12.38Dani that's an Oil Derek, and 16.06 Butter dish Blue ivy

Super video tonight! Glad to see that spark Danni 💫 🔥 ❤

Right there with you on the chipping! It's not new stuff and life happens
The Nike plus accessories go with Nike band value between $25 fo $50 depending on what’s in box.
As I was out on Saturday I wanted a Starbucks and passed up so many as they had too long of lines. I think their popularity is not fading.
I recently bought a beautiful Marano vase that had an itty bitty chip on it for a real bargain price
I got my first piece of Murano a few weeks ago. There’s a couple tiny chips on it but I don’t care! I love it!
White cup with face was a gas station giveaway in pekin Illinois inthe 1960s
I’m glad you pick up chipped pieces and if it’s something that I like I would buy it even with the chips
You can twilly a scarf on that Disney bag handle and add a long strap
I lived Mondays video so much I will definitely watch it again! If you hadn't rescued that elephant I may have severed all ties.... he's just so stinking cute! I love that wall pocket. I grew up with my grandparents and my mom having wallpockets and never fave them a thought a b d lately I've been looking at them wondering where they might look good in our place.
The Grog caveman cartoon milk glass mug is from Marathon gas stations circa late 1960’s-1970. I think these were given out for large purchases.
I LOVE the elephant. He reminds me of the elephants from the Disney Tarzan movie
You found some good stuff I’m always waiting on you lol
I need that LOVE! If it’s still there next time please pick up.
Thanks Dani.😊
You can repair the Disney bag with black sharpie I have good luck😂
My guess is the mug that had was a Grog mug it is a drink we used to get it in St Patrick's Day it a type of drink the sailors would drink and believe it has rum in it it's yimmy

The Ashley pot was a Laura Ashley brand. Can be quite high priced
I could do fix up the elephant so cute!
Yes I seen with you and George great video
GROG is a character in B.C. Comic Strip from 60's & 70's

(Or possibly, it could be haggar the horrible comic series, they looked similar)
My husband has identical twin nieces named lily Allison and Ruby bleu, that mug reminded me of their names.
You should have picked up that PFaltzgraff butter dish because it was really pretty and I think it would have sold
Loved your finds!I especially liked the vase you couldn’t resell with the chip. That would look nice in my living room.
Are those new glasses? Love them!
That white coffee mug is a BC character fro m the old cartoon strip. I collect the glasses.
I appreciate your comment about selling not perfect items. Some people can't afford to buy the perfect item but can, perhaps, afford the slightly damaged item. I think that because of the crazy price of shipping via the USPS, the slightly damaged item is not a no-no anymore.
I guess that depends on what type of clientele you want to cater to and what kind of seller reputation you want to have?
True, but I am always happy to see something that my budget can handle. I understand sellers wish to make a living from selling and I don't fault hem for that. Sellers are saving many beautiful items for all of us. I enjoy your videos and like it when your family participates. Best wishes.
I remember the grogg cups ...but cant remember the details about them ...
Dani you need to put a black light on the white milk glass mug. See if it glow
I am confident in you. You know what will sell. But a lot of those things I would just re-donate. But it was still fun!
You are so lucky that your GW still has the color discounts. All of our stores here in SD discontinued them and our senior discount is only 6%. Better than nothing I guess.
Grog is a funnies strip character if I remember correctly. He is vintage. Created by Johnny hart.
Yes, BC.
If I were guessing or looking for possibilities I would say those gold pointed metal items could be used by someone who collects toy train sets and have them set up running and could use them in their scenery part. Reminds me though of Oil well rig towers
Grog is a Finnish drink at the holidays.
I appreciate you taking time to put some make up on. You look good👍
I love saving chippy stuff. The horsehair vase can be embellished with a bit of leather and turquoise! Pyrex can be brought back to life with BarKeeper's Friend! Love the peacock plates! Home is Target. It has the Target bullseye next to the word home.
You are so knowledgeable on glass would love you to flip nor if that as opposed to the cheap, broken items. You are wasting your talent plus you’d up you income significantly. Keep up the great job along with sharing your knowledge!!
Lol I had some of those square wooden risers. I thought they were candleholder. I donated them.
Grog mugs were given at Marathon gas stations in the 70s I believe.
Also a cartoon....BC cartoon....something like that
That’s where they were from 😊 I forgot….
and they had clear glasses with printed on paint
>Hi Danni love thrifting with you love your videos
Did you know that round fishbowls drive fish crazy! Because there are no corners…and I am not joking! They will sometimes jump out of bowl because of that..😢

Every time I move, I lose clothes. I feel you.
The Nike plus was for their bracelets for steps taken. Starbucks is alive and well. I just sold 50 pieces through my bosses estate company!! The Grog was painted originally.
The triangle metal pieces look like plant trellises.
Love your videos. George was cool!
Home is target. There is a bullseye before the word Home.😂

You found “love” at the Goodwill ❤❤❤
I agree with you, if it’s not food safe, I don’t buy it.
I still buy Starbucks mugs for my inventory, but I don’t spend over $2.99 on each. That’s my limit on them. And they must be unused. I’ve been pretty successful selling them, so I think they’re still worth picking up IMHO. 👍🏻

I can afford perfect pieces, but I don't mind some imperfect things. They are still beautiful sometimes. Or I can touch them up.
My friend yells at me not to buy them, I tell her shut up.
I think that pink purse you put beck was a Coach? Good brand!
Not real!
When you ask if I knew what you were going to grab I. yelled out elephant yay what do I win?
Same! 😃
I’m missing Bougie♥️
Vintage BC Comics Grog Fire King Milk Glass Mug
I believe from the 1970s
Nice glasses Danni ❤
I found Gibson at family Dollar general
Your 🛒 was 🍀tonight! 😄
I have a few Starbucks mugs for sale and have sold a few but to me they seem to be long tail. It might be the content of the mug-like the wrong state or design-not really sure.
Same here!
I think it’ll keep going
