For future reference, the bowl with the cut out “swoop” is a knitting bowl. A ball of yarn(wool) is placed in the bowl and the end being used is threaded through the cut out. This keeps the yarn ball from rolling around when being used. Big ones like the one you found are great for knitters! 😊

I'm amazed at the number of Goodwill stores and thrift shops in Vegas. Here in Rhode Island we have a 3 pretty sad Salvation Armys and 2 Goodwills and about 5 thrift shops, no estate sales . We'd have to depend more on flea markets or yard sales. I'd find more stuff to sell from inside my house.

I love tins to use as gift boxes, though not seasonal tins. The images I enjoy are people, cute animals, old trains and country scenes. The blue tin with white clouds is so pretty.
