I've always bought genuine nylon, for two reasons: 1) It's _generally_ better made, and certainly for Multicam it's actual MC, not ViperCam (or another awful knockoff), and 2) I kinda feel bad supporting businesses that are just making trademark infringing clones rather than making original designed gear. But Airsoft is my main hobby, and I've got a decent disposable income, so I don't look down on anyone who wants to go along a cheaper path. I think my advice for anyone buying a chest rig would be to start with a Spiritus MK5 (or the F9 Ammo Hub), and upgrade it as desired. The actual placard with inserts is pretty reasonable, so you can spread the cost of it over time to change it from a pure plate carrier mounted system to a full fighting chest rig.
I wouldn’t argue with any of that bud. If I had the option I’d only use genuine spiritus stuff. Because I needed to get two new placards in ranger green though so I could leave one as AR-15 and the other SR-25 I just couldn’t afford it. I pretty much just use the genuine multicam one for either SMG or M4 and only as a chest rig. I never run it on my carrier as that’s RG.
Absolutely! In fact a mate recently got a clone FCPC V5 and it’s bloody amazing for both the quality and cost. I couldn’t fault it. I think if you find a good brand like Pew then it’s gonna be fine.
It would be interesting to see a 6/12-month catch-up on the rigs to see how they hold up.

Good comparison. It's a tough one cause the replica gear is now at a good standard where you know that it is going to last a good while

I've been using a couple of clone rigs for 3 years and they've held up really well.
