      OR people should just about get off their asses and learn by researching it, thats part of the learning experience and learning curve, because I highly doubt those people who never bothered to look up something like "how to punish in tekken" or "how to backdash cancel in tekken", would actually watch a tutorial mode video in the game, and then actually take the time going through it over and over again and practicing for hours on his own lol, i HIGHLY doubt it, they'll just go back to button mashing like an ape then give up after 2 weeks

    • @ZeroXcuses
      @ZeroXcuses 7 лет назад +9

      I've got a couple hundred hours in the game and a couple thousand matches, and I never considered ducking the second kick in K-Bob's H/L kick string until I saw this video. Also didn't think about hopkicking Dragunov instead of just blocking.
      Sometimes you do need someone to show you.

    • @squalleeeeeeeeeeeeee
      @squalleeeeeeeeeeeeee 7 лет назад

      I see where you're coming from, but it does often help when things like this are put into the game. One example I would give is Skullgirls. Sure that game doesn't have anything mechanically new for a fighting game, but it had an extremely in depth tutorial. from just a general how to play fighting games, to game specific mechanics, and character specific mechanics like stance canceling on Squigly . I guess what I'm trying to say is it wouldn't help everybody, but it's helpful for the people who would use something like that.

    lol one of the biggest quote from this video is "NOT EVERY MOVE NEEDS TO BE REACTED TO" for some reason, beginners seem to never understand that concept, whenever i randomly have some 1st dan come into my room, instead of kicking him out, i just pick dragunov and do b421 over and over and over again until the round is over in like 20 seconds lol and they will never ever just block or learn that the last hit is high lmao...

  • @andrewmirror4611

    Like, just why didn't they put anything like that in any game? That's a single best video on Tekken I watched ever, no shit, no salt, no downtalk. No this thing "Oh, if you're standing you're blocking mids, if you crouch you'll block lows", like, yeah, we know that shit, that's what game is designed to teach us from the beginning, that's the kind of thing you're picking up in first PvAI battle. Brilliant work, man, thank you

    In my opinion the hardest part about Tekken isn't knowing how to block but knowing how to open someone up after successfully blocking. This explains the system for doing that perfectly without going into the nitty gritty of frame data, which you can't know when you're a new player.

    The best defense is to never let yourself enter a defensive mode. I play with my friends, I got to admit I press more buttons than them if I get pressured in close quarters, but I play Feng and I always keep a sweeping distance enough to catch a whiff into a full combo. Thankfully, Feng has F3,4. It devours whiffs.

      Thanks a lot! I've strayed away from the tutorial videos as time went on (T7 is a year old now) but I'm glad I was able to help the newcomers when this game first released. I plan on doing the same for Soul Calibur 6 but on a lesser scale, I am not as knowledgeable in that game as I am in Tekken.

    One other option is to do an air attack against low attacks. Low attacks can miss if you are not on the floor which could give you a chance to counter them with something that you can use in the air. As always there is no one size fits all and this isn’t the best option for every character or against every low attack, but an option nonetheless to consider.

    I really thought I was unwillingly mashing, because I freak out VERY easily in fighting games (much more than IRL, to be honest), but now I have a good comparison and I improved significantly after trying this out (I didn't even know how to configure the training buddy properly, by the way)
