    In this video I will show you some basic configuration in Cisco Switch.
    Cisco 3550 series Switch I used in this video tutorial.
    Commands I use in this video will work almost all cisco switch like 3550, 2960, 2950 and others.
    In this video tutorial I show u how to configure a cisco switch step by step in easiest way. In this video how to create VLAN, Set Password, assign IP address & other configuration utility.
    After watching this video you learn:
    How to change Hostname in Cisco Switch.
    How to set Enable mode Password.
    How to create VLAN in Cisco Switch 2960, 3550
    How to name VLAN
    How to assign interface to VLAN
    How to assign IP Address to VLAN
    How to enable Inter Vlan Routing in cisco switch

      @@Slawek.K Because there is No DHCP Server configure in this Switch. in my 2nd Video i show, How to configure DHCP Server in Cisco Switch & PC received IP Address Automatically.

    This is the simplest I've seen anyone do this. It's been a real struggle getting the configuration steps really easy even in my in-person Cisco class. With this, I'm super confident I can replicate these configurations. Thanks for showing us the PCs too.

    Thank you, man. Usually when I watch youtube IT tutorials I'm lost in the sauce. You explained everything well and even explained how the separate computers could communicate after the inter VLAN routing command.     13:26 The Cisco Catalyst 2960 series switches are Layer 2 switches and do not support full Layer 3 routing capabilities. Therefore, the "ip routing" command is not available on these switches:
    Cisco Catalyst 2950 Series
    Cisco Catalyst 2940 Series
    Cisco Catalyst Express 500 Series
    Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3000 Series
    Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3100 Series

    Very good tutorial. The only thing is, you can only use the vlan Routing command on a layer 3 device. Otherwise you have to connect your switch to a Router and let it handle the Routing across vLan's.

    at first place you need to mention that we use console cable to configure cisco switch. i got cisco catalyst 2960-x series and this tutorial very helpful anf easy to understand.

    I would advise to use 'secret' instead of 'password' during configuration so that your passwords aren't stored in plaintext in your running-config. If in plaintext, someone could just do a 'show run' to see what your enable password and vty lines and console line passwords are. And do a 'servce-password encryption'. Good walk-thru, good refresher, the refresher on DHCP and using DHCP helper-address would be helpful, I'll look to see if that video got made. Thanks.
